On the pricier side, but they do good work and timely completion!

Great refinishers. I took in two chairs & three small tables — they immediately told me that two of the tables were probably not worth the cost of refinishing(so they’re honest). They did a great job on the two chairs and remaining table. Kept me updated on the process — at one point to let me know they weren’t able to get all the old black stain off one of the chairs and they gave me options of things they could do. Final results were excellent and completed in less time than they originally estimated. People were polite and pleasant to work with. Couple of points to remember: — this is not a fancy showroom — this is a working facility with skilled people getting their hands dirty — so if you’re hyper sensitive to smells like wood shavings, stripping & staining chemicals, etc — then fyi. — refinishing furniture isn’t cheap because of all the labor involved. These folks are very reasonable price-wise but that doesn’t mean dirt cheap — it’s worth it IMO to maintain good quality antique furniture(which will last for centuries if you take care of it). My price points: $ 125 to strip & refinish the small side table, & $ 450 for each of the oak chairs to take them apart, re-glue /re-stabilize them, and then strip & refinish them. I’d definitely do business with Ace again.

i have had a few important pieces done at this business.(And more are on the way.) Most recently a pair of chairs, reupholstered in 1880’s French silk. They would not look out of place in the private apartments at Buckingham Palace. The workmanship is nothing short of exquisite. They’ve redone a mirrored shelf, a clock, a sword chair for my home as well. Their work is not for the modest budget. But it is worth it, if you value your furnishings and want it redone to the highest standard. «You get what you pay for» certainly applies here. They take the time to get it done correctly and the owner is a wonderful person to work with with standards of quality that one usually associates with a bygone era. This is the only place I will entrust(or endorse) our antiques to be restored. Their attention to detail will preserve quality pieces long after we are gone from this world.
