I have called Alpine Appliance on two occasions and have been satisfied both times. They diagnosed the problems quickly and had parts available when they arrived. I was not overcharged or surprised. He also has enough repairmen that a service call was scheduled within 24 hours. After speaking with the business owner, I learned they do work for several Marin property management companies and home warranty companies. That is a vote of approval as a consumer! I have no hesitation in recommending Alpine Appliance.

Alpine was sent to us under Fidelity National Home Warranty to look into our Broan exhaust fan, Miele dishwasher and SubZero refrigerator. Richard spent 25 minutes on the dishwasher trying to fix the door and have dishes cleaned properly. Next he spent 20 minutes on the SubZero to balance the cool and cold as well as have the ice maker produce ice. Finally he looked at the exhaust fan and stated he could not fix it. He informed us that he would talk to his boss about removing the SubZero from the wall to investigate further. Two weeks later another contractor scheduled an appointment with us(Advantage Appliance) to replace Alpine. I asked why are you here and not Alpine and they stated that Alpine«bailed on the project». Two weeks later, Alpine called back to schedule a follow up and i told them another contractor came and provided a «diagnosis». Note: The second contractor, Advantage, clearly stated that Alpine peeled off model #‘s of a dishwasher so it could not be identified. When I asked Alpine about this they stated«we do not work on Miele brand equipment». I asked why would they come out to look at it and spend about 30 minutes on it. No response. No follow up call either. They did however cash the check I gave them. Not to be trusted.

Sold us a washing machine which broke after installation. The Alpine guy knew exactly what the problem was when we called because he knew the machine! Well, thanks for selling us a broken machine. Then he charged us to come out and fix it. Do you want the same story? If not, go somewhere else.

Two stars– we’re not sure whether the issue is resolved after 2 visits. The overall experience was SO unpleasant with the owner that we would not call this company again. He was both dismissive and condescending as though we were imagining the problem, just for something to do. Interestingly, the filtered reviews do mention how rude and unprofessional he was. I’m sorry I didn’t dig deeper.

My experience was the same as Judy G. The door on our Sears microwave oven is falling apart and you can’t get parts for it any more. We just need it to hang together a couple more months until we remodel the kitchen, so I called Alpine to see if they could help. The guy who answered explained that those microwaves have metal screws screwed into plastic, and once the plastic starts going there’s nothing to be done. «I could charge you to come out and duct tape it,» he joked, and then recommended we get a new microwave. «I can duct tape it myself,» I replied, and that’s what I did. Lots of brownie points for not suggesting a paid-for service call he knew was pointless. Next time we need an appliance repair, Alpine is my go-to.

The company is very responsive, as they always return service calls very promptly. Richard was the repair technician who arrived on time the very morning after my call. He was very proactive to quickly address and correct the necessary dryer repair. He also went out of his way to make me a happy customer ~

Our Microwave oven stopped working. My wife called Alpine Appliance Service and they Ryan came to the house on June 4th2014. Apparently he could not fix the appliance at our home so he removed it and took it to his shop. A few days later he called and told my wife the transformer had gone bad and blown a fuse. The estimate for a new transformer was $ 229.00 in parts plus labor. On June 18, 2013(two weeks later) Ryan and another gentleman showed up with the Microwave and proceeded to put it back in the cabinet. My wife had called and asked for the old parts. Ryan brought in the old transformer with one of the terminals a bit burned and a spot on the transformer casing where a frayed wire apparently shorted. I’m an electrical engineer by training and know a little about transformers and wires. I got out the multimeter and tested the part. The only thing wrong with the part was a burned terminal. The terminal was burned but not badly. I found a clean terminal and it slipped over the existing terminal just fine. The transformer did not need to be replaced. A wire could have easily been soldered on to the terminal. At the same time we had two door springs replaced for $ 56.00 each(parts only). Labor was $ 295 I guess mostly in transportation cost. In this day and age, trustworthy repair services are important. Alpine is not trustworthy and we won’t be using them again.

He was the first to call me back and it was around the holidays when my fridge broke down. He came as soon as he could(weeks sooner than others aka the next day). Then, did not waste a second. I never had to do a thing such as manage my food and he was in and out with min. cost.

I called to get my microwave fixed because it was suddenly arching and sounded like it had been demonically possessed. I was picturing having to replace the whole built in microwave/convection oven and was terrified. The man at Alpine told me what he thought the problem was over the phone. A small cover needed to be replaced that i was able to order on line from an appliance part dealer. One day and $ 15 later i replaced the part and the microwave is FIXED! I will use Alpine for any appliance problems i ever have in the future. This wonderful man just won a loyal customer for life.

Alpine Appliance is a fantastic, trustworthy small business. They sourced us a very nice low cost used dishwasher and installed it today, even though I wasn’t able to be around for the process. Highly recommended.
