Crystal clear and cool waters, capable lifeguards posted on duty, a decent concession stand, and well-qualified swimming instructors make this municipal pool a winner. This is my son’s second year of lessons and he is learning to swim like a boss! Aside from the main Olympic sized pool there is a smaller, deeper pool with a slide and a kiddie wading pool as well. There are plenty of places to hide in shade too. The swimming lessons are the biggest draw for us as we have a pool at home, despite that we are considering a family membership as well. We love Heights Pool and swimming lessons here have become a summer tradition. I can’t recommend them enough for that. Come and check it out, you will be glad that you did!

The pool is worth the membership price. CLEAN, never too crowded, more than enough lawn chairs and shade, decent concessions available, comfortable. .. and did I say, CLEAN! Seriously, I am not a «going to the pool» person, but I actually like hanging out here while the kids swim. For adults there are swim lanes open all of the time, and every hour there is a 10-minute adult swim. The kids have fun on the diving boards and splashing around.

We used to go here as kids, many, many years ago. So it was a lot of fun bringing my kids here for several afternoons when they were visiting their grandparents. The pool has greatly improved since I was a kid! They have, however, removed the 3, 5, and 10 meter diving platforms(I’m sure that was for insurance purposes). Why do I like this pool? To start with, it’s a HUGE pool! It has a super large swimming area with a couple of dedicated swim lanes. It also boasts a slide and diving board as well as a kiddie pool. Additionally, there is a kitchen /grill with the usual things(grilled cheese, hot dog, hamburger), but what makes it awesome is that it serves beer! :) There are also a ton of lawn chairs and ample shade. I hope you enjoy the Alamo Heights Swimming Pool as much as we did.

Great pool. I was able to swim laps for a little exercise several times each week this summer. People were very friendly and willing to share the lane if all lanes were full, the pool was clean and the staff friendly. There is a separate pool for diving and the slide and for the toddlers. I often found young children playing with their families in one area while senior adults walked in the pool for safe exercise. I didn’t try the grill but my family said it was pretty good and it was always busy.

I am new to the ’09 and not accustomed to sweaty sweltering summers. This is the place to be – snacks, wine and beer on ice, huge pool — it’s like an oasis of cool in the middle of this boiling hot town. I love the simple wine spritzers served in styrofoam over crushed ice. Ahhh.

We love the pool! Fun for kids and adults. We join every Summer and it’s totally worth the price. They have a baby pool, large over Olympic sized pool and separate deep pool with slide and diving board. Poolside grill has full menu, snacks, ice cream(a must!) and best of all — beer and wine! If kids get bored swimming, there is basketball, volleyball, tetherball, and ping pong. It’s a blast and a necessity for the Summer!!!
