Super what? Wait, what is this place, exactly? I’ve never heard of a Super Saver grocery store before, so when I was nearby getting some grub I knew I had to check it out. If you’re familiar with the SLC grocery store scene, then all I need to do is give you the following comparison, and you’ll just GET it: Super Saver is what would happen if Albertsons and Reams had a baby. Understand? Ya? Perfect. If you’re not versed in the intricacies of the grocery world, it goes something like this: Thy carry all of the Albertsons house brand products inside. But It’s set up like a Reams – a little more warehouse environment and not the attempts and nice touches like you might see a regular Fresh Market(formerly Albertsons) or Smith’s or Safeway. No, this is like open boxes lining the aisleway in the produce section, a no-frills meat section, a few more international goods, and shelves stacked with unfancy groceries. All the areas were there, but I don’t recall it being much of a super savings compared to other grocers. And the location here is not the best and shiniest part of town. But as a grocery store it’s totally functional and well serve you just fine.

I was trying to bring some of my hometown holiday goodness to the in laws(and my own mouth). The recipe called for hot red cherry peppers, but the 7 locations I went to only had sweet red cherry peppers. According to my sister this would simply not suffice. So the journey began with Harmon’s, then A Fresh Market, Viva Market, Reams, WalMart… nothing. Finally, as a last ditch effort I ended up here and whattayaknow? They had the stupid hot peppers and I was so happy. So I imagine I will be back her 2 to 4 times a year every time I need these hot red cherry peppers.

This was an interesting grocery store, there was little bit of everything and size was standard. It is that grocery store right behind the Gossip strip mall. The environment was a little old school. Other than that, I think it was a solid store in this area. The people that work there must have a nice sense of humor too.
