Order wasn’t ready out even started when I went to pick up. So bland and tasteless. I will never try again. You people have obviously not had good pizza from up north

We drove 30 miles to check this place out. The service was good and the pizza was great! We will definitely come back. Thanks!

The pizza here is awesome! And the owners are very nice. We ordered just before close and they gave us a complimentary soda and slices of pizza. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!

In all honesty, it’s one of the better Chicago deep dish pizza in San Antonio. However, being someone who lived near Chicago for years, I can tell you this pizza doesn’t measure up to the best of Chicago pizzas. My biggest qualm with it was how the excess sauce(tart) and cheese(somewhat gooey) made the crust soggy. The pizza is cheap but not well proportioned, and I definitely feel there’s better options locally.

Amigo’s has some of the best pizza in town. My favorite is the supreme pizza. Also, when we got there, the owners were still setting up for the day but they let us in & were super gracious in taking our order even if we were a little early.

I was thinking pizza for lunch. I have eaten at Pizza Hut and Dominoes, so I thought I would try Papa John’s for the first time. I put PJ’s in my GPS from my PO box(I was picking up my mail). It said there was a PJ’s on Fredericksburg. On the way, I see«Amigo Chicago Pizza». If it only said amigo, I would not have stopped. I saw they offer«pizza by the slice» which is a good way to test them without buying a whole pie. By looking at the pies ready for, by the slice, they looked good, I am a big crust person. I ordered a medium, price was right. I ordered an icey drink while I was waiting, but did not pour it(they let you pour your own) until I hit the door and walked into the oven outside. When I got home and was starting to place the slices on a plate, I immediately got a reminder of pizza back home(NY). How much I forgot that good pizza should have cheese that has a good«string factor». When you pull one slice from another, you should have to use your fingers to separate them, not just pick up a slice freely and the others sit there without moving an inch. I knew before I even took the first bite, it was going to taste good. Of course, was going to be a factor and they didn’t let me down. I always know when a pie is really good when I know I should only eat 2 slices and I eat that third slice and then I get that stuffed feeling. From my mailbox, amigo’s is only 2 minutes, if I am picking up my mail, I will definitely pick up a pie. Its about 15 minutes from my house, that’s close enough to make the trip. I am going to leave the«commercial» places alone. This is a slice of home for me. The picture of their sub sandwiches look pretty good. I will have to give them a try.

Placed a large order for a work event, the pizzas were all excellent and the service was amazing. I facilitate large meetings every week across Texas and choosing the right restaurant is half the job, Amigo’s Chicago Pizza made my job easy. I had a tight budget for this event, was able to feed more than 50 people for about $ 3 per person plus I was given an applause for my restaurant choice. I will be using Amigo’s again soon.

Really enjoy this place and have eaten in store a few times. BYOB is a big plus as well. But, tonight at 6:40 p.m. I tried to call an order on for delivery and the phone and no one picked up. After several attempts I am saddened to have to order from somewhere else tonight.

Poor quality ingredients. Pretty sure they use grands biscuits for their crust. The pizza had way too much sauce which wouldn’t have been a bad thing except it was sour. Got a garden salad as well which was pretty good but I didn’t go to the restaurant for the salad. I was hoping for a good pizza.

Amigos Chicagos pizza! This place is so good and the best pizza in San Antonio! They made the perfect crust and their topping and sauce is always fresh! I have never had a bad experience in the many years I have been a customer. It’s a very clean environment and the owners are very friendly. Plus there are TVs! Great low lunch specials as well!

This place isn’t Chicago’s anymore, it’s Amigo’s Chicago Pizza and it was delicious. I just went in randomly cause Subway next door wasn’t taking cards and I was on lunch break. The lady who took my order was super sweet; I got 2 pieces of hot pizza and a drink for $ 6 — not bad at all! I’d go back to try their Chicago style, since they didn’t have any when I went.

************BYOB********** Mr and my wife went here for the first time on a Friday afternoon. From the rest we didn’t expect anything fancy but we gave it a try since neither of us has tried a Chicago style pizza. It was very hot inside but the Owner(I’m guessing) said the A/C had just went out. We ordered ans stayed anyway. For the inconvenience, he brought us two free slices of pizza while we waited on the Chi-style. Lastly the pizza was awesome. We ordered a small and we aren’t small eaters lol I only could finish one slice but it felt like a I ate two. THISPIZZAISHUGE even a small is more than enough. ******[[[ BYOB ]]]]*****

Ordered from this place twice. First time no problem. Second time, several problems. I spent $ 20 on a small seafood pizza. Although it’s a bit pricey for imatiation crab meat and shrimp, I decided to give it a try. I wish I would’ve looked at the order before the delivery guy left because I would’ve sent it right back where it came from! I was so pissed when I opened that box and saw a completely uncut pizza!!! Because I just moved I didn’t have a knife and my boyfriend and I ate the pizza with a plastic fork. Ruining the whole pizza experience! I also ordered the brownie sundae… OMG!!! I thought they would’ve at least separated the ice cream from the brownie but NOPE! They put the ice cream on the brownie so when it got to me it was ice cream soup on top of a soggy brownie. I won’t be ordering from this place again. Really disappointed

It was a good pie. I got the Chicago deep dish with pepperoni. I suggest getting a vegetable rather than a meat on this pie since its just so heavy duty. We got a medium for 2. Plenty left over and I can kill some pizza. For example, I easily can consume a large pizza(pizza hut large thin crust) on my own 10 min or less effortlessly. I recommend it. It’s not amazing, but it’s good. It takes approx 40 min to get the pie made so prepare for a wait.

This place used to be excellent but is now under new management. The tables were dirty, no napkins, no such thing as free water and the pizza is absolutely disgusting… there’s a reason it used to be packed but now is empty. Save yourself the waste of money.

I lived in Chicago, and I know deep dish pizza. This place has the real deal! It isn’t as good as Giordano’s or Lou Malnati’s, but I’ll put it above Pequod’s! I knocked off stars, however, because the interior smelled like bleach.

I like deep dish and have been to Uno’s, Geno’s East, etc. multiple times. Got the lunch special for $ 7 and change. The by-the-slice pizza lunch special took a little bit longer than I would have expected, about 15 – 20 minutes to be served. The salad was very basic and a smaller portion than I would have liked. The pizza was lukewarm when it finally arrived, and I was again a little surprised at the small slice. The pizza was good but not spectacular. For a dollar more you can go down the street to Ray’s and get a big salad and a big NY style slice. I’ll try the Chicago’s on Blanco though. Same owners?

Pros: friendly staff, well priced lunch special — pizza, salad and drink for under $ 7, TV showing movies. Cons: pizza was small, crust was crunchy, place was small, soda in a can for beverage.

Being from Chicago, I know deep dish. This is the closest I’ve come yet to it. The crust was superb, the sauce had the zip and taste just like in Chicago, ingredients were fresh the only thing is the sausage it is small bits, I’m used to fresh sausage the size of a quarter on pizza. Giving it a 4.5 out of 5 and definitely will be the place I order pizza. Also got a free salad with my order which was superb as well. Included black olives, carrots, cucumbers, and banana peppers.
