This is a great Restaurant. The food is always good. The prices are pretty fair. The bar is clean and nice. The bathroom is very clean. The paper towels are tissues though. The service is great. I will be back!!!

Every year I take my siblings out to dinner at Seaglass for their birthdays, and this year will be the last! The server(he said his name was Steve) was despicable; inattentive at best. The meal for 7 of us took 3 hours plus AND we had to find the manager(who could have cared less) to complain that we wanted coffee. REALLY. He never came back to see if the meals were ok, he ‘apologized’ for taking 2 hrs to serve our(not very warm) dinners by quickly dropping 2 deserts with 7 spoons off at our table(we had a party of 7) –but NEVER asking if anyone wanted desert or coffee. If he was my employee-he’d be terminated… but instead our family gatherings will never, ever happen at this place again. Sad excuse for what could have been a decent place to dine. The chef could be better off moving on to a better restaurant.

Delicious! Beautiful view and food was great. Great selections for the lunch menu and reasonable prices. Oysters from the raw bar were flavorful and savory. Sangria was delicious. Our server, Dawn, was very helpful and and attentive. We just went for lunch but I cannot wait to go back for dinner.

While the restaurant and bar are gorgeous, the food was lacking. The oysters appeared to have crushed Doritos on top but the rest of it was great. The mini beef Wellingtons were phenomenal, however, we could have done without the nondescript beet tartar. The crab cake was good with plenty of crab and not a lot of filler. Drinks were well made by Danielle the bartender, who was extremely busy but very attentive. Our waiter, Gary, seemed tired and unenthusiastic about his job or servicing us. The biggest disappointment of the night was our scallop entrée. The menu mentioned nothing about tomato being in the meal. There wasn’t very much lobster in the risotto and it tasted like someone had just boiled down some tomato juice and added risotto. It lacked flavor and definitely DIDNOT go well with the scallops. The scallops themselves were cooked and seasoned well. Lobster and scallops never go with red sauce. The crème brûlée was plentiful and delicious. One of the best we’ve had. We loved the atmosphere and the view is incredible. We had a nice leisurely dinner and would try Seaglass again in the future, but will avoid those scallops.

Gorgeous views and what a beautiful dining room and bar, so well decorated and full of beautiful light. This lovely restaurant has a lot of growing room, with its cocktails and food, though. Oysters rock were watery and gritty with an odd flavor. Lobster roll served on an overly crusty(stale?) bun and just did not taste good. You can choose your side, which is cool, and I would def go with the chips or something over the mushy mac & cheese(too much over cooked pasta, but the staff seems to favor this). Cocktails were pretty, but I actually sent back the key lime martini thing and got a mohito type ginger beer drink that was a vast improvement. Coco Lopez + vanilla vodka just tastes like oily turpentine. I see a bright future, because you can’t go wrong with an awesome music venue at Salisbury Beach, but they need to step it up a notch. Or three.

Such a great location, they just can’t get the service right. No matter how many times I try, it never works out.

We called ahead to see if they would honor a gift certificate we had from the area chamber of commerce, they said they would. When we presented the certificate towards the bill, the waitress said they didn’t accept it. After talking with the manager and general manager, who both refused to take responsibility for the incorrect info provided by their staff, we got them to reduce the bill by a measly $ 25. I just checked my bank statement and they charged me the full amount of the bill and not the reduced amount shown on the bill that I signed!!! Not only did they commit fraud, but the food and service weren’t worth the price! Don’t waste your time or money!!!

Attended a very small wedding(20 guests) at the Seaglass this past weekend. Beautiful setting, but the staff was very unorganized. Event coordinator was hard to find most of the day. In my opinion, if you are in charge of an event, you should be dedicated to that party and be available always. If you are needed elsewhere, have an assistant. The bride texted me the night before the wedding stating that the coordinator called & had double-booked the room, so they were moving her to a smaller room w/a similar view — definitely not the call you want the night before your wedding! The room for the ceremony was very simple. It had a gorgeous view of the ocean, however in the next room over, there was a performance of the Wizard of Oz going on. Every time vows or readings were being made, all you could hear was, «Ding dong, the witch is dead». It was comical to me, but very distracting and disappointing. Not well planned by the venue and unacceptable. After the ceremony, we were left hanging around. We had to ask hostesses where our event coordinator was. The amount of time it took for us to place our dinner orders and be served was absolutely ridiculous(and I’m glad that I chose to order directly at the bar than rely on the waiter). I ordered the baked haddock and it was overcooked & dry… my mom ordered the baked chicken and that was overcooked and dry also, however my daughter ordered a burger, cooked medium, and hers was really pink all over — too pink she says. Finally, it was getting late… the staff moved quickly to move us out of the area — even the coordinator was pulling tables apart and resetting them. If they moved that quickly in the beginning, we would have been long gone hours before, considering we were a party of 20, there for just dinner and cake — no DJ even! Wedding started at 2 p.m.(started about 10 min late — nothing to do w/the venue) and we did not exit the site until 7:30 p. m!!! Again, the setting was beautiful and I was also very pleased that the coordinator set up all of the decorations, that I had made, according to the pictures I had provided in an E-mail previously, however, I was overall extremely dissatisfied and would not return unless they retrain the staff significantly. I hope my friend still enjoyed her day, even with all these mishaps. The following day, my daughter & I returned for the Sea Festival of Trees and were extremely impressed with how that event was handled. I’m guessing it was the function’s own staff that were stationed throughout the event for questions, because there was an abundance of staff and the event was very well put together and organized. I will definitely return in the future, but I’ll be staying away from the restaurant. The bartender, I should note, took my order immediately and even a second came over to make sure I was all set — no complaints there. If I had been part of the staff this weekend, I wouldn’t be expecting a rave review after that performance.

I don’t understand why this place doesn’t have a higher rating. We have come here several times for brunch, which was excellent, and tried it for the first time for dinner last night. It was the best meal we’ve had in a while and we are very picky! First of all, the service was fantastic and attentive and the view can’t be beat! The signature martini was just a tad too sweet for my taste, but was excellent and the bread basket they served was divine… tons of variety and clearly fresh-baked. For entrees we had the halibut with gnocchi and the prime rib special. The halibut was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. Most places overcook it, but it was cooked perfectly and the sauce and gnocchi were heaven. My husband loved his prime rib although, was just a tad too overcooked for his taste. I would give 5 stars if it weren’t for the dessert. We had the apple pie dish and it wasn’t cooked long enough, the apple was still hard and the puff pastry was raw in places. But, the ice cream was delicious. Can’t wait to go back!

I took my fiancé here for her birthday. The view is marvelous. The food even better. We had the clams casino as an apetizer, and the swordfish and scallops for our main meal. We were very pleased

Mindless, soulless service. The devil is in the details and this place is absolutely the sloppiest. There is little other competition though so the white hairs all dry hump this place like its the Ritz. Make reservations elsewhere for a better value and presentation. Glade air fresheners spraying in the dining room will surely make you want to leave or heave. Bless those that do eat here.

First time we went to Seaglass was four years ago. Six of us sat in a booth and I remember thinking«what a gorgeous place», with high ceilings, understated, tasteful décor, and second-floor windows overlooking the ocean. I remember the food was excellent but the service a tad slow, albeit good. Last week we went back, just hubby and I, and opted to sit at the bar since it’d gotten a bit late. We were handed drink menus, requested a food menu, and began looking around. Nothing’s really changed, I did notice the TVs behind the bar this time. Our yummy drinks came and we ordered the ahi poke appetizer. Very fresh, very tasty, and plenty for sharing. I could easily have made this my meal! Hubby wanted some real food though, and ordered the ribeye, mid-rare. Other than seeming to take a long time, what was presented was beautiful: outside charred to perfection, inside exactly the proper pink, and ridiculously tender. So then why the three stars? I guess it’s just one of those places from which I don’t get the warm fuzzies. Next time we end up there I may change this… we’ll see. Check it out, lemme know what you think!

The two stars are for the view. It is a great view, but it ended there for me. We had reservations on a Tuesday night, no window seat and the waitress took forever just to come get out drink order. I was very thirsty! Then she asked if we wanted bread and we said yes, another 15 minutes where she had walked by out table more than a few times. People around us had drinks and bread, we had nothing. The food was alright, nothing I would be going back for at those prices. I’m willing to pay for a great meal and good service but here they lack both so there is no point to go back and pay for that. Sorry, on to the next!

Our server, Jana was more than amazing. We had a huge party and she kept us serviced and happy. She was pleasant and accommodating. The ambience: the view was gorgeous. Beautiful beach views, piano bar. Lovely interior. The website photos over exaggerate the true atmosphere. It is much less formal than the website portrays. The food: Meh. Our salmon was overlooked. Steak was so over cooked that we sent it back. The manager came over to tell us what the restaurants standards are for a medium steak. He told us we were wrong about our steaks but as a courtesy they would recook them. Then told us we were wrong and don’t know a medium steak when we see one. He said«I just want you to know for the next time you come.» Sorry honey, no next time for me. At these prices I can go to a legit steakhouse and get my steak cooked medium-the way the rest of the world defines medium.

I used to love it here. We hosted my moms 50th party back in 2012 and it was marvelous. Went last night, the service was horrible.(I have been a server at a busy upscale restaurant for several years so I know the business). The appetizer was great. Tuna lollipops. However the experience continued to spiral when the meals came. The special was a steak au poivre… I asked to have the cook to lightly rub the pepper on steak. The waitress Kathryn said it was no rubbed in it but came with a sauce. I asked for that on the side. I like peppercorn rubbed steak but sometimes it can have a little too much pepper. She said ok. We get our meals and the steak was covered in FINELY ground pepper. She said they did it lightly. My first bite I was choking. When she came back 15 minutes later to check she was going to have them just grill me a plain steak. Ok things happen. Sadly, her reaction was so flat it was odd. The second steak comes out 20 mins later and it’s cooked well. I asked for medium rare. Kathryn again did not care and just comp’d it. I don’t mind paying $$ for a good meal. I love tipping servers well too after working in the industry. Never did a manager come over or anything. I won’t be back. The view is pretty.

We stopped in for lunch on a road trip. We were seated quickly, but waited at least ten minutes for a server to take our drink order. The service was slow the entire time and it took a long time for our food to get there. While it is a beautiful restaurant with a beautiful view, we were not excited by the food and thought everything was just OK. This seems like a good place to take groups but it wasn’t for us.

We came here for a trivia night and it was pretty dead, though it was in the fall. The service was attentive and friendly, though the food took a while to come out once it was ordered. It seems like a lot of regulars come here. They offered a salad bar with soups on its own or to add on to the meal. The chowder was only OK, but the fish and chips were tasty and cooked perfectly and my dining companions enjoyed the haddock and fries. We were here at night, but outside seating with a view of the Merrimack might have made the experience a bit more enjoyable. The prices were high, average for the area, but not worth it for the quality. All in all, it was an average, though completely forgettable restaurant with nothing to set it apart from a hundred others I’ve been to. With so many great places to eat in Newburyport just over the bridge, it’s unlikely I’d come here again.

Making a reservation for the restaurant was no easy task, if a table facing the ocean was requested. After dining here I am wondering what the fuss is, because at dinner time all you can see is a black façade. During the lunch hour I could appreciate the premium nature of a table with an ocean view. Again, not for dinner. We got to the restaurant for an 8:00pm reservation and were seated a few minutes later at a table that was one row away for the windows(ocean view). At the time we sat down you could see the ocean but as the night progressed the skies turned that view into a wall of blackness. The restaurant is nicely designed, classy and the dress code is «whatever makes you feel comfortable» from what I saw. I don’t know if the place has an actual dress policy other than shoes and shirt. I saw people wearing their Levi’s and others wearing a suit and a lady in a sequined party dress. The wine menu is very extensive and yielded a bunch of choices that were for«by the glass» selection. Several tables seemed to be getting interesting martinis and combination shots. I figured being on the ocean what better place to get a seafood based dish? I got the Classic French Onion which reads the following way on the menu: Caramelized Vidalia Onions + Veal Bouillon + Cave Aged Swiss + Toasted Croûton. It was good and light colored. The Veal vs. Beef made a difference. A shrimp cocktail was also ordered which consisted of 5 shrimp over a martini glass with the cocktail sauce in the cup with the horseradish ready to be mixed in. The shrimp were pretty good and cleaned out«ok» but not great. For my main course I had the Lobster Bolognese which the menu states has the following: Knuckle + Claw & Tail Meat + Rich Tomato Ragu + Touch of Cream + Gemelli + Braised Spinach for $ 27.00. The sauce was like a soup and a bit too much. Not a great dish but when I microwaved it for lunch 2 days later it was fantastic. I think that if it had less sauce from the onset it would have left a better impression. The server, Daryl was a bit cold at first but he came around as the meal progressed. He recommended one of the specials on the menu which was a sushi grade tuna but we decided to get another special which had scallops. The dish was«ok» but not memorable. All in all, it was a decent meal but I have had better and would seek another restaurant of this style to try before I returned here for a second chance.
