I have been here twice and had a horrible experience both times. They have terrible customer service and I am pretty sure they are ok with that. The most recent trip they double charged my card for a round of drinks. I found out the next day that they also charged the group for the same round after I left. I will never go here again!

I’ve tried twice to enjoy some karaōke at this joint and both times the place has been closed and or looks like it went out of business. There are no posting of hours, so it’s open whenever they feel like it? Also, calling the phone number goes to a voicemail box that is full and does not identify if you’ve even reached the right place. The first time I tried to visit their«establishment», the door was broken and patched over with cardboard. Break-in? Rowdy customers? Reading the reviews of this place it definitely sounds like there is a lot of room for improvement from cleanliness to song selection. Utah does need a great karaōke joint and maybe I’ll have to do it.

I really want to like this place. I understand that I can’t expect good service from most Chinese run place in Utah, however, this is just way dirty. I’m giving it the 3 stars for it’s the only Asian style karaōke place in Utah I know that has wide range selection of Chinese songs and ok english songs selections(don’t expect much on the other languages though). And I might go back just for that. We still had fun nonetheless. So we were planning for normal small room for 5 people which is like $ 25 or something like that an hour. The girl put me in the medium room that fits 7 – 8 people even though there are only 5 of us because apparently, they can only install English songs in that room. Why? Unclear. But they charge $ 20 extra for english songs and the room itself is $ 40/hr(for the bigger one, so $ 60 total). She was really nice seeing there were only 5 of us and only charged $ 45+tax. However, the guys wanted beer n they were just given the beer and because most guys would just stupidly take things without checking price, they ended up with beer that costed $ 6/bottle. Plus tax. And we had to pay cash cos their machine was broken so we ran to the ATM across the street and got charged plus again by the ATM machine. I went there after seeing the bathroom review and honestly I was terrified to go in at first, but I really needed to scream my heart out so I went in anyway and tried without success to peek into the bathroom without getting caught. Since I got caught, I asked her sincerely about the bathroom review and she said nervously that there was a big party that weekend when the review was posted. However, when we were there weeks after, the toilet was still in a pretty bad condition and the carpet needed some tender loving care. Anyway after a while, the carpet didn’t matter anymore as we were focusing our mind in singing and screaming. We used the bathroom but I was scared to sit on it so I kinda did the half-squat over it + toilet paper all over the mouth in case I would touch it n get herpes by accident. My other girlfriends just held their pee in. The browsing/searching system of the songs is rather annoying. It’s usable, not user-friendly. All in all, I understand the condition of public toilets in China. I’ve seen the worst blood-filled-menstrual-pads-flooded toilets plus extra poop there. However, this business is run in the US and should follow the US standard hygiene protocol. I suggest using bleach.

Avoid avoid avoid avoid!!! This place deserves negative stars. Absolute squalor. This is BYFAR the most disgusting establishment on the face of the planet. I would rather pull a Britney Spears and walk barefoot into a random side of the road gas station bathroom in any-town USA. We went on a Sunday night and it was absolutely dead, so the mess left was likely left over from the weekend and never addressed. The front counter had dirty dishes that the desk girl apologized for but never bothered to clean up. The room itself had filthy tables, filthy carpet, trash and beer bottles left. Every other room was absolutely destroyed with garbage and beer bottles and the like. But the real kicker was the bathrooms. HORRIFYING! I NEED A NEWWORDFORHORRIFYING! I would feel more comfortable reliving myself in the woods and using poison ivy for toilet paper, because I feel like that would be less invasive than the risk of getting a communicable skin eating disease from this place. I want to also add that I actually gave the front desk girl a chance. I told her about how he bathrooms were horrifying and she acted like she cared, left to go «address the situation» and then went back to playing on her phone, didn’t do a damn thing. I even asked if the manager could call me about it before I posted about their scary health hazard of an establishment but after an entire week, no one ever did, so here we are. Also the karaōke isn’t worth it. Very little songs in English and the system is really annoying to navigate and has annoying quirks like when you add a new song to the cue, it will end the current song being sang. Overall pain in the ass karaōke and EXTRA pain in the ass for your immune system. Again! AVOID!

Their karaōke machine was a Chinese variety. Lots of Chinese songs, so if that’s you want, it’s cool. Otherwise, it’s a bit disappointing, both in terms of the song selection, and the quality of music.

We wanted to love this place so badly. I gave it three stars cause we had a lot of fun. We reserved a small room for the five of us but they put us in a HUGE room which made it about $ 40 an hour. Which we were unaware of since we wanted a smaller room. So we felt a little ripped off when it came to paying the bill. The way everything works is pretty easy and straight forward but they had a pretty limited selection of songs in English. We found enough goodies to keep us busy. Some acdc some Britney Spears. The by far most disturbing part was the bathrooms. You truly had to see them to believe. They were beyond filthy. Beyond. I’ve used some scary bathrooms all over the world but this ranked among the worst. All and all we did have a good time. The hourly rate was too high and the bathrooms were too gross. Wish they had a bigger song collection.

Fun place for some karaōke in Utah. It is the only place in Salt Lake that you can karaōke in a private room. Only other place is at a bar in front of everyone. The establishment is hard to get a hold of since they are closed during the day and you have to catch them when they are open to make reservation. Songs are a little hard to navigate since it is an authentic KTV establishment so it is a little difficult for English singers to find the songs they want without scrolling through a ton of asian music. Maybe if they had different software. Great place to go with your girlfriends to visit the Hello Kitty room which is their smallest room. They can fit about 4 people comfortably. They have a larger One Piece(Animé) Room which can hold about 8 people comfortably. They were in the process of remodeling and will have bigger room available that can hold about 14 people. I will most definitely go back!

My friends and I were so very happy to find this authentic style KTV establishment. For those of you that do not know what KTV is, it is basically just the Chinese version of Japanese karaōke. The rooms are private, just for you and your friends. 1874KTV is a valuable asset to SLC and should be supported by the local community for the good, clean, and safe fun that it is. I called ahead to make a reservation, and the service is exceptionally friendly and professional. When you enter, the staff will show you through the computer system. The system is very easy to use and the search functions are all abbreviated. There are songs available in English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Spanish, and some Korean. Even some original music videos are played. Great song selection! Drinks available are; beer, wine, and sodas. The location is right next to two very popular downtown bars, full of young people. We had a great time also because our room was on the front of the building, so people walking by would stop and look at us— definitely an awesome place for people to stop by anytime, day or night sing songs. Sadly, we did not get the Hello Kitty room… maybe next time I’m in town. We drank and sang for a long time and were shocked at how cheap it was when we went to pay.
