Love coming in here to eat whenever I come through here in my truck and park at the pilot truck stop across the street. Best tacos and burritos! The red salsa is delicious and all the food goes great with a bottled Coke. The service is great and fast plus it’s all affordable! I will definetly keep coming here whenever I drive through!

Working in Salinas so turned to Unilocal for a good taqueria. Solid taqueria — worthy of four stars for food but dropped a star for no salsa bar. My normal taqueria test — 2 lengua and 2 pastor tacos. Meat solid. Sauce on pastor — not my favorite. Tortillas have really strong corn flavor — don’t recall ever having ones quite like these. Probably look for another place next time I’m in town

Monterey county is a pretty competitive area when it comes to finding good Mexican food… I have my one go-to in seaside since I live over in Monterey buuuut hands down the best, most authentic Mexican food is Los Grullenses! There are days that my friend and I literally drive all the way to salinas JUST to eat here. Their tacos are killed and probably the most authentic ones you’ll find in California next to having them in Mexico. I’m a huge lover of their carne asada sooes(let’s be real, I’m obsessed lol). Anyways, if you ever roll through salinas you must stop here! The location is definitely in the industrial side of salinas and the building itself is very«authentic» to say the least lol but don’t be scared of the outside!

Caldo is bomb! Tacos are authentic! Ceviche used to be better before they added the imitation crab meet. If your here strictly for food, this is your place. Aguachiles are super good too. And prices are very reasonable.

I’ve been working in the area(about a mile away) for 9 years and Only now I’m eating here… whhhyyyy! Bomb ass tacos. Pros: meat has flavor(asada) and super moist pastor meat Cons: not enough sauce on the tacos and onions arent chopped enough. Over all, I love my new taco spot!!!

Not my favorite. I tried Chile Rellanos with rice and beans and a friend tried the Carne Asada Tacos. Maybe just a bad day !

Badass horchata, pork torta, and lingua tacos. They served a declines, slightly spicy pickled carrot as a side. Seemed slightly but pricier than other similar eateries but totally worth it.

Tacos & salsas are very tasty, but very stingy on their meat… Tables were very dirty, had to ask for a table robe wiped down…

Food is really good and they have fresh squeezed orange juice. Hole in the wall place but worth it for the great food! Can eat here every week for the tacos, shrimp cocktails and posole

Tasty large asada burritos! Pastor tacos were wonderfully spicy and they have beer, can’t go wrong.

Everything, from the salsa & chips to each of the various meat tacos and the meat torta, was seasoned exactly as much as necessary and no more. The hunnybunny and I were blown away by the subtlety and competence in everything that we tasted, and were Los Grullenses closer to home we’d frequent it. Now, how to get back to Salinas…

Went this afternoon for a quick bite during our drive. We always fill up at the Pilot across the street, so we thought we’d finally check this place out. I ordered the Tostada de Cameron, though because they were out of tostada shells, I received a bowl of shrimp ceviche with corn chips, which I actually preferred. :-) This meal cost me less than $ 5. Large horchata is $ 2.85 and super refreshing. Burritos are just under $ 5 and my boyfriend seemed pretty happy about the quality. Much larger restaurant than I anticipated, but kept a good hole-in-the-wall vibe. Really nice people working here, and conveniently located near the freeway. They DO accept Visa/MC, so don’t miss out because you only have a couple crumpled ones in your wallet. There are a lot of cameron options on the menu, which will most likely have me back here soon.

This place is seriously awesome and a must-stop if you’re hungry when in Salinas, or passing by on the 101(it’s right off the freeway). My wife and I had the #10 and #12. Mine was some sort of garlic shrimp concoction that was superb. Tasty, with plenty of shrimp and great beans. My mouth is watering, just thinking about it! My wife’s carnitas quesadilla was massive – far more than the average human could consume. Be sure to split this one! The meat was moist and amazingly flavorful. The tortillas were real and there was cheese a’plenty. This is a major find in Salinas!
