Excellent lunch. Good value. Fast. Friendly. Soon as we walked in the man behind the counter asked if it was our first visit and when I replied yes he immediately gave us each 2 samples of meat. Yum! The Baba Ganoush was second to none :)

Best Gyro I have had! Wife has never had a gyro before and really enjoyed it. Staff was fantastic.

This place is awesome. The gyro’s taste like something out of a Greek dream with clouds and togas and a fully restored Parthenon. So good. The thing that really makes this place stand out is the employees. They are always incredibly friendly and helpful. One gentleman saw me lock my bike in a questionable location outside and told me I could bring it inside the restaurant… during the lunch rush. Above and beyond, folks. A+++++++++

This place is the ! I stopped by to grab a quick lunch to go. Got the gyro shwarma with Greek salad for under $ 10. The gyro meat was good and packed in the sandwich. The guy who I’m guessing was the owner was super nice and outgoing. This place was packed for this weekday lunch, and I can see why!

Gods courthouse cafeteria alternative right across street for healthier food; 15.00 plus tip for gyro salad and drink/tip but worth the premium for convenience and food quality.

Ordered No.2 Chicken Wrap. One of the cooks was so friendly. He asked me whether I was the first time here. I said yes. And he gave me samples to make sure what type of meat I prefer. And then I chose Chicken and I was happy about my decision.

I love eating here! You get a huge quantity of delicious food at a great price. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. The only downside is that the seating fills up quickly, so you should definitely try to go closer to 11:30 if you want to eat inside.

Was at the courthouse for jury duty and looked on Unilocal for a good lunch place within walking distance and found this place! It’s literally right across the street. Excellent service and food. Highly recommend!

Athens Xpress is everything I could ever want in a downtown lunch spot: Amazing food, great prices and a warm, friendly staff. The line is usually pretty long for lunchtime, but the wait actually goes by pretty quick. Once you’ve placed your order, you have the opportunity to watch it be assembled and it’s usually ready by the time you’re paying at the end of the line. I usually get a regular gyro or the gyro combo plate. Both have never failed to satisfy.

I’m a huge fan of Greek food and I really liked what this place had to offer. I’m not normally downtown, but thanks to jury duty I got to mix up my lunch a bit. I got the gyro and a Greek salad, both was delicious and fresh. The customer service was spot on as well. If I was in the area more often I would definitely be a regular. I’m not sure what the parking situation is, but I know there’s a lot of garages within walking distance. Thanks for the delicious noms!

There are not a lot of options for lunch near the County Courthouse or City Hall. The best of the bunch, in my opinion, is Athens Greek Xpress. More than that, it would be well-worth a short drive to have lunch. The menu is straight-forward and is quite limited. But that’s a good thing for a lunch place, as you know you’ll be served quickly. They focus on doing what they do well. You stand in line(don’t miss the silverware at the beginning of the line), get a drink(soda or iced tea or water), and then order. Right quick, there’s your lunch and you pay. It’s clean, tasty, and convenient if you’re in the area. Everyone greets you with a smile. Somehow, the pita seems just slightly more like a tortilla than pita does in other Greek places. Which is fine, just something to know. It’s thinner than I’m used to.

Not only is the chicken wrap amazing, the staff is so friendly and welcoming. They let me try a bit of both the chicken and gyro to see which I like more. If you’re on jury duty or anywhere in the area, this is the place to go!

This is my «Go To» lunch spot in downtown. There’s always a line but the staff keeps it moving. The staff is extremely friendly The food is unexpectedly incredible. It seems small and packed all the time but I’ve always been able to find a table.

This place is in the most unexpected location I would image to find delicious Greek food. But I did. The set-up is almost cafeteria style. You grab a tray, silverware, drink and order at the counter, then pick your food up at the register. If for whatever reason your food isn’t their, they’ll bring it to your table. The numbered selections are simple and allow you to drop a lot of the guess work. I had gone on a Wednesday around 2PM and was through the line in about 10 minutes. The dining room is not big or small, especially for the location. The feel is authentic and the only thing I would change, is if they painted the walls with scenes of the old country. Something I’ve become accustomed to as an American. LOL Food is great though. Pitas warmed to order, meats cooked right and the rice is perfect. I wish I was downtown more often for lunch, so that I could experience this place more often.
