Great food, very happy we visited as a result of the great reviews found here, I had the sweet and sour duck and it was perfect! Will come back, the guests I brought also loved there meals, small, quaint and great food.

It’s always the small mom and pop spots that put out the most amazing food. I’ve never had… that I recall, had a Thai curry. Decided, instead of getting pad Thai like I always do at any Thai place, to try something different. I went with the panang curry medium spicy. So happy I chose a different entrée! Loved the creamy coconut sauce and the spice was just right for me. I had it with chicken and the veggies were zucchini, red and green bell peppers and carrots. The carrots and zucchini where cut into elegant designs. I spooned the suave over my rice and adorned it with chicken and veg. I am so in love with this dish and pissed it’s taken me so long to try something new! Service was a bit slow, but we didn’t mind since we were discussing our anniversary trip. I think it was only two people running the place a wife and her husband. So glad we came here and look forward to returning for more and exciting dishes!

I stop by Sila more often then I have checked in– it is one of my favorite Thai place’s around St. Petersburg. I generally get the same things– the make a great Som Tom, or green papaya salad, which I have not been able to find at other Thai restaurants around the area. I also usually get the Pad Thai– which is good, not the best I have ever had, but very good. The lunch specials are great, very affordable. I also like how they use Orchids as a garnish with most of their meals and drinks when you dine in. I am a big fan of calling in a take away order ahead, and just stopping by to pick up my order while driving by on my way from one place to another. The staff are fantastic and very helpful.

I really wanted to like it. Sadly I didn’t. I ordered the sampler appetizer. The shrimp tasted freezer burnt. The wontons were a mushy texture I’ve never experienced before. Ate one bite and no more. The crab Rangoon had zero crab and the cream cheese was like water(old?). The only thing edible on the dish was the fried vegetables. The soap had zero flavor. My water had white things floating in it. The pad Thai and friend rice were just ok. I definitely won’t be back.

Great Thai food. Favorite in the area and they are open«late» e.g. 10 pm which is great for me as I tend to eat dinner late. Everything is tasty. Love their curries, Tom Kha Gai soup, noodle dishes. Giant house salad with peanut dressing loaded with chicken, shrimp and veggies. They have an separate, authentic Thai menu — dishes all in Thai. Keep meaning to try something from that menu one day.

How is this place still in business?! Made the mistake of suggesting this place only because I like Thai food and we live across the street. Our evening started when we were sat and had to wait a ridiculous amount of time to even be acknowledged by the wait staff. Both waitress could barely speak English, which isn’t a big deal but if you’re in the hospitality industry then it is a concern. The food wasn’t that impressive, in fact they got my order wrong but I didn’t say anything. A member of my party was already jumping on them due to their lack of knowledge of the menu and basic customer service performance. Once we finished we all came to the agreement that we will not ever come back, or recommend this location to anyone we know. If they just step up their customer service, food, and change their décor– which looks like a cheap recreation of Mr. Han’s palace from enter the dragon– Then this place may have a chance against competitors.

They gave my food to someone else. After a few minutes they realized this and just gave it to me like nothing happen at all. They should of known, the other table had just ordered less than a minute before. My table had been given our food except for me. No tip

The first authentic Thai restaurant in the Tampa Bay area I’ve been to. If you are bored of standard American Thai fare and feeling adventurous, order off the separate Thai menu. The Guey Jub is extremely hearty and surprisingly filling. Great for takeout too; their Pad Thai is one of the best in the Bay.

We had a very mixed, carry out experience. I’ll list what we ordered and then tell what happened. –David ordered: «Seafood Clay Pot — Shrimp, squid, scallops, mussels, clear noodle, mixed vegetable in chef’s special sauce» –And I ordered «Chicken Panang Curry — With coconut milk, Panang curry, zucchini and bell pepper, Served with steamed jasmine rice» –We also ordered: «Pineapple Fried Rice — Chicken, shrimp, pineapple chunks, raisins, egg, onion and scallion with curry powder» and -«Tom Kha Gai soup — Flavored with galangal, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, lime juice and mushroom» — — — — — — — — — — — — - First the good. then the worst Dave’s Seafood Clay Pot was fanTAStic! Lots of seafood, well prepared, delicious sauce. etc etc. The soup was some of the best Tom Kha Gai I’ve ever had — delicious with lots of mushrooms and also… chicken which is not on the list of expected things. Would have been a bummer if I was not a meat eater. The Pineapple Rice tasted good in a fairly oily fried rice kind of way — but the pineapple was canned. We ordered it without cashews and stressed«allergy» which they SEEMED to understand — but the cashews were there anyway.(cashews are not listed among the ingredients, but one asks at a Thai place) My Panang curry was TERRIBLE. A huge mound of noodles tossed in an undistinguished-flavored-sort-of-something that was only enough to tint the noodles yellow. There were two pieces of chicken and no vegetables at all. It’s possible that what we came home with was not even their Panang Curry — since this was not supposed to even BE a noodle dish. However, I checked today and their menu doesn’t even have a noodle dish that sounds like what we were served. All of them at least have *some* veggies.(unless it’s on their traditional Thai menu — which I cannot read) Also — their carryout is served in Styrofoam. We rarely get carryout anymore and I had forgotten what a drag it is when hot food is put into those and picks up the taste of the foam… which probably means you’re eating something highly toxic… Because they were REAAALLLY nice to Dave when he called like 3 times during the day to ask questions and realllly nice when he picked-up our order, and because his food was SO good, and because Dave had seen great reviews — I guess we’ll go there and eat in person one time. Maybe. He wants to anyway. We’ll see.

Fast, tasty, and large Thai menu with American style Thai and traditional Thai selections. They even have an early bird special, between 4pm and 6pm diners get a spring roll and soup with their entrée. Dine-In only.

Finally, a place that serves frog legs! I don’t go to St Pete often, but when I do, I like to try new restaurants. Sila Thai was bookmarked, and it has some great reviews! I couldn’t say no. We started with some Tod Mon Shrimp, and Gyoza. Gyoza is usually browned, but ours were not. The Tod Mon was really good. My main dish was frog legs. I thought they were a tad over cooked and had too much sauce, but still delicious. My favorite part of the meal was the Bahmee Gyo Red Pork(Moo Dang). There’s a couple of things preventing this place from getting a four star rating. First and foremost, the price of the menu items. It’s a little on the high side, but doesn’t deliver anything extraordinary compared to lower priced restaurants. Two, they need to hire some help. I ran out of drink half way through the meal, and didn’t get a chance to wave down our server(/owner?). Overall, I thought it was a good restaurant. I’d go back if I was in the area and hankering for Thai.

Sila Thai can do no wrong. I eat spicy food often and adore it, but at Sila Thai, I cannot even handle the«medium» spice level. There must be something wrong with me. It is such a treat to be handed a regular menu and also an authentic menu. If I do not like my dish, it is my fault, not theirs. I have just never had Thai food this authentic before, so I have been trying many different dishes. Pardon my ignorance. Since moving to St Pete, you will find me here almost every weekend trying someone new. Their sticky rice is so addictive, moist and chewy, the perfect consistency. Their Papaya Salad is the best I have ever had; loaded with crushed peanuts and lime. Just heaven. My second favorite dish is their Khaow Klug Kapi; shrimp paste fried rice platter with shredded mango, side of meat, and eggs. I hope to find many other dishes to love in the future. When the owner is there, the service is excellent. She is always wearing a cute headband in the stripes of the Thai flag. Since the seating area is small and open, you can hear everyone’s conversation. Sometimes there are really annoying customers, like this really loud drunk guy that was there last time… All of their desserts are rich and refreshing at the same time, mostly coconut based homemade ice creams. Right now, it is mango season, so I just have to order the sticky rice with mango. I have never been such a fan of Thai food before trying Sila Thai.

I was excited to try this after reading such rave reviews on this restaurant. I joined family and a friend at 11:45 this morning for an early lunch. Upon walking in, the place is very small and we were seated in the back. Tables aren’t spread out so my chair was literally next to the table behind us. Chairs need padding on the feet— they’re very loud and scrape against the floor making an unpleasant sound. After roughly 8 minutes, we were greeted by a server who appeared to be the only one working. Took our drink and lunch orders– returned with soup that was piping hot and a plate of spring rolls. The first of 4 dishes was served to our table, followed by the second 5 minutes later, the third and ten minutes later the forth. I ordered pad Thai which I thought was lukewarm and lacked flavor. My daughter had fried rice which wasn’t hot and the others agreed their plates weren’t hot nor full of flavor. I had to ask twice for a box and was ready to just leave the extras there. We only saw one server for the whole place which was full by the time we left. I wouldn’t give this place a second chance due to flavor and service– Chiang Mai downtown has my vote on best Thai in the area!

Felt the need to update my review as I am craving their papaya salad! Some of the best I’ve had so far in the area. So flavorful with just right amount of heat(I’m a wuss, I ask for mild). Ask for their authentic Thai menu– So many delicious dishes not on typical Thai menus you find at most other restaurants. Shrimp paste fried rice is amazing! The pork and sausage over rice with that sauce is savory and filling. Their chicken and papaya salad combo is perfect and always my go to. Service is always amazing. Food is excellent. I’m hooked!

Okay, first disclaimer: I am Thai. First generation, fluent speaker, frequent visitor of the motherland, and raised by parents who owned Thai restaurants. I know Thai food. This is where I go when I’m homesick. The place isn’t the most posh or modern, the lighting is a little fluorescent. But the food, the food is delicious. This is as authentic as you’ll get absent a trip to Thailand. Ask for that Thai menu. You’ll see things you won’t see at any other Thai restaurant. Yen ta 4, succulent noodles with a flavorful seafood broth topped with a crispy wonton is one of my favorites. They even have kao kook kapei, shrimp paste fried rice with caramelized pork, mango, egg, an incredibly intricate and true to Thai dish. If you want crab rangoons and sugar laden pre-made curry with canned pineapple chunks, go somewhere else. If you want real authentic Thai food go here.

The best Thai restaurant in the Tampa Bay Area. Why bother with the rest when you have the best? I almost always get the Tom Yum Khaa Moo(hamhock hot and sour noodle soup). Other favorites include the duck salad, yum woonsen, and papaya salad. I’ve sampled dishes that my family and friends have ordered, sorry for lack of specifics but please trust me that everything and anything from here is 100% authentic and not often found at other Thai restaurants in the area.
