Not very traditional but pretty good. They have a private room that has you sit on the ground but has a space where your legs can hang. Pretty cool! Go during happy hour so that the rolls are half off along with some of the appetizers.

Super cozy and chill. It feels like a little hidden gem being in the basement, surrounded by what seems like never ending construction on the downtown building on the street. The warm plum sake was delicious.

Tried to eat there today. Got there at 1125 and they opened at 1130. I didn’t expect to get in early. They clearly saw us as we were standing there but didn’t acknowledge our presence. 1130 came and went. Door locked and nobody came. At 1135 we decided if they didn’t come soon we would leave. They didn’t so we did. Had a lovely brunch at Taqueria 27.

Best sushi around. Period. I’ve been there a dozen times or so for lunch and each time is as consistently good as the last.

We decided to give this place a shot while visiting Utah. Came to the conclusion that it’s just an OK sushi spot with a very high end price. A bar called Oh Shucks shares the space with a sushi bar, so your ID is required to enter… With the prices being as expensive as they were I thought i would be getting some high in restaurant sushi instead I feel like the sushi was a little bit better than the kind you might buy pre-made at a grocery store. The service wasn’t terrible considering that they seemed under staffed on this particular evening. Next time i visit Utah and have a sushi craving, i will be looking elsewhere.

We ordered sushi to go on a Wednesday for their ½ price sushi and waited 30+ minutes outside in the cold for our order. After the passing time, we were told that the chefs decided NOT give us ½ price on the sushi. We were not happy with them, so asked them to cancel the order.

I came here with 5 other people and got squished into a corner booth with not that much space for us. There isn’t that much space in this restaurant for bigger parties and they don’t take reservations so just be warned. My friends and I came here for their Wednesday special which includes $ 3 schooners and cheap rolls. I love sushi and I just didn’t think that this sushi was amazing. I had the Irish roll which I thought would taste more interesting but it was so bland. I am afraid of spicy things but I tried the funky Charlie(which was the special that night) and at least it was slightly better than the Irish. It was good but not worth the price of $ 10 per roll. Also my friend got miso soup and when it came out it tasted soapy. Therefore I wasn’t amazed by this sushi place. I’m going to need to find another one that will make me happy.

Diego KILLED it!!! He made his own creative rolls, not on the menu, which was the best decision. He showed his true colors of how to roll sushi. Absolutely amazing!

We went on Wednesday night and it was great. The California rolls, single item rolls, and one of the menu rolls were half off. It’s also half off burger night. Good food, fun atmosphere.

Terrible service. Rude. Mean people. Do not come here. The manager was even worse. So disappointed.

Worst service I have ever experienced, over priced mediocre sushi, rude and misogynistic waiters/managers. Would give it 0 stars if that were possible.

I really dig this place. Seriously, who doesn’t want to go to a sushi joint in a basement of a building in downtown Salt Lake that is also connected to an Irish pub? I’ve only been here in the middle of the afternoon on weekends, so it’s never been busy. But I dig it. The service is good, and the sushi is simple, and delicious. If you enjoy fresh rolls, without layers of spicy mayo or tempura everything, as well as your pick of whatever liquor you want to consume, or no sushi at all, and just liquor, or you want to eat sushi at an Irish pub, or drink Guiness at a sushi bar, come here.

Not sure why the low ratings. Have really liked this place. The food is really good and came out fast. It did seem like the waiter took awhile to take our order but she was nice. I kinda hate that the restaurant looks into the bar attached. They have very conflicting themes but the price of the sushi and of course taste, guaranteed that I’ll be back. I live in the avenues so the location is also really convenient being right down town.

Ahh Sushi used to be on the top of my list for sushi but it hasn’t been consistent these last couple of visits. I really liked the Funky Vegas roll here but lately it has been over fried, if that is even possible, which leaves it with a funny, oily taste. I’ve also tried to Sunset which is okay, nothing too fancy. None of the rolls have been sticking out to me but I have been to quite a few sushi places lately with much more variety. The best thing here is all the Happy Hours they have throughout the week. We go here for lunch 11:30 to 12:30& all the rolls are half off. I believe they also have a happy hour after 10PM.

The service is here great. My waiters name is Habum and he is the cutest Korean guy ever! He always checked up on my table, was familiar with all the dishes and gave his suggestions when we weren’t sure about certain items. His knowledge made my experience so much better. They don’t just serve sushi here, they also serve tapas(small plates) and they are fabulous! The shrimp boats, had the right amount of rice, avocado, eel sauce and a big piece of shrimp. Highly recommended! The raw scallops in ponzu sauce was also very good. The scallops were fresh, full of flavor and good bite sized. The spring rolls — pass! I’m used to Vietnamese spring rolls with pork and shrimp but these spring rolls were filled with JUST lettuce and carrots. It’s not worth it. The drinks were awesome and they were heavy on the alcohol which isn’t the norm for UTAH. The Long Island was great but it was strong. Hey I’m not complaining. My friends and I ordered sushi but the small plates are shareable! The spring rolls and shrimp boat usually only come with THREE pieces but since we had a total of four people, the chef gave us four pieces without extra charge :) I thought that was awesome! The chef also cut the spring rolls to accommodate the four of us which was very thoughtful. The sushi rolls here are a little pricy(10 – 17 per specialty roll) but well Worth the price. I would come here again and it’s a great atmosphere to have company around! Kudos to the staff that waited on us. You are amazing and I thank you for a great experience!

I was waiting for the Trax when I saw a sign for Ahh Sushi, so I followed it. I was led down some stairs to a quiet little pub & sushi joint, with few people at 12:15 on a Saturday. I had to wait about 10 minutes for a table(they were a bit short staffed, but attentive), and it was worth the wait. Sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chef was super friendly, as was my hard working server. I ordered what they call the Confidential Roll… you can look up on Google all that this roll entails. It was delicious. Next time I am in Salt Lake City, this place will be on my must visit list!

Happy hour after 10 pm on weekdays = 50% sushi rolls = a full stomach. «Legit» sake bombs, decent rolls, and a relaxed basement atmosphere made my visit an enjoyable one.

Enjoyed the food a lot. Visiting SLC from out of town an this place was recommended. It’s a fun environment. Attached to a bar, so was kinda loud, but the food was good! I would recommend. ALSO: HALFOFFSUSHI Friday night after 10pm.

I am glad I am not the only one with a Roach experience here. How in the world they are still in business is beyond me. The staff doesn’t even care that roaches are everywhere. I ordered the potstickers and a roach came out on my plate. Seriously? Disgusting. I walked out with out paying. I hope this place dies a quick death, they fumigate and replace it with something good.

Ahh Sushi offers happy hour from 10 – 11PM daily(except on Wednesdays) where everything except sashimi and nigiri are half off. It’s kind of an odd hour to have this special pricing, but what better time to go then after a Jazz game! I tried a simple salmon roll, which was nicely rolled and tasted fresh. Also, I had a roll with yellowtail, tuna and tobiko; pretty good. The roll that stood out the most was called the Confidential Roll. It had tempura shrimp, crab, salmon, tuna, tobiko and green onions. I would like to go back and try one some of the sushi chef’s creations that aren’t on the menu next time. I’ve heard good things about Ferdz and Jerr, but didn’t get a chance to sit in front of either yet. The wait staff here also need some more practice on giving refills and making sure their customer’s are okay, but since this place is half sushi restaurant and half bar, you can’t expect stellar service.
