This is just a really solid establishment: the pizzas are all really good, thin, crispy and tasty. The salads are large and considerably better than most places in rural america. My Dad wanted desert so we shared a key lime pie which he was really impressed with and I though was pretty decent. I had their porter, which I’d had before and again it is solid, didn’t blow me away but was a good beer. All round surprisingly good food for the location.

EVERY time I’m even close to Salida I rush with a hungry belly to this little hot spot! Not sure how, but Amicas pizza is truly like none other… have actually suggested they must put SOMETHING in the dough(illegal, magical, etc??) to make it so flippin addictive! Usually end up with a few pies for the bellies & a few to go. Any variety will do. Somehow they are ALL equally & mind-blowingly delicious. Except maby a «Hawaiian pizza», Eww. That would be gross. Not sure how anyone orders that, but if YOU do then let me know how Amicas version was. To top it all off(literally), they have an in house hot pepper oil garnish that I swear I have reoccuring dreams of. Tis DELICIOUS! Slather it all over that divine slice. Then go hike S mountain!

Pizza. That word brings with it a strong connotation to many words: deep dish, New York, pepperoni. Amica’s has surpassed it all. Your taste buds will dance among the Angels as you sink your teeth into this work of art that Amica’s humbly calls«pizza». Imagine the most beautiful image you can possibly imagine… Amica’s had found a way to bake this beauty into flavor and it is a magical experience. If aliens ever invade planet earth it will not be for us, it will not be for our resources, it will be for Amica’s pizza.

Not sure why so many people are confused by the order process, it’s not a big deal. I had an amazing vegetarian calzone that they carved the dough like a blazing half sun. Really cool! Any pizza can be made into a calzone, friendly service and local draft beers on tap.

Stopped in at Amica’s for lunch after reading a bunch of positive Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed. I’d had Pizza the day before so I was leaning towards some pasta or a panini, however, after reading the reviews I felt like I would have missed out if I skipped the pizza. It was awesome! Thin and crispy, delicious sauce. I had the Salsiccia, and chased it with a Headwaters IPA. Awesomeness! Aside from the food, the atmosphere was really cool as well. It’s been three-weeks, so I cannot put my finger on exactly what it was, but I want to go back right now! The waitress was super nice and attentive, and everybody just seemed super cool. Next time in Salida I think we may need to hang out in this place for a bit longer.

We stopped off in Salida and came upon this place after a morning drive through the mountains. The ordering process in my opinion is a little weird. You have to pay prior to being seated and so it was awkward that you have to tip before you were served. We had to go back up and pay every time you ordered something. I’m guessing they had a lot of people skip out on meals. We ordered the 12″ classico, it was delicious. I never had a wood fired pizza before and I must say that I am a fan. I also liked their hot oil that you can put on your pizza, it wasn’t spicy but it had the right amount of heat to your pizza. Overall the pizza was great and was perfect for our afternoon spent in Salida.

We liked the place, but the pizza wasn’t so awesome as it was undercooked. I thought the lasagna was far too spicy. The salad was fantastic and the service was very good. Overall kid friendly and a must visit in Salida with important exceptions. Keep in mind that you order everything before you sit down! If we could give 3.5 stars then yes. It was not near 5 because of poorly cooked pizza and overly spicy lasagna.

We had dinner … the food was EXCELLENT… my husband loved the beer… I enjoyed the rootbeer. I had the soup and salad… the soup was Delicious… no, really. It was so so good… had pepperoni and a few leaves of spinach… I want some for lunch tomorrow. The TAHANI(sp?) dressing on the salad was so good… again, I would like to go back by and get some of that dressing to take home with us(they sell 12oz containers of it). Husband had a calzone… he said the sauce on top was really good… but he wished he wold have order just a pizza. We met a fellow at the bar area who was from out of town… he had a pizza and he said it was super(the white pizza). We took 2 desserts home… haven’t tried them yet — but they look wonderful! The only thing I could suggest was that the server… ours was a male… talk to us. He didn’t say one word… well, no he did… he asked if we wanted black pepper on the salad. He also didn’t bring a spoon with the soup… we had to wave down the hostess and never came to ask if we wanted more drinks… and barely set our food down… and that was pretty much it. Husband had to go to bar to get more beer… and didn’t know how to get to go desserts since he never came back. Would have been really nice if he would have TALKED to us… just a little tiny bit. Not one word except, «do you want black pepper on salad… and do you want cheese?» Maybe they are a little standoffish since they don’t take your order… you order at the front counter. I think we might have had more drinks but he never asked… Anyway, go — the food is great… just don’t expect a lot of friendliness or chit chat.

Amicas was a Unilocal find! So thanks Unilocal peeps! Amicas is close to the downtown«strip» but could be easily overlooked. The prices, the beer and the food was all EXCELLENT. We had a couple different pizzas, and the chopped salad that had this BA tahini dressing. The Headwaters IPA was quite drinkable. 7% ABV, with a nice pine bite. Gave it a 3.75 on Untappd. Only thing I can gripe about is when we asked what were their best selling/favorite dishes we got the response«It’s all good». Come on, throw me a top 5 or something.

Good pizza at a reasonable price point with good vibes. A small personal pizza with toppings goes for $ 8 or so. They have green chile beer and usually about 5 others on draught. If you are eating with a group, it is so easy to pay separately because you order at the register once your table is ready(you can close your check then or leave it open). Tip: The front table is open communal seating. Any pizza can be made into a calzone– just ask!

Amicas is a must try if you’re in Salida and like pizza. It can get crowded and sometimes there is a wait, but the staff is always hustling and tables turn quickly. My husband always goes for the standard Pepperoni Pizza and I usually stick with my favorite, the Biella. If they have green chili beer available, you should definitely order one of those too. I love their spicy oil also. SO good for dipping your wood fired crust in. YUM! We also sometimes split the Caesar salad, minus the anchovies. I think it’s a little dry, but my husband loves it so I have a few bites to help him out.

Great pies and a varied menu of other traditional items. Great beer brewed there, root beer, too, and friendly staff. What’s not to like? Did I mention it was affordable?

Now that we have finished our salad, pizzas and tiramisu I can use my over stuffed sausage fingers to tell you this place is a gem. I new favorite local place for my husband and I to enjoy while visiting Salida. Every bite exceeding our expectations. I was only able to eat half my 9in POLLO pizza and my husband had the 9in Pepperoni with beef, shared a house salad and shared the dessert. I want to mention the crafty delicious hot oil condiment on the table. Don’t be afraid — it’s tasty not scalding. We didn’t care for the ordering process as you walk in the door(a bit more pressure to order that way) but we got over it. It’s quaint, warm, friendly with an eclectic Colorado crowd that made these two Texans feel welcome.

Salida = Exit here and try the pizza and beer. Pizza cooked fabulous. Crust is perfect. Homemade brew is well done. Catch me here at least once a month.

Sorry to be the dissenting voice here, but we were not impressed. We were out in this area visiting family and ordered takeout one night. Perhaps the in-house dining experience is way better, so let me start by being fair and saying that this experience is for take-out only. So first we spent like 20 minutes perusing the website menu. Who knew things could be so complicated. As outsiders, we were under the impression that the pizzas basically came in one size … it seemed like there was a lunch and dinner size option but nothing like small medium and large. It seemed like the type of place where everything is one of those kind of personal size 9 inch type pizzas where you have to order like one per person. Then we called and were first put on hold for five minutes(seriously). When we finally got to order, the first thing we were told was that there WERE actually sizes to choose from. We ordered two pizzas and a salad and went to pick it up 20 minutes later. I have to say that coming in cold without any familiarity with this restaurant or its offerings, the menu is confusing and should maybe be revamped. Upon arriving, our order was ready, though they misspelled my husband’s name on the boxes. Pet peeve, but if you don’t know how to spell the name you are given, you should ask. We drove straight home and ate. The pizza was hot and looked promising, but really was not that great. The toppings were distributed unevenly. The sauce was kind of just OK. My husband didn’t like the sausage. I know that probably sounds petty, but what can I say? It just wasn’t up our alley. The salad we ordered was fine but nothing special. Add that to a fairly pricey tab for two pizzas and a salad, and I have to say that it felt overpriced and underwhelming, I don’t know. Like I said, maybe it’s different when you dine in. Maybe it’s just pizza that doesn’t travel well and really should be eaten straight out of the oven. We’d give it another try but I think we’d dine in.

What more can one say about this place?!? If you are visiting this area of CO or simply passing through, you have to stop here. Great downtown, amazing historic building, friendly service and excellent food. Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had and their salads are incredible too.

Good selection of beers and food items. Flexible with substitutions on pizzas and calzones. Friendly and personal service. Prompt arrival to table of food order. My three dining companions each had their own pizza, all enjoyed. Two of us had beer which was fresh and tasty. My calzone was a bit doughy. I should have ordered something else. It’s okay to try different stuff and learn what you like from various restaurants. The sauce served with the calzone was outstanding. I poured the leftover sauce into the leftover half of my calzone, which I will now eat for dinner. See photos below.

Stopped while checking out dowtown Salida. The pizzas were great, the crust was tasty, and they had amazing beer selections that they brew. Ome tip, the 9″ lunch portion is not big enough to fill most people I’d say, and for the small difference in price, get the 12″ and take leftovers home if you have any.
