Oberle Meats

Every chance we get we stop at Oberle’s for their sausages. I especially like their bratwursts. They are the best anywhere. We just stopped in there last week and discovered something new – their garlic cheese! It’s wonderful (and addictive.) It’s about a 65 mile trip to Ste. Genevieve but it’s well worth it. I think we’ll be going back next week for more garlic cheese.

It’s been over a week since I’ve been to Ste. Genevieve, and I still cannot get over how awesome the food from here is! We came to Ste. Gen for our two year anniversary, and got to experience plenty of wineries and a couple local dining spots. One common denominator amongst most of these places: Oberle. We went to Audubon’s for our two-​year anniversary dinner, and our favorite part of our meal was their sausage and cheese plate; which was comprised of Oberle. The next day we hit a good handful of wineries; what did most of them serve? Oberle. Fueled by our (well, mostly my) obsession with this place, we bought a dollar cooler from Dollar Tree before heading home so we could load up on Oberle products. The staff was exceptionally friendly and allowed us to sample some of their other products, and we wound up going home with plenty, all for a great bargain! If I lived in Ste. Gen, I’d be coming to this place often; easily the best meat and cheese from a local butchery I’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

You will not find a better selection of well prepared meets in the area. The product quality and cut is always spot on. I also have had great experience with the staff. They will go above and beyond to provide you with exactly what you’re looking for. Try the Oberle sausage while you’re in! It’s a local favorite.

As one of the previous posters has said, this IS a hidden gem for those whom aren’t from Ste. Genevieve and I believe that is what makes it just that good! I have family whom live there and when we come down every august for Jour De Fête this is one of the places that we stop to get some of their delicious sausage. Today however, i went beyond that and got the pork tenderloin and some Krakow (for my father). The staff there are helpful and happy to help those whom don’t know what they want and give some fantastic suggestions when asked! You have to stop here when you pass by and get some delicious sausage, they do it right!

What can I say… Smoked pork loin sandwich is amazing!!! They do smoked meats so well, worth it at twice the price!

A hidden gem. Every time I pass through Ste. Genevieve it is a visit to this wonderful place. Always get at least 2 pounds of Oberle sausage and various amounts of their other products. All depends on the amount of room in my cooler. Take a look around and you will find lots of good stuff to take home (be sure you have a cooler). If you live in the St. Louis area be sure to stop here because whatever you get here tastes way better than the St. Louis area grocery stores sell.

This place has started a family tradition. Everytime we meet we have Oberle Dog Sausage and garlic cheese plus the ham, swiss and chedder.
If I am visiting family I try to buy as much meat here as I can to bring back to St. Louis. The meat and cheese has better flavor at a lower cost than what I can find in St. Louis. Value.
They do not have large amounts of sides or sandwiches to choose from so the rating is about the sausage, meat and cheese.
(I spent part of my high school working after school at a butcher shop and deli and they payed me minimum wage, but I still worked there because I could eat for free. Now that I see my teenage nephews eat, I do not know how they could afford me.)
