I got the huarache and it was super spicy. I told the server and she didn’t even offer to get it remade. So if you can’t handle super spicy stuff, like me, get the salsa on the side. I tried to eat it but I just couldn’t. I only took two bites and left the rest. I ate pizza instead, and that was really good! The server was okay.

Excellent $ 1 Taco Tuesday experience! I usually try to limit portion size on my meals, but after ordering a chicken/pollo and steak/Asada tacos: Wow! Rockstar delicious! I immediately had to order another Asada /steak and pastor/pork tacos. An afternoon delight for sure! Enjoy!

The food was amazing! I told my buddy that the way you know food is good is if you like it when your not really that hungry. The waitress promised us we would like it and after we had eaten the owner came over to our table to see if we enjoyed ourselves… we did. I will go back when working in the area.

Piper Dilly is located in a nice plaza near Safeway and Avatar. I was excited to hear they had carne asada fries, but I’ve been on a wedding diet for the last 9 months, so couldn’t try it yet. Well, decided on my cheat day I’m going to try some carne asada fries, as well as some tacos. On Tuesdays, they have Pork(pastor), chicken, and carne asada tacos for $ 1. We recently went a few weeks ago, and tried the fries, as well as each taco. Out of all the tacos, the pastor was our favorite — it had the most flavor. The tacos were pretty boring though– just meat, onions and cilantro. We got a little container of salsa with the tacos. The salsa seemed too watery for my liking, and didn’t have enough kick. The loaded fries are good. It came with the cheese melted onto the fries and then the meat, bacon, sour cream drizzle and guac drizzle. I prefer the cheese to not be melted onto the fries only because it makes it hard to mix everything up and fries get stuck together. This just comes down to a matter of preference. I“m used to the San Diego way! BUt this place isn’t bad. More sour cream and guac would’ve been nice. The service was slow, given there was only 1 waitress running the entire restaurant. We didn’t get our food for over 30 min. Overall, decent food, decent atmosphere… I’d come back for the fries vs having to drive to Papa Chevo’s in Monterey, but still prefer Papa Chevo’s carne asada fries.

Food was good. Nothing to really write home about. Food took a little while to come. Even though there was just one other table than us. Maybe they need another cook. Or to retrain the one they have. The waitress was sweet and apologetic, but I would feel bad if people were coming for lunch from work. You only have so much time for lunch.

Ate there within a month of opening. The review is: ‘meh’. Small menu choice, amateur service(like mom is the waitress while dad is in the kitchen with sister-in-law as prep chef). Prices were good but not enough to have me return.

It took a long time of living in Salinas before I ever went here. The burgers are really good and I’ve heard their turkey clubs are good as well. They have a decent selection of beer but nothing to write home about. The fries that come with the burgers and other lunches/entrees are pretty amazing and always cooked perfectly. I had an issue before of this place being closed on Sundays but Unilocal listing it as opened, looks like Unilocal fixed it after I mentioned it to them. The only reason this place gets 4⁄5 stars is because the wait staff is quick but pretty impersonal, just going through the motions. Again, not a huge issue but this place could kill it if they had those extra pleasentries.

They recently started Taco Tuesdays, $ 1 per taco all day, any combination of asada, pastor, or chicken. Great taste and value. Definitely going back, would pair especially well with happy hour.

I’ve been to this place 3 times to give them several chances. Only because i live so close to the restaurant. Every time i was gravely disappointed. Everytime, the food i’ve received was not good. Overly greasy, burger patties seemed the frozen kind, pre-made like they were from costco. On my last visit, i had the flatbread something-or other-and my friend had the shrimp tacos. The flat bread was drenched grease and had a fishy taste to it. Discusting. The shrimp tacos has very strong fishy taste and smell(a sign of old seafood). To sum it up, this place is gross I see so many good reviews for this place and it confuses me. I pass by this restaurant daily and it is ALWAYS empty. The fries are ok.

Very decent place to eat, steak fries were fresh and good id say that they did take a bit long for the kind of food they sell. The waitress was very nice and friendly, i will definitely go back to try their burger. Or maybe taco Tuesday for the dollar tacos!

Finally decided to try this palce last night and im glad we did! It was a Tuesday night so it wasnt too busy but from other reviews the service was excellent. The place was clean and even had some tvs on the wall for our viewing pleasure. Food was delicious and plentiful and reasonably priced. Waitress was really nice and did an excellent job with everything. We will definitely be coming back again since its so close to home and im always a believer in family owned restaurants.

We’ve been twice and both times the service was awesome, and the food was delicious! We would be regulars if we weren’t trying to be better about how often we eat out lol. Generous portions, the burgers were goodsized, the fries were perfect and the cheese fries had plenty of cheese and came with bacon! Our waitresses kept our drinks filled and were very attentive. In between the times they were checking on us, if we needed something they were easy to flag down too. Prices weren’t bad either:)

Went there yesterday for lunch with my daughter. I had the build your own hamburger with bacon, pepper jack cheese and fried egg and my daughter had the Salmon with fried potatoes… both were soooo delish. Took my wife with me for dinner tonight and had the skirt steak while my wife had the pan seared chicken and for appetizer we had the crab cakes… sooo delish… definitely will be back especially with the 15% military and veterans discount. Must come and dine at this new gem in Salinas.

We just got home from our first visit at Piper a Dilly Bistro and we will definitely be back! It was a slow night but we were instantly welcomed, my hubby felt at home, when it came back to the table from the restroom I saw that he had been given the remote control for the TVs. My five year old daughter had the chicken strips and fries, her came out a little before ours(which I LOVE, get her eating so my hubby and I can have an actual conversation). My husband had the fish tacos which were the special and he loved them. I had the pork belly and peanut butter sandwich it had sliced apples and a peanut butter sauce. The pork belly was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it. I opted to substitute onion rings for my side and they were delish! The dipping sauce was spicy and perfect. So glad we found a new spot close to home. Top notch friendly service!
