The food was atrocious only to be matched by the service. I ordered an open face turkey sandwich, billed as a taste of Thanksgiving. It was smothered in white gravey to the point where one could not distinguish what was on the plate. In the end there was more gravy than turkey. In addition, the gravy tasted like flour, no seasoning and way to thick. In addition the music was to loud, and the band playing songs no one has ever heard. Finally, the service stunk, our waitress essentially ignored us. Do not go here if you are from out of town, you will not be welcome.

A bit run down and the food was just okay. The service was good. Are they trying to be like Cracker Barrel?

This used to be a really nice place. Down home cooking, comfort food, really nice atmosphere. Recently, they appear to have changed their menu, and v attempted to change the atmosphere something a little more«high class». The result is sadly lacking all the charm that made this place worth coming to.

We have always stopped here on our way to Vail or on the way back… if not both ways! Apparently has the same ownership, but seems to be going downhill. Somewhat difficult to decide between a 3 and a 4. We both had their fish and chips. Chips were of mediocre at best, food service quality They were served hot. The fish was purported to be haddock, and likely was. They were more like fish fingers, however,(think chicken fingers) than real filets like we are used to. My wife likes to remove the excess breading. Had she done so this time there would have been little left. The pies we had were outstanding. The crust is some of the best I have had in a long time. Since there are many food choices in the little this little berg, we’ll probably check out other places rather than coming here by default. This place can do a lot better It has in the past.

Stopped to eat here only because I was looking for a diner type restaurant. Boy, what a nice surprise. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend a stop here.

Very inconsistent. When we first moved here 12 years ago they were very consistent. In the last 5 years or so they’ve kind of gone downhill. The overly religious items and employees are a bit off-putting. The food is usually good. Service is usually good too. We don’t go much anymore.

Solid choice for dinner with the family. Service was very friendly. Small prime rib was a great value and the green chili was divinely spicy.

Excellent breakfast. Hot coffee, build-your-own omelets, biscuits and gravy were awesome… and great service.

The ambiance is trying way too hard to be modern and chic. When we arrived we waited for several minutes before our waitress acknowledged that we were there, despite it not being busy. After that we saw her all of a few times, when she dropped our food off and got the check. Very poor service at best. The food was not worth the price and when it arrived, it was missing components. The BLT was a B with a slice of lettuce and no tomatoes. Honestly find somewhere else with better food, service, and prices.

We stopped in to the Country Bounty for dinner just minutes before they were closing for the night and were greeted by very friendly staff members. My wife ordered the Monte and I ordered the Open Faced Turkey Sandwich. The Bounty Monte arrived soaked with the French toast batter which was not very well«flash fried» at all so she found it to be more wet and soggy than«flash fried». We were able to flag down our server who was very friendly and apologetic and we of course told her not to worry about it as it wasn’t her fault. My wife had already had a taste of my open faced turkey sandwich so she just switched to that. Let me tell you now about the open faced turkey sandwich. It was ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELYAMAZING!!! I don’t know what the chef did to the mashed potatoes, but they just tasted Amazing!!! I wanted to just keep eating them until my stomach would have burst!!! The Open Faced Turkey Sandwich was done to perfection! There was just the right amount of turkey covered with just the right amount of gravy! The meal was so tasty it needed no salt at all but of course I added some pepper as I add pepper to just about everything. The meal was so good that I asked what other good food they had to ply us with and our server Sarah suggested the Dutch Apple Pie ala mode. OMG! That was so delicious as well!!! The staff was very welcoming and gracious considering we showed up about 4 minutes before closing time. Our server Sarah made great meal suggestions and aside from the slight issue with my wife’s first meal, we really enjoy the food, the ambiance, and again, the awesome staff! The Country Bounty is by no means a 5 star restaurant, but then again, very few establishments are. But the food in my opinion was so exceptionally good that if I lived even remotely close to Salida, I would be at the Country Bounty on a pretty regular basis having the Open Faced Turkey Sandwich and I bet if I tried the Bounty Monte the next time, I bet it would be incredibly delicious as well. Thank you for a most delicious meal Country Bounty & Staff!!! Sincerely, «The Duke» :-)~

We’re from out of town and stopped by while driving through. Definitely one of our better meals while road tripping through Colorado! Reasonably priced. Burgers cooked to perfection. Veggies and salads were fresh. Mac n cheese was delish. The hummus had a nice kick to it. Fish was cooked perfectly and was fresh, as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone in town looking for a good place to eat.

This place has great food and even better pie. I’ve been here twice with my boyfriend’s family on their trip to Crested Butte, and every single time, the food was amazing. If they’re busy, their service can suffer, but as a server myself, I can completely understand. Their pies are absolutely amazing. I wish I had somewhere to get pies this good back in Texas!

Visited for breakfast on Wed 21 May 2014 at 830. Clean dining room, friendly staff. A country diner. Nearly 15 breakfast menu options, prices $ 4-$ 12. They offer an espresso menu and have craft beer(New Belg, Elevation) available on tap. Tasty, thick cut bacon and decent fair-trade, organic coffee. I had the biscuits and gravy(2 biscuits) with homemade(sliced link sausage) gravy for $ 4.50 — nothing to write home about. Service was slower than I’d expect from a country diner. In all, the place was ok. I’d stop here again, but wouldn’t go out of my way to do so.

Do not order the lunch portion on the taco salad deluxe. Smallest salad I have ever gotten for the price. So disappointed. I probably won’t be back, even though the service was great.

Unilocal steered me wrong. As the other reviews mention the service was good. I came for dinner so maybe breakfast is better. My salad was mainly the tough veins of the lettuce(I hate that). My country fried steak come out and I found a strip of plastic in the gravy. This may be the result of using bagged gravy. The worst part of the meal came screaming out of me. Pass on this place

We ate breakfast here on our ski trip to Monarch. Staff was very friendly and attentive. My husband and son had a breakfast burrito that was the size of the plate. They both were satisfied but if they were to eat it again would request the green chili sauce on the side… it was a little over powering. My omelet was yummy but the breakfast potatoes left a little to be desired. They seemed to be just out of the frozen package and flash fried quickly. The adjacent gift shop had a lot of cute stuff and much needed Burt’s Bees lip balm. We would definitely go back!!!

Great breakfast selection, gift shop with items grandma would like. Nice place to stop and relax as you are traveling. The food was good and they were not very busy. Best part was the friendly staff too.
