This bar is small. But awesome if your looking for a quick drink, no hard alcohol only beer. 8 beers on draft and a couple of bottles. Biggest size they serve is a pint. Check it out!

This place is a staple in the heart of Sugarhouse. They have stood strong as the atmosphere around them continues to mold itself into the hipster landscape that is sweeping the Salt Lake streets. The owners are awesome, the staff is nice, the beer is cheap and cold. Not much more you can ask for in a bar that holds maybe 15 people comfortably. Come here and stay out of the chain bars. Your bill will be much less at the end of the night and you will meet some great people along the way.

You will walk by and miss it — maybe a few times! It’s across the street from whole foods. No sign — but it’s the only front that looks like a tiny house. They only serve beer(a few on tap and some bottled) but it’s the quaintest little neighborhood bar! Bartender is awesome and super friendly. Go and have a beer then go around the corner for dinner at wasatch brew or flatbreads. Love this area of Slc!

This is the best hole yet! People talk about great places but this is home. Home town feel goods & good bartenders. It’s super tiny bit everyone will talk to you. You are not missed. I will be back & so will you.

Let me start off by saying that Jeremy is awesome. Very attentive, funny, and easy to get along with. He made my first time at The Bar a good one. This place is tiny. I’ve actually walked by it several times without noticing that it was even there. Everything is cheap(super!), they have a golfing game(awesome!), and the jukebox has SO many songs to choose from(crazy!)

This is a great bar with friendly staff and a great mix of people come here to drink. I’ve been coming to this bar for over a long time and it is my go to Sugarhouse bar

Too small, only fjnger foods and only serves beer… no liquor. Still, its a great dive bar with a loud juke box &TV for a quick beer with a few buddies. Seems like the regulars have their names etched into each individual bar stool so its pretty intimidating asking if I can sit vs. Stand… ugh!

Quaint and cozy. The bartenders are attentive and the price is right. If you live nearby, this should be your neighborhood bar. I will be back –again and again!

My very favorite SLC beer bar. Extremely friendly staff… especially Sara! Great jukebox. Patrons are all very personable and friendly. Beware! It will SUCK you in! That can either be good or bad… depending on where you are in life. :)

Excellent dive bar! We were vacationing and found it on a Tuesday night — the vibe was great! At about midnight the owners showed up and bought the whole(small) bar a round! The locals were conversational, welcoming, and we really enjoyed it. Only thing that would have made it better is if Utah would allow taverns to serve full-strength beer :).

Cute teeny bar with lots of personality. I was visiting SLC this past weekend and we stopped in for a quick drink on the way back to my friend’s house — a friendly bartender and patrons and decent prices, along with its novel architecture, will have us heading back. FYI — We immediately scored bar stools because it was late and fairly empty, but I could see it becoming a sardine can during busy times.

This place is always a great hangout spot. Really small beer only bar in a hut that always has good people hanging around. A couple of tv’s for watching a game as well. Definitely worth stopping by in sugarhouse.

Quiet, small, just enough TV screens to catch a ballgame over a pint after work. Gonna be my new happy hour hangout, I think.

The Bar in Sugarhouse is great. Small, cheap, and divey, it meets all of my requirements for a nice time. The atmosphere was very friendly and there is a jukebox! It’s beer only, but nevertheless, I definitely recommend The Bar as a great place to pass a pleasant evening.

Me and my wife were going out for my birthday last night and looked up a few places to get some drinks, this one was on the top of our list. its a very small place(which isn’t bad) that doesn’t have a lot of room for a large group. it was pretty slow(could be because it was a Tuesday night) but the music was up very loud, me and my wife couldn’t hardly speak to each other.(also most of the music being played was«hard core» hip hop and/or rap… meaning lots of swearing and N-words) The bartender on duty seemed to be a lot more interested in the regulars and whale not completely ignoring us she didn’t pay us much mind at all, leaving me with an empty drink for about 5 minutes. all in all we spend $ 5 for a Pabst in a can and on tap Bud light, i would recommend hitting up the Tap Room just down the street instead.

Very different place. Unless you know it’s there and are looking for it I just don’t think you’ll find it. Which is odd because I wasn’t looking for it and I found it, so maybe I’m wrong. However I was looking for a place with food and drinks and was actually stopping because I saw the burger joint next door, Fat’s Grill I think it’s called. Well I never made it to Fat’s because this place enticed me and my buddy. I walked in and it was very tiny but for some reason I don’t feel there’s any reason to be bothered by that. As I walked in I was greeted by the bartender immediately and I mentioned I just need a beer. «Well that’s a good thing, because that’s all we have!» OK, so don’t come here for cocktails, noted. Well I sat down and planned to stay a while but I only had time for one drink. As I was there I noticed everyone was male except for two women at the end of the bar. And nobody seemed to bother them either. It seems like everyone hear knows each other already and just go to hang out. I got my check and the kind bartender thanked me for coming in and gave me two tickets for free tacos from the cart outside. It all felt really personal and I loved it. I may have to come back.

What else can I say but Spencer’s shack in Sugarhouse rules for cheap beer, great conversation on all topics, and elbow rubbing room. This is the place where everyone knows each other, even if you’re from out of town. Grab 2 drafts for $ 3(inflation), a bowl of nuts and watch the beer animals flow through.
