Stayed here on our cross country trip. After a 10 hour drive, this hotel was a perfect resting place. Comfy bed, clean rooms, loved the suite. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful– and on checkout they gave our dogs treats! Highly recommend. Wish there was a Candlewood at every stop along the way!

My mom and I stayed here while visiting family in Salina, and we were nothing short of amazed at the Candlewood, compared to other hotels we had stayed at which advertised many of the same features. One of the first pluses is that the hotel is centrally located in Salina, and isn’t that far from the interstate either. Second, while some people may take affront to this, there is an Aldi grocery store in front of the hotel, which while geared at a cost-conscious consumer, is owned by member of the same family that owns Trader Joe’s, and we were surprised to see some of the same types of products there. There are also a good number of restaurants and other services nearby as well, which is really good if you come down sick like my mom and I both did. The only weird thing about the room was the TV — it was at an awkward angle, and the partiers in the room across the hall who constantly yelled. The hallway had a ton of beer cans and bottles in it, however, we knew the staff was doing the best they could. It also had a full kitchen — including dishwasher — which was a nice touch for business travelers. When we travel to Oregon and other states, Candlewood is definitely on our list now.

We have never stayed at a Candlewood before so we didn’t know what to expect. We got a great price so we thought we’d give it a shot and I’m glad we did. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially the young lady who checked us in at the front desk. The rooms are huge and have all the amenities you would need, full kitchen, large screen TV, free wifi and very comfortable beds. They also have a DVD player and you can go to the front desk and pick a movie for free. They have washers and dryers which are also free. They have a small shop where you can purchase a few items at reasonable prices. they have a huge ice machine and bags nearby to bag you own as you need. My only complaint is there was no table/chair to eat a meal on and no comfortable chair to sit in to watch TV or just relax. That would have made this place perfect. I will still continue to look for a Candelwood when we travel.

Very reasonable price. Nice rooms with a nice kitchen lots of free things… Like paper towels and dish detergent and things. They have free laundry machines. And also free ice with bags where you can bag your own.

I stayed here because of a group rate, very cheap. I normally like Candlewood Suites, but I didn’t have a very good experience here. The staff was very friendly and were very helpful. I’m not sure if I was placed in the room because it was the last one or not, but I was given the room right by the front desk, it is handicap, which doesn’t matter to me. The problem was with the person above me, they were extremely noisy and constantly walking around. It was like Godzilla was up there tearing down a city. He woke me up numerous times throughout the night until about 3a.m. The second problem was with the front desk in the morning. I could hear everything that was said by employees just talking and customers checking out. It does not have a pool, although the mini-store and laundry mat are very nice. The rooms were nice, fridge, stove, microwave, nice TV, a bit on the small side, but didn’t matter for just me. I will probably give them another chance at some point.

I would stay here again with the cheap rate we had. Depending on what full price was, I might think twice. The place is nice enough. They have a DVD library you can choose from to watch in your room for free and my wife said their on-site shop was decently priced. Our room was a decent size and had a kitchen that included a full-size fridge, microwave and oven. The bathroom was setup awkwardly, making it difficult to get to the toilet while closing the door. I will mention that they have THEWORSTBATHROOMTOWELS in the world. Seriously, the things are ridged and feel awful. Also, doesn’t a ridge defeat the purpose of putting towel to skin to dry off? Bed sucked like all hotel beds suck. Standard TV with normal hotel channels. WIFI was a great plus and the desk area was my favorite part of the room. If you’re making an extended stay in this craphole of a town, you should consider staying here.
