Great to find this little gem in SLC. Could testify that it is authentic Chinese food. Recommend their all you can eat hot pot and Hui Guo Rou. The lady owner is also fun to talk to. Thumbs up!

If you like authentic Chinese food, this is definitely the place to go. Great dumplings on new year eve.

Not so Yum Yum. Had lunch there today and Mt stomach is uncomfortably gurgling. It’s a dirty, old and dilapidated building. Food was below average. Filled the void but that’s it. Pot stickers tasted like Kroger brand store bought. Cashew Chicken was bland and chicken low quality. Pass pass on Yum Yum.

I was on one of my long evening walks, and it hit me. I want Chinese food. Real Chinese food. I didn’t want Panda(well, I never want Panda). Nor did I want Pei Wei, P.F. Changs, or any other strip mall, Chinese/American dreck. I wanted something real. I’d read about Yum Yum on Unilocal, and felt this choice would surely meet my needs. What a surreal experience. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was in for something different. The first person to greet me looked stunned. He clearly spoke no English, and disappeared to the back to get someone who apparently could. She couldn’t either. Look, I’m not complaining. This is what I wanted. But I clearly did not belong. The place was full of large Chinese families, chattering away, and clearly enjoying their evening. No whiteys. Again. Awesome. This was the type of establishment I was seeking. I was sat unceremoniously in a corner. No attention. No service. No acknowledgment. So after fifteen minutes, I got up and asked for it. I’ve traveled to Hong Kong, and I frequent places like Mom’s Kitchen and Café Ahn Hong, so I understand that ‘food service’ is less obsequious than in America. I wasn’t expecting some hipster kissing my ass. But I would like to be treated as though my patronage was welcome. I ordered the ‘Chinese Beef Bun’ Appetizer, the ‘Pork and Preserved Egg Soup’, and an eggplant dish with ‘special sauce’. After about a thirty minute wait, the food finally arrived. Thank goodness for my Unilocal app to pass the time! Anyway, the beef buns were adequate, but there were no condiments to liven it up. The eggplant was smothered in hoisin and oyster sauce, and very heavy and overly sweet. There was some chopped pork in the dish, which helped, but the pig flesh was not advertised on the menu. I never got my soup. I had to practically insist on paying my bill. The experience lasted well over an hour. The cultural component was interesting. And I’m sure there are excellent dishes to be found somewhere on that menu. But my experience was extremely disappointing.

I love this place. It is usually not busy at all, which is surprising because it is pretty good food. They usually give us pot stickers for free, and their egg drop soup is delicious!

Went here for lunch. I had a better experience with cheap microwaveable Chinese food than I did here. It just seems like they don’t care… Probably a drug front.

Don’t let the outside appearance scare you off. To be honest I only went here because someone had to have Chinese but now I like to come here because the food is great.

I drove by here, running errands today and was kind of in the mood for Chinese food. It was Saturday afternoon, very slow business wise and I was the only other person besides a table of 5 – 6 people. I ordered a Saturday special, $ 5.99, included fried rice, paperwrapped chicken and soup, along with my choice of General Tso’s chicken. The chicken was pretty spicy so if you aren’t into that… Everything tasted just the way you expect in a place like this. Not gourmet food, not awful, plenty of it and prompt service. There are so many places like this in Salt Lake I’m not sure I’d make a special trip here but it was just what I was looking for.

Can I give negative stars on here? I wish I could share and opine on how good the food is but unfortunately I was never given the opportunity to even taste their food. We got sat down by the hostess and 10 mins later they finally came to take order. Now to her credit she did warn and say they were super busy with these tour groups coming in so it might be longer wait. So we asked how long it would be and she said probably 20 mins from when we order. So we were like ok maybe it’s worth the wait? Well 40 mins later the waiter came out and said«we just can’t accommodate you at this time.» And kicked Us out. WHAT?!? I’ve never been any place so unprofessional! We should’ve taken notice when another table next to us left early because it took them too long to order. WOW this place is something… Do you even know how to run a business? This might fly in China but this ain’t China anymore. If you know you have tour groups put a sign out and say private party tonight and just turn away regular business right away… OR you could just hire more people or something Piss poor management I feel sorry for you guys… Anyways good luck!

I came here for lunch a few days ago. I have only been here the one time, and I don’t think I’ll be back. Honestly I’m not sure how this place keeps in business. Maybe I came on an off day. But I really don’t think so. When I walked into yum yum kitchen, there was one table with 3 people seated in the dining room. It was obvious that these people were either friends with or related to employees at the restaurant. Otherwise the restaurant was completely empty. When I am tired I didn’t see a sign saying to see myself and I didn’t see a sign that said wait to be seated so I just stood there in the entrance waiting for somebody to find me. I waited about 2 minutes. When I was finally acknowledged it was by a young Asian woman who simply said to me sit. I sat down and a few minutes later she brought a menu. I’m relatively adventurous and willing to try new things so when reading the menu I found an item that looked interesting but I wasn’t sure how it was cooked. I choose not to eat anything that is deep fried. So I asked the waitress if the item was deep fried. She did not understand what I meant. I understand that there was a language barrier, & I do not expect everyone to speak English as well as I do. However, when I go into a restaurant I expect the server to be able to answer simple questions about the food I am ordering. This was not possible. I ended up choosing something that I knew would not have then deep fried. But that item is not available. I was told they were very busy and ran out of the items. So I then ordered something else. They were also out of this item. Finally I asked her to recommend something because I was tired being told they were out of what I wanted. When the food came it was delicious. I’m not sure what it was but I very much enjoy that. This meal came with soup and appetizer and the entrée and cost less than $ 6. I ended up tipping $ 2 even though I shouldn’t have left anything. The waitress was so incompetent and utterly useless that I wouldn’t even consider returning even for very delicious food. Also while I was here I heard the waitress make a telephone call to someone who had apparently ordered take out food and tell them that the item they had ordered was not available and they just order something else. She did not apologize she simply said we’re out of this do you want something else. While I was still there the person came to pick up the order. The person picking up the order was extremely frustrated. He asked if it was possible to have a discount because they didn’t have what he wanted. The server was extremely rude to him and basically said if you don’t want it you can leave. I did notice a tour group arriving as I was leaving. I don’t know why these tour groups are coming here but my guess is it’s the only thing keeping them alive. I’m shocked that this place is in business based upon the service I received and the service that gentleman ordering takeout received. Maybe the tour groups are the only customers they need.

Placed order for delivery. This place is literally a mile from my house. An hour later My husband called to ask the status and simply got that they were busy and she hung up. Two hours pass. I call and tell her to cancel my order since it wasn’t coming and to refund me. Girl on the other end muttered something and hung up on me. I call back and she set the phone aside and said nothing. I wanted to make sure she was actually going to refund me. I had to call back again and asked her to verify that she was going to. She sighed with an attitude and said yes. Seriously? An actual apology for crappy service goes a long way. I’ve ordered from these guys or picked up at their establishment easily a dozen times. Not anymore.

I stopped by this place with my parents since I am a big fan of northern Chinese food. Once we sat down, we were impressed by their menu at first. Very nice variety. Unfortunately, when I started ordering from the menu, the dishes were either unavailable or would take too long to cook. The boss lady even raised the voice when telling me ‘no’. After some ‘negotiation’, we settled with three dishes. They tasted ok. The waiter and waitress were friendly too. I just wish the boss lady would do more to make customers feel welcomed at her restaurant.

Most disgusting place I ever been to. Not to mention the food is average, the service is the worst. I asked for no green onion and onion in the fried rice. The only showed bad attitude because of my request. When they serve the dish, my fried rice only has egg and white rice. Not even added soy sauce in it. I tried to talk to the owner, but her bad attitude continue the same. THEMOST angry part is I asked to lower the price since there is nothing in it, she refuse by saying I give you what you request and demand me to leave tips. It turned out that I pay for white rice with egg for $ 11. What a ‘nice’ place!!!

I thought this place would be good but I was wrong. The service was horrible and the server kept checking out my wife. And they try to over price us. We order a $ 25.00 family plate for 3 and the bill came to $ 44.25. And how is that logical they own the place and they can’t tell between $ 25 and $ 44.25 plate. And the pot stickers is way over priced. The plate had 6 potsticker and it cost $ 6.25 so that like a $ 1 a potsticker.

We enjoyed the traditional Chinese breakfast fare. The pork with preserved duck egg soup was delicious and the fried bread sticks were fresh and crunchy. I really liked the green crêpe with eggs too!

Hi I’m too lazy to thaw my own frozen food so I’m going to come here. It gets one star at best but the food is below average. I ordered the beef and broccoli and it was too salty while my rice was cold. The staff looked annoyed when i asked to have My rice warmed up and never came to my table to refill drinks. I would rather eat at Panda Express before this
