Stella’s Alterations & Bridal Salon

Stella is AMAZING! She saved me with just two weeks to go when my bolero for my wedding dress arrived and was way too small. I went to other people before being recommended to her by a bridal store. Others said it couldn’t be done, Stella fixed it overnight! I am overjoyed and she is such a lovely helpful and most of all extremely talented professional. Her fee was also reasonable. I will come here for all my needs in the future!

I am so happy with my wedding dress. I’m wearing my mom’s dress and was nervous leaving it with a stranger. Then I met Stella and I immediately trusted her. The dress needed major design changes and I wasn’t sure which direction to go with it. Stella had great ideas and implemented them perfectly. She was patient with me as we took it one phase at a time. The dress turned out beautiful. She is an amazing designer and seamstress. I can’t wait to wear it! I will post before and after pictures soon. Stella will receive all my referrals.

I would give zero stars if I could. I called earlier this week to ask if I needed a reservation to get a dress altered. Nope, just come on in. I said I would be in on Friday afternoon. Okay no problem. I show up Fri afternoon and am asked if I have an appointment. Obviously I don’t, because I was told I didn’t need one. Then I’m informed that Stella is on vacation this week. When I told the woman at the counter that I’d called to specifically ask she didn’t care. No apologies… just okay and she went back to her work. Very poor experience. Looks like Stella needs someone else to manage her shop when she’s on vacation.

I took in two pair of men’s suit slacks to be hemmed as I just moved to Tampa and had to leave for a business trip 4 days later. 4 days later, I paid $ 30 (incl. tax) to have the pants hemmed (no cuffs) and packed them without looking. When I got to my destination for business, I was mortified. The lines and stitching in the hem was so awful and so obvious if I would have packed another suit, I would have worn it; it almost looked snagged. I had to take them to my regular tailor in Chicago where I live full-​time to have both pair fixed, so it ended up costing my $ 60 to have my slacks hemmed. The woman is very nice but the work, at least for my slacks, was terrible. I wish I could post the photo I took to show you. When I am back in St. Pete and need alterations, I will try another place. Maybe great for bridal but for men’s attire, I’d go elsewhere.

This is the only place i will go and get anything altered! I bought a dress and the arm holes were a little to tight and I brought it in there and they took it out really quickly and it is very price effective! I was very impressed then but I was in there Thursday and had to get a bathing suit taken out and wanted to add elastic to the sides! And I needed it done by Sunday which is my birthday! Knowing this was last minute she told me she would do her best! I got a call noon the next day that it was ready! They are the best place to go if you need anything alter! I love them super nice ladies!

Stella is the best! The business is set up nicely. Three changing areas and a nice big area with mirrors for sizing. She is a very nice woman who knows exactly what is needed to make you feel comfortable in your clothing. Pickup was on time. Fitting was easy and smooth. She was able to balance multiple people at once with payment, phone calls, etc. without losing sight of a great customer service experience. Really would recommend this place to anyone.

Stella worked with me on a re-​design of a wedding dress I bought on-​line. It was too big but when I talked with her about the wedding and a look I had in mind, she came up with a design that blew my mind! The outcome was AMAZING! Added straps to pull up the body and accent my waist, lace up back and so much more!

Absolutely amazing. I brought in a wedding dress that I needed altered. It had a lace bodice that needed to be let out near the waist only, and since I’m 5’2″ the skirt needed to be brought up at the waist since the bottom of the dress was laced. It was THE dress and even though it didn’t quite fit when I bought it; I knew someone out there could MAKE it fit. I drove by Stella’s all the time and looked her up on the net for reviews and everyone said the same thing. She’s great. AND SHE IS. My dress turned out perfect. I brought the dress to her 3 weeks before the wedding and she had it done in plenty of time. I can’t thank her enough. She does wedding dresses, jeans, anything you have she can alter. She’s truly amazing. And she is just the sweetest woman. Give her a call, you won’t be disappointed.
