Great experience after several bad ones locally. We were headed to luv luv teriyaki but wanted alcohol after a long day. This was our first time going here. Immediate service with a back up waitress to ensure fast service. Happy hour menu was affordable and filling. Smoking porch was an amenity that I appreciated. We sat next to the pool tables and had our space invaded by wanna-​be pool champions but it was our choice not to move. They provided a bit of entertainment. Lol good service good food good times. :)

Amazing!!! Loved it! Loved the atmosphere, service and food. Greeted right away. Great music… Not too loud. Clean tables. Servers so friendly. Offered the specials with enthusiasm which we ordered. Great food!!! Good prices too.
First time here, found by mistake. So excited to find it! My brother appreciated the smoking porch and I want to come back and play pool!
Servers very attentive to our needs and checked often with out bothering.
Finally a place that gets it! We will be back!

Best Taco Wednesday!!! only 2 bucks for fish, pork or carne asada & they are full of meat! Great quick lunch!

Of course I highly recommend South Lib. If you ever have a concern or suggestion, just let one of the owners or bartenders know & they are very happy to do whatever they can to make your visit more enjoyable!

My husband and I went to try out a new bar in Salem. We walked in and immediately felt like we were shrouded in cigarette smoke. Turns out there’s a smoking room adjacent to the dining room, so everytime someone opens the door, smoke gushes in. It’s inescapable.
Food tasted fine and reasonably priced. The only vegetarian entrees are grilled cheese and mac ‘n’ cheese. I’m not insulted because these are two of my favorite foods; this is meant more as a head’s up to other veggies out there. The house salad is a basic iceberg lettuce salad with croutons and cheese. They had a taco salad that looked amazing.
Beers on tap were dreadful — this is approximate but I think there were 7 or so domestics and two microbrews, both of which were IPAs.
Service was pretty swell. There were two guys that checked on us numerous times and were really polite.
They have a ton of televisions and also a projector which is awesome. The acoustics are terrible so I imagine it gets really loud when people start getting turnt.
The cigarette thing is just awful. I will never return for that single reason.

Seemed cool at first– but weird that they let belligerent people in there night after night. Crazy tyler guy in there drinks too much and has 3 people that have to talk him out of fighting. Never seen the guy before but literally everyone knew him on a first name basis. Don’t understand how he is in there time after time ruining nights. Friend asked a bouncer, «why is he still in here?» They said they know him. Cool excuse. Very professional.
Just think it’s unfortunate when you go out to have a good night and the establishment doesn’t look out for your well-​being and calmly admits customer preference.

Just had breakfast with my wife and it was amazing. Crystal was awesome. Totally recommend it.

Went on a Thursday ¹¹⁄₁₂. Sat down with a group of 6. There was live music when we got there. We all ordered our drinks normally. The gentleman that served us dropped off our drinks within a few minutes. Our server then lists out all the prices for each drink. I go to hand him my card and the server says, «Oh cash only. There is an ATM right there.» I’m from WA so i don’t normally come across this. The ATM charges a $ 2.75 fee as well. I don’t get any money out. When the server comes by to collect our money, I ask him where the sign was that it was a cash only night? The server says, «Oh we don’t have a sign. We just don’t cash at night.» Interesting…
TL:DR DON’T clap at the band. It will show your weakness
Bring cash with you everywhere in case the bar you go to decides to make up a rule on the spot.

This is my go to bar! Bartenders are friendly and food is great! Wednesday nights are taco nights and I have to say I have never had tacos as good as these. The steak tacos are very flavorful. Another favorite is the ribs! Love the environment here:)

I went in with some work friends-​nostalgic for me as I occasioned the place years ago when in school. Sucked. Kitchen screwed up two of four orders at our table. I ordered a Monte Cristo (regular menu item). Got a triple decked sandwich – garlic toast, meat, hardly any cheese, lettuce and tomato. Funny thing – the burnt side of the toast was hidden on the inside.
The service lagged though the bartender was very pleasant; comp’d my meal and another at the table. She worked to makeup for the kitchen deficiency as best as she could.
I will defer further patronage to this establishment.

I came on Saturday evening with some friends and an exchange student to enjoy my night. I had a big group of friends with me and as i walked in i went to buy drinks from the bar and was waiting for my other friends to join me. I than noticed the bouncer up front giving some of my friends trouble due to the fact his ID was not american but it was a official government ID and clearly states in ENGLISH his DOB **/**/*** (23 years old) he refused to let him in and ultimately caused a scene and kicked all of us out. This was my very first and LAST expierence at this bar. I felt very disrespected and i only get led to believe that this was a race issue due to the fact his ID was in arabic but clearly states his DOB in english. Will never come here again!

My international friends and I decided to come to this bar and grill after hearing about it from a fellow student at my college. But this bar wouldn’t validate any international ID. The ID that is issued by a government and clearly states his «Date of Birth» in English. It is even blacklight checkable. This establishment obviously has to update their acceptable ID list and hire better bouncer who isn’t a racist.
This is the 1^st and my my last time I would go to this bar.

Awesome service. Checked on by both servers several times. Good food. Great service. Can’t go wrong.

I’ve been coming in here somewhat frequently since I turned 21. Personally for me it’s hit or miss. I like their smoke room, and I like the set up they have for the tables, pool, and dancing area. BUT it’s one of those places that are not fun at all unless it’s somewhat busy.
For instance, I went in there during a week day that they had a special going. The place was super busy, service was great and I had a great time. I went in there a couple days later and the bartenders seem just out of it. Like they didn’t care if they messed up my drink or not. Place they charged me for things they didn’t charge me for before. It was just weird and threw me off a bit. But overall, good place.

My Dad and Stepmom are regulars who eat dinner and have a couple cocktails almost every Tuesday for the last several years. They order the same thing every time and their favorite waitress, Amanda, has their drinks ready when they arrive. My husband and I have joined them for dinner on multiple occasions. I’ve enjoyed everything, especially the taco salad. They have pool, jukebox, large patio and it’s pretty low-​key if you come before the «young» crowd. Btw, they make a pretty stiff drink too.

The food is pretty decent, but this is sort of a meat market type of place. For Salem. I can remember many nights at this place, people packed out the door, all vying to dance and grind on each other.
During the afternoons it’s pretty low key. At night it can get pretty out there, especially Fridays and Saturdays. And frankly, Salem needs that.
I wouldn’t really go here for the food, but they have it. You go because this is as close to a night club as you’re going to find in Salem.
Which, I’ll grant, –is– pretty sad…

Okay this is regarding the blonde bartender, she provided terrible service… this has been the worst service I have ever experienced in my lifetime. I was here on a night of a friends 21^st birthday.
Right off the bat we walked in and she said «Once he pukes you will be the one to clean it up». First of all we brought all the business for the night, 90% of the customers were from our group. I cant believe she treated him so poorly on his 21^st birthday, his first night at a bar with his twin. What a horrible place for anyone to come when they hire incompetent employees. I have lost so much respect for this establishment from this night and will never return. I have quiet the range of friends who drink here on a daily basis and they will definitely here of this. You guys need to get your game together. For a bar with such potential the managers really need to reconsider the people they hire. Absolutely horrible. I really regret tipping that bartender, might as well have a mentally incapable child working for you.

Tis an interesting place to people watch, as pointed out by my awesome cousin. As soon as I stepped through the door, I spied some woman on woman groping and kissing; I don’t see that stuff every day and I’m reasonably immature… or unreasonably, you decide. My cousin lectured me about staring at the same-​sex pda and I retorted with a fave movie quote «when am I ever going to see this shit and not have to pay for it?» or something very close to that.
Anyway, the place was bumpin’ the drinks were a bit on the pricy side and, if you people watch there’s plenty interesting sorts to check out while knocking yourself silly on Audios M Effers and other things that you should have stopped drinking in your 20s…
South Lib %$^&* yeah!

Liberty Bar & Grill had a buy one get one free coupon in the newspaper so Hub and I decided to give this place a try for breakfast. We got there at about 10:30 AM. Place was not very busy and was very clean and tidy. There is a lottery games area. Nice TVs and bar. Waitress/​Bartender girl was very polite and friendly. Our coffee cups never went dry.
I ordered Sausage and Eggs, Hub ordered Biscuits and Gravy. Let me tell you this: The breakfasts are made from scratch so be prepared to wait 15 – 20 minutes but it IS worth the wait. AND… you get plenty! Trust me two people could share one breakfast easily. On the weekends they have their $ 4.95 special, which can also be shared.
The waitress was telling me about their different specials and things going on for each day of the week. It seems as if you can walk in anytime and find something going on regarding eats and drinks so the next time we’re going to try their dinners and shoot some pool.
My only gripe would be that there is NO entrance off of Liberty road and NO sign to tell you to enter on Hrubetz road. We got lost! Other than that the place is great. Give them a try.
