Best. Tamales. Ever. I literally craved these within a day of eating a dozen, and still do since I left. I like that you can see the makings in the back, and the owners are really awesome. If I ever went to San Antonio again, this will be my very first stop.

I ordered ten dozen tamales for a wedding recently. Everyone raved about how wonderful they were and I pointed them your direction. It made a great addition to our wedding fare. Thank you so much.

My go to for Tamales all year round. It’s a lovely family owned business opened for as far back as can remember. Everyone is always sweet as can be even during tamale season. They take pre orders which I recommend doing during the holidays. Any other normal tamale craving day you pretty much can get perfect tamales all morning and early afternoon. They run on a first come first serve basis so get there early to get fresh yummy hot tamales of your choosing. If you get there a tad late they do offer a discount on day old tamales.

These are amazing Tamales. I am originally from the valley and they remind me of the Tamales my grandmother makes. The masa inside is not thick and they are delicious. If you want Tamales during the holidays, make sure you order in September and October. Even if you think you don’t do it and freeze them.

I know everyone says their place is best, but B&B ISTHEBEST!!! I’ve been going to this place for about 20 years now. I have had tamales from just about every place in San Antonio but I always come back here. This is where a lot of restaurants get their tamales. It’s almost impossible to purchase tamales here from November 1st to New Years. They quit taking orders around October 20th so if you want tamales for Christmas you better get your order in early.

I found this place on Unilocal through the many good reviews. I called first, and a voice message stated they were really booked and were no longer taking orders including walk ins for the time being. Being hard headed, I headed over there anyway thinking I could force my way in. When I arrived she was like ‘sure we have some tamales available’. So I ordered ½ doz. for $ 4; a pretty good deal. Firstly, I noticed a huge rat trap on the counter, a gag thing but still very odd. Rat traps are very appetite busting like seeing some dog poo on the floor when you are trying to eat. I didn’t get it. The lady at the counter was older and really nice and attentive. However, the tamales were not all what Unilocalers were saying. The price was great yeah but the tamales were just average in my opinion. They were salty, the sparse pork meat tasted old and the tamales were semi-tough around the edges like microwaved or something. I’ve had better tamales in Michigan. But for the price, there isn’t much to complain about.

This place is amazing! Home made fresh tamales that if you call ahead can be custom made. I’ve brought a bunch to friends and they loved them too. Small mom and pop shop with the friendliest people. Can’t wait to revisit! Hours are Wednesday– Saturday 8am– 3 pm. $ 8 a dozen. I recommend the pork and jalapeño.

My family has been coming here my entire life! These are the best tamales in San Antonio! They do sell out EXTREMELY quick, so get them quickly! They’re super tasty, just the right size, and not extremely greasy like a lot of other places. I can’t believe they only have 7 reviews on here!

Absolutely amazing tamales! Flavorful, moist, perfect masa/meat ratio, it’s everything tamales should be. Few things you should know about B&Bs before stopping by: 1. They sell out almost immediately after opening.(Unless you made an order.) 2. Take cash. Sure, they take the card but this is a Mom and Pop establishment so don’t be a jerk. 3. Be prepared to park in the street/mud/grass because there is next to no parking. 4. Order more than you need. They aren’t bite-sized by any means but you will pop them in your mouth as if they were. I can’t get over how tasty these were. Never going anywhere else.

Nobody’s tamales are as good as my mom’s. But daaang this place is GOOD! Every review on them is right on and I’m glad to add mine to the list. The price is right, too. $ 8/dozen.

YES!!! At my work we have our yearly ‘tamale luncheon’ and have ordered from B&B for years. I’ve tried other tamales and nothing compares to B&B. The tamales are extremely tasty, not fatty or greasy and just taste of HEAVEN. This year they said they were only making pork or pork w/jalapeño tamales. My fave is definitely pork w/jalapeño, gives it a little kick! Overall, the best place to get tamales in my opinion. As Eugene said, I’m really surprised there’s not other reviews, it definitely does put Delicious to shame. Check it out!

Wow I can not believe there isn’t a single review of B & B Tamales! I don’t see why not. The tamales served here are legit and are just as good as the ones served at Ruben’s. Some say B&B is much better. Well that subject can be put up to debate. I assure you it will be a much more interesting debate than the one between the presidential candidates. But politics aside, you have got to come over here. They put Delicious to shame. B&B doesn’t overdo the masa and put the correct amount of filling and they’re not too dry or too greasy. Tip: arrive as early as you can because they sell out quickly especially during December.
