I am active duty military and I come back to Texas every six months or so to see family. I have a regular studio where I practice but I have been searching for a good place to hold me over when I am in Texas for a week or two and AC Power Yoga is it!!! As soon as I walked in I was warmly welcomed not only by the instructor, but by the other students as well! This is exactly the atmosphere where I normally practice and I was thrilled to find this place! Plus!!! The first class is free! This is a wonderful way to check things out before having to throw down money and realize it is not your thing. I am huge«Hot» fan and this is my fix when I am home. The one and only thing that keeps this place from being absolutely perfect… there is nowhere to shower afterwards. I sweat like a beast in class and the place I normally practice has a couple shower stalls i always make use of when I finish. Throw that in and this place is «as good as it gets»!

The best studio in San Antonio — here’s why: 1) Perfect class /studio size: at 5:30PM, there were less than 20 people in the power yoga class. It gave everyone appropriate space and made the room comfortable to navigate 2) Friendly, spirited service and instruction: Amanda was very welcoming. She didn’t push the purchase of items or services, just wished me well for my first class. During the instruction, she adjusted people accurately and maintained support until we got the pose just right. 3) Location: There are not enough fantastic small businesses downtown, or in San Antonio overall. This single-room studio was extremely clean and organized. 4) Affortability & Schedule: The prices are less expensive than competitors, because they are reasonable. The schedule is posted in-store and online and offers just the right amount of classes. One AM, one midday, and three PM classes make it accessible for all schedules.

My absolute favorite studio whenever I’m in the San Antonio area. The practice is a mix of traditional Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Baptiste, and Sridaiva. I’ve never tried Sridaiva, but I’ve been hearing all the raves about the bowspring stuff, so I will have to drop in and give that a try one of these days. The instructors are AMAZING! I had an unlimited monthly pass($ 75 for first timers, I think), and I enjoyed every single class that I took, even when I thought I was going to die/get stuck in a pose. I experienced the teaching styles of 5 different instructors, and I can say that I’ve never been so impressed at the level of consistency they displayed across the board. Their professionalism is unmatched. They were easy to follow, coached/adjusted me when needed, and challenged me every step of the way, even on those days when I was probably their most experienced student in the room. Absolutely memorable! Highly, highly recommended.

Wife is a member here so since I had a Friday off, I decided to join her for a session. Have done a bit of Bikram Yoga while in Hawaii and enjoyed it although I normally sweated through about four towels and pretty much disgusted anyone around me! AC Yoga studio doesn’t offer Bikram but the Power Vinyasa Yoga they do was right up my alley. The studio isn’t very big(holds about 15 people comfortably) but is heated admirably and they have all the accessories you need(blocks, belts, you name it). The only drawback to the studio is the close approximation to Broadway Ave; can be a little lound and un-Zen when a lot of traffic is going by. Joey led our session; definitely very experienced in teaching and helped the newer students get into the correct positions without being overbearing. Prices are definitely very reasonable($ 15 for drop ins and single classes) and offer a discount to a wide range of people(military, teachers, students, etc.). Trying to figure out what package to get now so I can continue stretching my body!

So happy that this studio opened — the location is terrific, much is accomplished in one hour, the teachers are warm, and the atmosphere is friendly. I wish they had mid-morning classes.

I came here yesterday for the first time with a friend. I arrived 15 minutes late(not yoga etiquette, I know, but we got lost). Right when we walked in, Amanda(owner/instructor) welcomed us in and invited us to join the class. The next 45 minutes of class was the most enjoyable yoga experience I’ve had in my few years of off/on practice. I’ve never done«hot» yoga, and wasn’t sure what to expect. The room is only heated to 90 degrees, but you WILL be dripping sweat from your chin, nose, eyelashes, etc within 5 minutes. Keep in mind, this doesn’t necessarily make the practice more difficult. I think it serves as a «detox» factor and makes it easier for your body to move. There were only 4 other women in class, which made the setting a little more intimate and allowed for us to try out new poses and get more feedback from Amanda. The first thing I noticed was that this is NOT a swanky/fad yoga studio. It’s an inviting space with instructors who don’t take their practice too seriously to not have fun. Remember, YOURFIRSTCLASSISFREE and new members can sign up for an unlimited month for only $ 75. I will definitely be getting a membership here, and I look forward to coming back again and again.

This is a warm(figuratively and literally) and inviting studio. I was on a quest to find the right fit and have found it here. The atmosphere /energy is intimate but not intimidating. Whether you are brand new to Yoga or have been practicing for years, you will feel at home here. I love this studio!!!

Next time I am in San Antonia, I am definitely unrolling my mat at AC Power Yoga! Amanda delivers such a powerful vinyasa class where breath and flow are linked with great precision to make the challenging flow seem so easy while the whole time you are sweat dripping wet from the challenge! I have been to so many classes Across the US and this one was a ten star performance! If traveling through the area, be sure to take 60 – 90 minutes for yourself and check at this studio!

I’m going to start this review by echoing the sentiment of the previous reviewers. «I Love this place»! Really, I do. I will be honest, I am new to the yoga scene but can tell you that ACPY is super nice and very inviting to those of all levels. If you are new, you feel welcomed and at ease. If you are a seasoned practitioner, I’m told by others they get a lot of out the classes. Amanda is one of the main instructors and she is wonderful. She is knowledgeable, calming and sometimes entertaining. lol As a semi-newbie I have felt very comfortable with the environment, even being mixed in with some advanced level students. Amanda makes sure you feel good about what you are doing at whatever level you are at. She is also very good about giving you tips and offering encouraging words. Also, the studio itself is nice and clean. And for a hot yoga studio, ACPY seems to always smell great. Seriously! I highly recommend going or at least trying out A.C. Power Yoga. This place has been one of the best things I’ve stumbled upon and I believe you might discover the same. Note: First class is free!
