Great food, good variety and friendly service. It is nice to go to a restaurant and have the staff clearly focused on your positive experience. I will be back for sure.

Just order the mixed plate and a chicken combo. We were driving North from Bend, Or and were STARVING! We had to be to Portland in an hour, so time was of the essence. We found Maya Maya and called in a «to go» order. Little did we know, it was quite a ways off the beaten path(with Friday evening traffic) but it was definitely worth it. Our plates were ready when we drove up and much to my surprise, the«to go» containers buckled under the weight of the food when we went to pick them up. Hubby and I devoured 75% of his mixed plate and didn’t even touch mine – there was that much food! Would we drop in again? Hell ya!!! The variety Tons of food and it’s just delicious!

Great food especially for Salem! We had the poncet, adobo chicken, and lumpia. Finished with some ice cream. Everything tasted delicious, great flavor, very affordable. Really nice owner also who came to check in on us.

Pretty good food and fast! As mentioned by others, the parking sucks. They only had one vegetarian option, which was yakisoba noodles, and it was ok. My friend got the big island plate and loved it! The price is really good, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to a vegetarian.

The food is pretty good, but the service is terrible. They had obviously short staffed themselves and it was super busy. After waiting 20 minutes, our party eventually had to get everything to go in order to get back to work on time.

First time trying this place and I have to say it was pretty good. Ordered the spicy chicken, the big plate and the yakasoba. Would have given 5 stars but some of the chicken was very fatty in the spicy chicken and the yakasoba was mushy, other than that the food was good. The best part of the meal was the grilled pork. Amazing flavor, huge portions, good price for amount of food. I will be back and would encourage others to go there.

I came here today for the first time. First impression, clean! The restaurant smelled like lovely Bbq. The wait staff was very friendly and the lady behind the counter suggested some tasty items to try. I decided on the big island plate because I wanted to try some of everything. The plate came with steamed white rice, pansit(a noodle dish with veggies), four pieces of lumpia, two bbq pork skewers, and bbq chicken. I thought everything had a great flavor but the pansit was on the cold side where the bbq was steaming hot. I think this is where Maya Maya really shines is in their bbq!!! I loved the flavor and the char on the pork and the chicken. I know I will be back especially for the bbq! I want to try some of the other dishes they offer as well. Some that interest me is their bbq plate, adobo chicken, and the chicken katsu.

I’m looking forward to trying more of the menu. I felt a little rushed when ordering, so I got the Big Island Plate, to try a bit of everything. The food was tasty, but very heavy. I’ll be back.

Very dark and cold little restaurant located in a cramped, dingy strip mall. Typical ol’ Salem. Flavors and presentation were surprisingly good Really quite solid food at very low cost Place could be improved by being CLEANER(wipe them tables, folks!), turning on the dang heat for your freezing patrons, and having some decent overhead lighting!

Best Filipino food I’ve had(besides my mother-in-laws). The Lumpia was great, but would prefer they charged a bit more and added more filling. Large portions, clean, friendly, reasonably priced, and delicious.

We decide to try this place for lunch in a whim. I ordered the«Big Island plate» which has b-b-q pork in skewers, b-b-q chicken, lump is, rice and pandit(thin rice) noodles. There was way to much food to eat at one string and it was all very tasty. My wife tried the b-b-q skewered pork with pandit. It has two skewers and a big helping on pandit noodles. The prices were acceptable and the food delicious. It’s a keeper! We’ll go back.

Went here for the first time today and loved it! The food came quickly and everything was really good. I got the Pansit Plate and got a huge portion for only $ 7.50. Someone else got the chicken Katsu plate and that also looked pretty good. If you’re really hungry though, I’d definitely go for the Big Island plate because that comes with such a good variety of food.

South Salem, OR: Order at counter … …self serve fountain drinks, pick up dessert spoons and chopsticks at self serve area. Have a seat and your food will be brought out pretty darn quick. PDQ, like inside of five minutes! Our food looked attractive and the rice was tender. The chef even came out and stopped at a couple of tables, ours included. Hubby had the Fiery Filipino Plate and I the Adobo Plate. Although our food was attractively arranged, the flavor of the meats were not as outstanding as others we’ve had elsewhere. The level of heat was mild on hubby’s and my adobo chicken was too salty, with four of the five pieces of drummettes and wings bordered on dry, like being overcooked on high heat. I shared my concern with my plate to the chef, who offered a substitution, but it wasn’t horrible, just not seasoned to my liking, so I declined his generous offer. I would consider returning to try something else just because of the great customer service.

I read reviews before trying Maya Maya. So many others tried the Big Island Plate that I had to do it too. SOGOOD! Pork, chicken, lumpias(deep fried veggies wrapped in very thin eggroll type wrap) with spicy dipping sauce, white rice, and pansit which is very thin rice noodles with chicken and veggies(fresh sliced green beans, carrots, and green cabbage). The cashier/order person had a bit of difficulty with the gift certificate I used, but got it figured it. No issues there. The owner came out to check on us. Nice guy. Nice touch. The only issue is the parking, which has nothing to do with the food or service. Just beware that parking is a real pain in the backside. Most surprising thing for me … my husband LOVES the pansit. He’s not a pasta fan.

We tried Maya Maya Pacific Grill. I found the food good, but I wasn’t blown away like other reviewers. My wife had the Chicken Moco($ 8.25), and I had the Big Island Plate($ 11.99). The food was well prepared, the restaurant clean, and the employees cheerful and friendly. We will return. Three Stars.

The interior and exterior of this establishment are relatively plain. But don’t let looks deceive you. The food is excellent and well worth trying. We opted for the Big Island Plate, which gives you a good sample of their Hawaiian and Filipino menu items. The BBQ pork skewers were done to perfection; the meat was tender, with just the right amount of spices. Ditto for the chicken. Lumpias, which resembled tiny taquitos, were delicious, too. My favorite was the Pansit. These fine rice noodles had great taste, texture, and spicing. Wonderful. Maya Maya was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely return.

If you’re looking at dining in Salem, I would definitely recommend Maya Maya Pacific grill. The only other restaurant I would give a 5 star rating to would be Amadeus. The food was excellent the portions where large and the service was fast and quality. The owner even came out to greet guests and chatted with people for an extended period of time. My wife and I split the Big Island Plate, delicious. It was enough for both of us and some to take home. All for about 12 bucks. The only downfall is the location, even though it is convenient, this parking lot is cramped and it is not in the best section of South Salem. With that said we loved it and will definitely be returning soon!

This place is fantastic! I came in unsure of what to try but the cashier recommended the big island plate, basically a little bit of the best items. If was delicious and full of flavor! I will definitely be back

We put our faith in Unilocal and came out happy. The big island plate is amazing. $ 13 and you get noodles, rice, some pork, some kabobs, eggroll type things and other various meat. Every element of the plate is amazing. I couldn’t decide what to eat next. The rice was really, really good. The meat perfectly marinated. It breaks my heart to know I won’t be traveling through here for a long time, but when I do I’ll eat here!

Hello DELICIOUS! Check out all these 5-star reviews. Newly FAMOUS! The food here really is tremendous. A couple of tips: come with a pal and share the Big Island. The PORTIONS are generous and I think the Island is the best VALUE. yum yum yum! The SAUCE is out of this world. I also like the Chicken Katsu. And yet there is a real distinct difference in all the sauces. In the katsu dish I think the secret is the delicious BREADING. You know what I did? I took a couple pieces of chicken from the katsu plate and mixed it with the sauce from Big Island plate. The lumpia is also VERY tasty. I didn’t fall in love with the pansit. But man, the rice and veggies are SPOT-ON. Eat here now!

pretty good filipono, hawaiian? food. portions are good sized. the bbq chicken was a less sweet teriyaki flavor. it’s nice to have some variety and the food here is extensive(a lot of chicken dishes). worth stopping by and giving a try.
