Best place ever! Great food, atmosphere & service. Love the interior of the building, very quaint. Prices great.

Mmmmm, great dining experience! Friendly, helpful staff and such tasty choices. Fried green tomatoes are amazing; shrimp bisque, pot roast and a pork special were all outstanding. And, a selection of wines and beers that works. The lovely historic home as a backdrop makes for a nice evening.

The 4 of us had brunch on a Sunday. We arrived around 12:45pm and it wasn’t that busy. We ordered off the limited brunch menu. The wait time was extremely long. Service was terrible. Waitress forgot to bring beverages and coffee. She even admitted she forgot about it as she was trying to clean up to leave! We ordered dessert and they were out of the chocolate cake. Food was ok but service was terrible and they didn’t seem to worried to hide the fact the service was poor. And the total bill came to $ 90(ninety dollars) for 4 people! I couldn’t believe it. We paid almost $ 100 for 4 brunch entrees, 1 water, 2 teas, 1 soda, and 3 desserts. Unbelievable. We won’t be back. Two stars because the food was pretty good but overall experience was terrible.

A unique find in this small town. The old home converted into a restaurant. Nice variety of sandwiches and salads, but the 5 stars goes to the staff. They were welcoming and made us feel at home.

I live in Greensboro and one of my childhood friends lives in Charlotte. We decided to meet for lunch in Salisbury, the official halfway point. Based on Unilocal reviews we picked Emma’s. We almost chose a different restaurant because an earlier reviewer said Emma’s was out of business. Well, it isn’t. Once a week they close the restaurant, pull out all the furniture and have the floors deep cleaned. The manager I spoke to thinks that is why the reviewer thought the place was shuttered. We had a nice lunch. We both had the grilled chicken wrap. It was very fresh with a nice presentation. I had the fruit cup for my side and could tell the fruit was cut very recently. The atmosphere was charming, service was good. Emma’s is most definitely open for business and obviously clean. You should absolutely try it.

I think this place must have closed. I tried going on a Wednesday for lunch, the closed sign was up and looking through the front door was empty. I didn’t even see any tables. Edit: the owner contacted me after review and said they close on Wednesday in winter and the reason looked so empty they were having the floors done. Wish that note had of been on the door.

I’m from Salisbury but moved to Charlotte an I was home visiting an heard about Emma’s. I loved it from the start it’s just a little house turned into a restaurant. Very inviting atmosphere old wooden floors, the wait staff very friendly n southern. I had their turkey Reuben w home made chips the turkey had been out in the grill than cheese n sauerkraut it would melt in your mouth. My friend had the hamburger with home made chips. She said it was really good burger was cooked as she asked. We both had tea in a tea snob lol they had great tea an the wait staff never let either of our glasses get low. Great place I can’t wait to go home again to take my mother for lunch. If your looking for great food with southern charm check out Emma’s

I had a 5 star experience at this restaurant, which I’m giving 4.4 stars. To give the restaurant a 5, I would have to have a long-term craving for something I’ve only had there. I would stop here again in a heart beat. My mom and I stopped into Emma’s for lunch while on a road trip. There was ample street parking, and we were seated immediately without a reservation. It was a beautiful Saturday, so we sat on the sunny back porch. This restaurant felt like a home. My unsweet iced tea($ 1.99) was bottomless, and the service was off-the-charts. Our server even brought us to-go cups with iced tea when we were done. Beer and wine are available, and Emma’s offers free refills on non-alcoholic beverages(Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist, Cherrwine, Club Soda, Iced Tea(sweet, unsweet), hot tea, coffee), excepting on their Fresh Squeezed Lemonade(available in the summer only) and their Arnold Palmer. Mom got the chicken salad sandwich($ 7.99, including a side), and I enjoyed the grilled cheese($ 6.99, including a side), but added avocado(so $ 8.99, including a side), and had it on their homemade Telera roll. This was probably the best grilled cheese sandwich I’ve had. I could have selected white, wheat, or rye bread, or a gluten-free substitute(+$ 1.50). Mom and I both selected the fruit cup for a side, and it was delicious. I’m not a melon person, and this was a melon-free salad, focused mostly on grapes, apples and bananas. Its composition changes daily. Other side options include the potato salad, house chips, french fries, sweet potato fries, daily vegetable, side salad(add $ 1).

Yummmm! What a great experience I had here. Was a fabulous brunch spot. We had reservations and were quickly sat — the restaurant is divided up into different rooms as it used to be a house — was nice for privacy. Waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable — made great recommendations as well. Very cozy. I had the fried green tomato, lettuce, and bacon sandwich — yum! All of my friends enjoyed their meals as well. I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area!

Emma’s is one of my favorite spots in Salisbury. I love the cute historic house and the friendly staff. Try the fried green tomatoes and spinach dip. Also, they have the best reuben sandwich in town!

What a great little gem in Salisbury! Cute little house converted into a wonderful restaurant for brunch or dinner. The service was top notch and the food was all extremely well prepared. We got the fried green tomatoes, shrimp & corn bisque, pot roast and side salad with homemade dressings. We didn’t have room for desert but next time we will save some room because the selection sounded awesome as well. Reasonably priced for such an intimate place with great music and as I said before… awesomely amazing food that is sure to please.

What a cute restaurant! What yummy food! What a friendly staff! The husband and I both ordered the fried green tomato sandwich. Since I’m a vegetarian, I asked to have mine with avocado instead of bacon. They were very accommodating… The service was a little slow and if I didn’t have a train to catch(it’s located fairly close to the Amtrak) I wouldn’t have minded, ’cause it’s pretty darned cozy. Husband ordered a side of house-made chips and I had the sweet potato fries — both were delicious. The fries were especially fresh and yummy, imo. Anyway, go there! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed(…except by that loud bleach blonde lady with the phony smile dining with her friends in the corner… hopefully that’s all over now).

Great lunch spot for a few or more than a few! We recently visited for lunch on a sunny afternoon. We were meeting some friends for lunch and I discovered this cute lunch spot on Unilocal and called ahead for a reservation. We arrived to find ample parking both on the street(free on weekends) as well as a small side lot. We were promptly seated in one of the four individual rooms, which we had all to ourselves for at least 90% of our time there. Which made for a very nice experience. Each room… Think original hardwood floors, brick fireplaces and homey art pieces that fit the décor well. The Sunday brunch menu had a small but nice balance of breakfast and true lunch entrée offerings. I ordered the crab cakes. Was pleasantly delighted! They come with a side salad and sweet potato fries. For a very reasonable price too! Would recommend this place, no doubt.

A friend and I recently met for lunch. Emma’s is a quaint little house converted into a restaurant. My friend ordered the tuna salad and I, the cobb salad. Our lunch was thoughtfully arranged on the plates, and it tasted very good. The customer service was friendly.

I love this place and I have been here 2 times when I visit my parents here. The food is always delicious, fresh and the fried green tomatoes are my absolute favorite thing to eat. The service and services are the best, warm, welcoming and make the atmosphere more like eating at a friend’s house not a restaurant. And being in an old home only makes the the experience more homey.

Today was our first visit to Emma’s of Salisbury. The place is charming, clean, interesting and easy to find with good parking. The staff did a great job and were friendly. The food was very good. There were four of us and we all got something different. Mediterranean chicken with wild rice and vegetables, Eggs Benedict(crab cake for the meat), one with mashed potatoes and one with the shrimp bisque and my husband got the shrimp and grits. We also started with the spinach dip. We shared a piece of chocolate cake for the dessert. If I was to have anything even slightly negative to say, it is that we had more than one server. So, how can that be a negative? It is just a little more attention grabbing or distracting.

i’ve been back 3 times and the last 3 things were OK. each time something was wrong, nothing earth shattering but something like; crab cake tepid but everything else including service was great. Also, the menu is FARTOSMALL, almost ridiculously small which perhaps on visit 1 or 2 is Ok but by your 3rd you like me will prob. feel like been here done this! I’ve also seen people leave almost each time i’ve been because the selection was so limited. It’s a beautiful and charming space. Set in a turn of the century home converted into a restaurant but retaining some of the homes’ charm. I predict they may not be on the map a year from now unless they start making the menu more diverse. The single thing to KEEPGOINGBACK is for the Crab Cake Benedict offered on Sunday brunch. but it’s costly for the area and the portion is skimpy. The other establishment offering this yummy style benedict has a larger portion but they also have attitude.
