Ever since moving to Seattle, this has been my favorite teriyaki place. The sushi is amazing too. People keep asking for recommendations, so this is it!

Stopped in early evening for a couple of sushi rolls to go. Got the jumbo California roll for myself which was probably the best I’ve had in a long time — wasn’t all mayo-ey, the rice was perfect(not mushy and not too hard), and just a little crunch from cucumbers. Picked up a spicy tuna roll for the hubby but he didn’t like his as much — said it didn’t have much flavor and he wouldn’t get that roll again. Just a heads up, their wasabi didn’t have much heat and so I had to add some of my own from home to get the heat I wanted. I’ll also ask for more ginger next time bc there wasn’t enough for the jumbo roll — they gave the reg and jumbo rolls the same size portion of the ginger. I’ll still be back bc they’re on the plateau, I loved my California roll, and I want to try their chicken or veggie stir fry next time and I saw the chicken stir fry on their lunch special menu. Will update once I try those! (Update) Tried their chicken stir fry lunch special and wow it’s a big serving! The salad dressing they use is really good but I didn’t realize it came with it bc I let it sit steaming with the lunch for half an hour :(. The chicken stir fry with veggies was good — 4 stars but I added some heat to it. Lots of cabbage, broccoli, bell peppers and chicken.

Lunch Special: 2 med-sized California Rolls, $ 8.99… filling! I had enuf left over for another snack! Ialso recommend the Stir-Fry Veggies plus Tofu, if they lightly sautě… huge portion of veggies vs rice! All good!

Small, pricy and spicy pork was way too spicy for me. They offer a tiny salad on the side, but a nice amount of meat. They have very small sushi for a tough price. Go to bento 15 feet away from them…

We got the«two sushi rolls for the price of one». One roll is $ 15.99 or so… so basically a roll is $ 8…lunch special 11ish to 3ish. We got four rolls and left a large tip. So I guess at dinner hour a roll is $ 15.99 for the spider roll, which is a but pricey. Spider roll… lots of fake crab and one sliver of soft shell crab. The better sushi roll we had. But good. Not very flavorful. Spicy scallop roll. Have no idea why they call this spicy scallop roll as it had lots of fake crab, slice of tempura and TINY, TINY Sliver of scallop… I had to bust my roll to find the scallop which was the thickness of my chopstick. I was expecting a roll with scallop in it as the main and only ingredient in it. Not a roll that was fake crab, a slice of tempura something and tiny, tiny scallop. Had I known this, I would have not gotten this. The roll was unappealing and tasted very bland. I could not finish this. Tuna roll. The tuna was very dark, like deep burgundy and old. An off taste to it. Not fresh but passable. Having said that it did contain a good amount of tuna. Would have been better it if was fresh. Large roll. Salmon roll. It was good but some of the salmon was chewy. But lots of salmon. Large roll. Overall, not impressed with the large amount of fake crab they used in the Spider and Scallop roll. The quality of the fish was a C. Presentation was an A. Size of roll was large. I saw some lunch plates go by and the amount of main food was small. Every single one. So based on that I will not order the lunch plate. I don’t know if they come by to give tea refills but they never did so I didn’t worry. I l did let the sushi chef know I was not happy about the scallop roll(lack of scallop) and he didn’t care. Tea was very good and they have a nice cold fridge for lots of warned most of the rolls are full of the fake crab and not much what they claim to have in it

We made the mistake of dining in yesterday. So hot! It felt hotter inside than out. Everybody else was doing take-out and we should have done the same. But I didn’t feel like doing any dishes. For such a casual place, prices seem a little high. But the portion sizes are decent and quality seems to be there. I ordered a Seattle roll, my husband had the tofu yakisoba and my son the teriyaki pork bento. The roll was expensive but large for the price and it had a lot of salmon. I’m used to much smaller sushi pieces. Larger pieces are nice because you can actually taste the fish, but they were also a lot harder to pick up and eat and less cohesive. Still, I think I preferred these to the more standard smaller rolls. The salmon inside seemed to be good quality and melted in my mouth. The tofu in the yakisoba dish proved to be fried which we do not like. But it was easy to pull off the batter. The noodles themselves came with lots of cabbage but only a token amount of other veggies. Rather disappointing although I did like the flavor of the Chinese 5 spice they used. This doesn’t seem typical of other yakisoba dishes I have had. My son loved his bento box, but what kid wouldn’t? The only thing he didn’t eat was the salad :). Because it was a full size bento box we were able to share some of it with his sister. We also ordered a side of miso soup for her. Miso soup was much more strongly flavored than typical. We like it that way but it may be too salty for some. A good option for a quick, close dinner out.

It’s hard for me to write a 3 star review because there’s nothing that stands out for me to rave about or anything horrible that I feel the need to complain about. This place is added to the very small list of places to get lunch around the suburban Sammamish Plateau area. It is closed on Sundays, but when it is open, try to come during the lunch special hours because prices can be decent for a fulfilling meal. Located in the QFC shopping area, there’s another teriyaki place within very close walking distance, but I’ll let you try both and be the judge of which is better!

Bento box was enough food for two people, fresh, delicious and a great price. Will be back for more sushi next time!

Was not satisfied with the experience. Sushis were small and didn’t taste good. Customer service was poor. Didn’t even feel filled after. There are other options nearby

My fiancée was raving about this place after going a few times and asked me to go with her tonight. I had the Teriyaki Pork bento and was a little skeptical before tasting it. I was pleasantly surprised! Everything had rich flavors and tasted fresh. The staff were very nice also. We’ll definitely eat here again.

We love this place! We can get good, healthy food in a pinch! I like spicy chicken… the kids like gyoza and the standard chicken and beef plate… not crazy about the salad. My kids also like California rolls. If your in the area and need some quick healthy food you can’t go wrong.

We are avid sushi consumers. We went for a hike in the Sammamish, visited an extraordinary winery and stopped here for a bite to eat. A plain udon, a chicken teriyaki and two roles. The udon had one piece of a very thin fish cake and tasted exactly like a $ 1.50 store bought udon noodles from an Asian grocery store except I can make better! The teriyaki sauce also tasted like a store bought sauce and was a little acidic. The roles were humongous, but the fish weren’t defrosted properly and were a little frozen. Needless to say, we were disappointed, but the owners seemed like nice folks.

I’ve gotten teriyaki here several times and it’s always been… OK. Not great, but OK. We usually get chicken breast teriyaki and gyoza and it’s always pretty good, but the quality of the chicken is usually not quite as good as some other places in the area. Perhaps it’s the sauce — They have a much more savory sauce, where I prefer a slightly sweeter flavor. Once I ordered the Sushi and it was quite nice, but I got a really chewy chunk of Tuna on some Nigiri once that I haven’t been able to get over. The rolls, however, are excellent. All in all, it’s not a bad place, but I feel like there are better options in the area, at least for my taste buds.

My 50th review! Celebrating the awesome Himitsu Teriyaki today! This place is what we call a «twofer» aka Two-For-One! The corner of the building restaurant in the Pine Lake Village is home to my favorite Teriyaki place and THEBEST sushi bar on the plateau! The food is cooked to order, quickly, expertly and very fresh! Have a favorite sushi roll? Ask them to prepare it «crunchy» rolled in their decadent panko mix — it takes a «good» California roll up to «WOW!!!» Make sure you have a few minutes to study both menus before you order. This is definitely the kind of place that attracts many different taste buds. I caught myself last time wishing I’d ordered a bowl of miso soup too! The kid next to me had a bowl and it’s savory green onions and miso fragrance wafted over and teased me terrible. It’s on my list to add for next time for sure! Of course if you’re in a hurry — order the chicken teriyaki. Everyone likes it — young and old. You can’t go wrong with the gold standard teriyaki dish!

Hit or miss 3⁄5 times I’ve been have been very disappointing. Rice undercooked or there ridiculously oversized sushi rolls. Staff super nice though.

This was one shady Teriyaki joint with so so food. I asked for chicken yakisoba and the cashier rang it up. As I was signing the credit card slip, I asked if that was the lunch special since my bill was over $ 12.00. She said yes it was so I asked why the bill was so high. She said«oh it isn’t the lunch special, you have to ask». Ugh. So partly my fault but she could have clarified it. Oh well — buyers beware. The food was so so. It wasn’t great for yakisoba. Too many veggies for my taste and not enough noodles. The sauce was tasty and that was the only bright spot in my visit. I guess there is a better Teriyaki joint by the Safeway up the road so I will check that out next time! I won’t be going back.

Pretty nice teriyaki restaurant. Definitely what you would expect but with a slightly better tasting teriyaki than the rest. They also recently remodeled and although the interior isn’t anything out of a Crate and Barrel catalog, it does look fairly nice. Bottom line: If you’re in the mood for teriyaki and close to this place you should stop by.

We stopped in for teriyaki and had to order to go. It was sooo hot in there! So hot I didn’t eat my salad afraid that the dressing may have been left out. They have ac but just don’t use it. Yeah! The portions were super small the chicken dry. Not a good way to compete with the neighbor.

Hmitsu was sold a year or so ago and the new owners have vastly improved the quality. It is not the best teriyaki I have ever had — but we are not discussing a gourmet food item. It is pretty good. The new owners have, however, added a very good sushi bar that is excellent. Without the sushi bar I would give it 3 stars — but with the sushi it is 4 stars.
