In short I have been to many of America’s best steak houses, and Harbor ranks among them. Their quality of meat is top notch and cooked perfectly. I can’t comment on the sea food because I did not have any. The food presentation was amazing and our waiter Randol(I believe spelled differently was amazing. He is the guy int he video on Unilocal page.) Can’t wait to go back will go here regularly. They also had a nice selection of local beers!!!

I came in on Saint Patty’s day. Ordered the Waygu Corn beef and hash and it hit the spot. Waiter was very knowledgeable and food was served quickly, hot, and very tasty. I will definitely make this one of my go to places when I am in Salt Lake City.

Wow, what an awesome surprise! It doesn’t happen very often but when it does it’s beautiful! Our waiter was knowledgable, informative and so nice! He told us all about the menu, knowing we were first timers and did a great job. The food was delicious and the hip vibe made me feel like I was back in SF. The best seafood in Utah hands down. Will definitely be going back again and again!

I was in town for business with a friend and we wanted seafood so we went on Unilocal and chose Harbor Seafood. They were amazing! I had the Hebi(Short billed Spearfish) and it was one of the best and freshest fish dishes I have tasted, and I have tasted a few here in CA. It came with a choice of sauces but I didn’t use them because the fish was so tasty. Travis was an awesome waiter and took good care of us. He told use their fish is only 12 to 18 hours old from catch to table. We ended the dinner with the crème bruilee pound cake. It is a very creative and delicious dessert. Highly recommend Harbor Seafood on all counts.

This was my first visit to Harbor Seafood & Steak, even though I’ve driven past it probably 1,000 times and never really ever noticed it. My first impression was good as we were greeted at the door with a smile and then led to our table that we had reserved. The décor is great and the bar really adds an ambiance to the room. We started with an order of crab cakes and a Harbor Lemonade to drink which was delicious & refreshing. The crab cakes arrived with a beautiful presentation and they were as flavorful as you could ask. Absolutely delicious. For our entrée’s we decided for one of us to get a steak and one to get the fish special of Mahi-Mahi. The steak was a filet and it literally melted in my mouth. The fish was equally delicious and fresh. For sides, we chose fingerling potato’s(YUMMY) & grilled baby bok choy(YUMMY). The steak dinner came with a blue cheese and bacon au gratin potatoes & peas with pancetta. Completely Divine. We were too full for one of the delicious desserts and since we were heading to a play, didn’t want to take one with us. After we declined dinner & knowing it was my partners birthday, our waiter showed up with a single scoop of raspberry sorbet with a candle in it. It was literally just pureed and frozen, delicious raspberries. Such a nice touch. We had never eaten here before and was only brave enough to try it after reading Unilocal reviews, but I guarantee we’ll be back!

Great food, but a bit overpriced. The Korean short ribs and spear fish were fantastic. The house salad is just lettuce with four grape tomatoes cut in half — not worth $ 8. The clam chowder, on the other hand was worth $ 5 for a cup.

Great drinks! Great apps! Great seafood and steak! I had the cobb salad topped with crab and shrimp… Amazing! One of the best salads I’ve ever had. Friends had seafood pasta, steak and fish dishes, which they loved. Key lime pie was delish. Nice vibe. Loved seeing the chefs at work. Seemed like they put a lot of love into each dish.

My first visit to Harbor was a good one. It’s easy to find, but the parking lot was full and we had to park down the street. The restaurant was very busy and loud, and I kind of wish we had a more intimate table since we were celebrating Valentine’s Day, because it was hard to hear each other and very easy to eavesdrop on other couples’ conversations. The Zabuton Wagyu steak was cooked perfectly at the temperature of medium rare like I had requested, and it was seasoned nicely. I liked the béarnaise sauce that I got with it, but the steak would’ve tasted great alone. The broccolini I got was tasty as well, but I should have skipped the mac n cheese. It was luke-warm in comparison to everything else on my plate and I wish I had chosen a different side. Overall, this was a 4 star experience and I’d return for another special occasion.

Went there for valentines super disappointed in the choices of food they had to offer. Way over priced for the quality of food you get. Was not impressed

Came for a special dinner, and was not disappointed. We both had steaks that were perfectly cooked. The sides were excellent for the most part but I felt the mac and cheese was a little lack luster. Pros Service was excellent Steaks delicious and were cooked perfectly Peas were almost candy they were so good. Great atmosphere. Loved the window into the kitchen. Cons Mac and Cheese was a little disappointing. Notes. I don’t think they need the big signs out side. It takes away from the atmosphere.

This place is solid. Pretty standard modern Steak & Seafood menu. Clam chowder was nice — good amount of clam meat is what I like. Zabuton steak was pretty good, not great but not bad. The mac and cheese with crab made the steak awesome though. For dessert we had some kind of molten chocolate tort. It was OK but since it was chocolate I ate the whole thing.

Came here for new years eve, we called ahead to see if we can try multiple items on the special menu of the night and they said«yes». Once we arrived the server said«no we can’t do that, the prices are set and the menu can’t be changed». I told him I called ahead and asked and told them we had no problem with the increase in price, so he begrudgingly went into the kitchen and asked. Came back a few minutes later and said we are good to order any mix & match we wanted. The food was okay, we were expecting it to be awesome like our last visit. For the price that we paid was thinking the portions would be a lot bigger. The service wasn’t that great either and at the end of the meal they decided to include a tip of 20% for themselves. I wish I had known about this earlier so I could be more assertive about our poor dinner service. I can see that for large parties but not for 3 people. Oh well, we will come back another time when it isn’t any special going on in the restaurant.

A recent discovery for me, and now one of my favorites. The staff is informative, and service is top notch. The entire menu is worth trying, and I wish I could eat one of everything when I am there. Perfect place to eat alone at the bar, or enjoy the modern ambiance with a date. I am shocked that a restaurant with both high quality steak and equally high quality seafood exists in Utah. A welcome gem along the wasatch front.

Very nice restaurant overall. Prices are high but you get what you pay for. There’s not a lot of room so I can see why it would fill up so quickly which allows for the excellent customer service and thorough review of the menu items. Which shows the passion they have for what they prepare for you. I can’t say enough about the quality and freshness of the food. I couldn’t afford to eat here often but it’s definitely on our special occasion dine out list. It’s places like this that inspire me to get in the restaurant biz and I feel proud for the gentlemen that founded it. Good job guys!

I had my first experience with this place last night and was so completely impressed, I knew I had to review the next day! First impressions, the building is in a bit of a weird location, but contrary to what other reviewers have said, the exterior was not that bad! The inside is smaller, but cozy and nicely decorated. Our group of 11 arrived at different times and everyone was immediately seated at our table. We were treated to the service of two friendly and knowledgable waiters who were quick to offer suggestions and made sure that everyone at the table was attended to. Our drinks, appetizers, and entrees all made it out with perfect timing. The cocktails we tried were awesome and well-priced, I think the old-fashioned was probably my favorite. Now, onto the food… which everyone agreed was fantastic! Of the appetizers I was able to sample the tuna carpaccio, mussels, spinach dip, and calamari. Even though I’m not really a seafood person, everything was quite good. The tuna carpaccio was probably my favorite. For dinner my boyfriend and I ordered the filet mignon and the mac’n’cheese. The filet was soooo good and cooked perfectly. It came with pancetta peas and blue cheese potatoes. The mac’n’cheese was good, but honestly not something I would order again… I felt like it was under-salted and the flavors fell a little flat. Other people at our table tried some of the fish dishes and could not stop raving about it. Overall, we had a very good experience. I’m always impressed by places that can handle large groups and give us the same level of service that they’d give to a table of two. We’ll definitely be making it back here. For anyone wondering about the prices(I definitely was!) I’d say that this place is more of a $$$ experience. The steak and seafood entrees are all in the $ 30-$ 40 range, with staples like burgers and pasta falling in the $ 15-$ 20 range depending on whatever extras you’d add to them. The check for my boyfriend and I was around $ 100(pre-tip) for drinks, an appetizer, and steak and pasta entrees. The price didn’t bother me as the food was so good and this isn’t something we always do, but it is something to be aware of as prices are not listed on their website.

I am quite literally about to go into the kitchen to hug the chef. And our server Travis was amazing — ask for him! A bit of an awkward location for a restaurant this great, but the interior is soft, charming, and reminds me of my New England roots. Food is absolutely some of the best we’ve had in Utah. I’m so happy I love so close — this will be our new neighborhood favorite. Highlights: seasonal oysters, pork chop special, Marlin special, broccoli With almonds, peas and pancetta, blue cheese bacon gratin, and holy-crap-you-must-get-the-cheesecake. Can’t wait to come back!

Everything about this restaurant is 5 stars!!! Randall, the owner, set us on the right path to helping us pick our drink for the night along with our food choices. He also informed us on the freshness of their fish, which are shipped daily, and the garden of vegetables are locally grown and freshly picked. For our appetizers, we started with the Asiago cheese dip, house crab cakes, oysters, and as a complimentary dish, we were also served the sweet tomato bruschetta. Everything was so fresh tasting, seasoned perfectly, and overall filling. As a table of four, we got full off the appetizers lol. Continuing on with the main course, we decided to go with the wild Hawaiian ahi tuna with the choice of 2 sides(garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables) and the garlic miso sauce, which they kindly split between my fiancée and I. The tuna did not taste fishy at all but like steak itself, the garlic miso sauce complimented the ahi very well. It was absolutely appetizing. Because we read other Unilocal reviews, we needed to try the crème brûlée pound cake. Along with our crème brûlée, Randall kindly gave us a complimentary scoop of their homemade mixed berry sorbet. Even though we were full, we managed to clean our plates from every crumb haha. The crème brûlée was just so creamy and melt in your mouth good. Also the sorbet was super amazing and definitely homemade. If you ever find yourself in Salt Lake City as I did, I highly recommend this restaurant! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The restaurant is pristine and clean. I love the backyard patio as they have grapevines which they use to make their own wine. We will be back for sure next time we are in town and are very thankful for the superior service from Randall and his staff!

Wanted to try a new seafood place and I heard this place was good so I wanted to try it out for myself. We walked in with no reservation and that was the first mistake because they almost didn’t have a place to seat us but we locked out and got a spot. Our waiter Travis was excellent! He explained the menu to us with it being our first time and he also made a special food accommodation for my sister. He always made sure our waters were filled and that we always had what we needed. Randall was also great by being very friendly and getting us what we needed even though he was not our waiter. We ordered the calamari, my sister ordered the linguini and clams, and I ordered the Utah trout. All were delicious, but the best part was the dessert. We shared the crème brûlée pound cake which was awesome! If you want to try this place make a reservation! It does get really busy and there aren’t many seats. It seems like anything you order will taste good so order up!

I first came across this restaurant while Unilocaling a new place to eat a couple of months ago. At first glance, I was skeptical because of the name. Seafood? Will it even be fresh? Because of my skepticism, I skipped it and went on to look at other restaurants. Oh boy, do I regret not giving this place a shot earlier. I could have ate their amazing clam chowder earlier than later!!! But now I know. My boyfriend and I went to Harbors for dinner on a Friday evening after consistently seeing it pop up on our Unilocal search feed. We called ahead of time to make a reservation just in case it was busy. As soon as we arrived, we promptly got seated and was asked if we wanted our coats to be hung. We of course said yes and was then given a number to retrieve our coats later. This service is awesome because the dining area is pretty small and there isn’t much room to put your jackets. Although the dining area is small, the large windows makes the space feel nice and open. Our server was Christopher and he was super friendly. My boyfriend and I are not only young in age but we look young as well. Our experience in other restaurants that has the upscale feel to it has been awful. You just know when someone treats you differently based on your ethnicity and age. Christopher gave us a dining experience that felt sincere with superb service. Onto the food. We wanted to try the Korean spare ribs that we deliciously seen in pictures but was disappointed when we found out the dish was a limited special item. We went ahead and ordered the Hangar steak, clam chowder, oysters, salad, and crème brûlée for dessert. The clam chowder was amazing-balls. I actually for the first time in Utah, felt and tasted the clams!!! The best part was that there was a lot of clam pieces in my chowder. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak as well and noted that this was the first steak he felt like where he didn’t need any type of steak sauce. Lastly, I asked Christopher what made Harbor so special in seafood and he said that usually seafood takes an average of 4 days from the sea to delivery to Utah’s restaurant. Harbor only takes 18 hours! This is pretty good since Utah is a landlocked state!
