Found this place by accident but so happy we did! Loved the chocolate, white chocolate butterscotch was my favorite! And the young lady working the counter was very friendly and helpful. Little chocolate shops tend to be expensive in my opinion but this one is very reasonable for the quality you receive. Great find in St. Pete!

Sweet treats at good prices. If you want the tour, you need to go to the location in Tampa. Bring change, Meyer parking

Walked into this cute little chocolate shop after eating at a restaurant down the street. And it was a pleasant surprise. I was still full from lunch so I only got a piece of dark chocolate covered salted caramel but it was absolutely divine! See’s, Ghirardelli, and even Godiva have nothing on this place. You won’t be disappointed… guaranteed.

WOW! This place has really good chocolates! Their chocolates are so cute looking and taste so darn good! There are a gazillion kinds of choose from, but my latest cravings are the Salted Caramel. Of course, these premium chocolates aren’t cheap so be prepare to spend some money. The store is small and clean with a couple of high tops. Aside from chocolates, espresso drinks are also served.

Best chocolate place in town. She loves the chocolate and the ladies that work in there are incredibly helpful and friendly. I have gotten chocolates from all the places down town and she says this one is hands down the best quality and taste. She says the rest taste mass-produced and fake. It is also worth mentioning that its a few bucks cheaper than the other places too. You can’t beat it.

This place has the perfect gift for almost every occasion, but I usually stop in when I just need a chocolate fix. The owners are so incredibly nice, and the store smells wonderful with all the coffee and chocolate. Full coffee bar! There are a couple tables inside, and you can watch the two owners bustle about, making this and that, or just people watch out the window to the downtown SP scene. Each weekday, they have something seasonal/fresh as a special: frozen chocolate bananas, chocolate covered strawberries or marshmallows, etc. Both the chocolate covered espresso beans and the chocolate-cayenne pepper chips are very good. They’re both pre-packaged in small($ 5) and large($ 7.50) containers. My all-time favorites are the raspberry chocolate ganache, the butter crème, and the rocky road cluster. This is the place to take a luxurious yet inexpensive break on a stressful day; get a latte and a piece of handmade chocolate for a few bucks, and suddenly all is right with the world…

I have been going to Schakolad for years and I love their chocolate! It is always fresh, and they keep pretty much everything in stock. Yes each truffle costs more than $ 1 but they are delicious– the quality is unmatched by anything you buy in a store, and they have delicous flavors– chocolate and butterscotch, key lime pie, raspberry ganache, and many more I can’t think of. The chocolate covered Oreo is heaven! The owner is usually on site, and everyone there is kind, but won’t chit-chat your ear off(which is what I like). Every time I meet someone new to the area, I always recommend they visit Schakolad!

This place is AHHHMAZING! One of St. Pete’s gems. You are welcomed with the most amazing smell. I can only imagine that this is what Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory smells like. A mixture of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and mint chocolate. They offer some incredible hot chocolate, along with some delicious coffee and latte combinations. Prices are reasonable(keep in mind you aren’t buying a Hershey’s bar at 7 – 11), employees are knowledgable and helpful, and of course, the chocolate is pretty scrumptious. We love taking the kids here as a treat when we’re in town. We’ve had the white chocolate, dark chocolate, and mint chocolate, in various forms. Chocolate covered Oreos… OMG. Our favorite is the chili(cayenne?) chocolate. The right combination of spicy and sweet. Love it! And they even have gift baskets so you can share the love. :) Definitely check this place out!

I wanted so much to like this place. Two small chocolates cost $ 4.20 ! I should’ve challenged but thought maybe it’s awesome and worth the price. Hmmm, standard choc shop fare. Nothing special.

I am always in the mood for good chocolate and this place definitely hits the spot. The selection is top-notch and hand crafted. The variety of confections is really astounding and can have you gazing for what seems eternity. It’s really difficulty to walk away with just a little bit because it is all so delectable. I love the chocolate with spice mixed in!

There are soooo many decadent selections to choose from here. It’s extremely easy to enter that chocolate coma. I honestly like most anything chocolate, but I’m especially fond of salty and sweet so chocolate covered pretzels and salted caramel really get my vote. The staff here is patient and knowledgable which makes the task of choosing less stressful.

St. Petersburg has been on a roll with me lately. The places I’ve been too over the past week or so have all been amazing and Schakolad is no exception. This place is a chocolate lover’s dream. The extremely friendly staff took time to run me through their selection and even offer some tastings. The dark chocolate with cayenne is so interesting and delicious. The coffee is excellent too. I would recommend that anyone eating lunch or dinner, in downtown St. Pete, to swing by afterwards and try a few things.

Dropped in for the first time on a 49 degree day with the intent of having a hot chocolate since I’ve read and heard so much about it. Ooooo – it was SOGOOD! The Real Thing! No cocoa mix here! Rich and milky and chocolatey! It wasn’t too rich or sweet or anything. My only gripe is that it could have been a tough hotter. There are 2 or 3 tall small round tables with tall chairs inside. The smell of chocolate is sooo intoxicating and you can watch them mix chocolates in a vat inside the store. Staff was friendly. Prices were reasonable – were on the end of a higher priced coffee shop for hot chocolate but overall reasonable. I even bought a couple of pieces of Sugar Free White Chocolate with nuts because they were staring me in the face. :) I’ve tried sugar free chocolates many times over my 20 years with diabetes and pretty much across the board, sugar free chocolates taste icky and unnatural. Shakolad’s sugar free chocolates taste like chocolate! Great job Shakolad!

My family and I stumbled upon this little gem on a recent saturday while strolling through St. Pete. We arrived just a few minutes before they were to close so had to choose quickly. Its a very small place and was packed with other guests when we arrived. We each tried a few truffles and looked at some of the neat gift sets that they have. I had a butterscotch/milk chocolate truffle, yum! I thought the gift boxes with personalized script for anniversaries, birthdays, etc was a really neat idea. The owner was friendly and told us that all the chocolate is made in house except for the sugar free selection, which I found to be impressive. It’s nice that they offer sugar free options for diabetics or those on a strict diet so anyone could find something tasty here. They also offer espresso and other coffee drinks as well to go along with the sweets. This is a really neat little spot and I’d definitely stop in again for a little sweet treat.

I admit to not visiting a whole lot of chocolatiers outside of Kilwin’s or similar places found at tourist destinations, but Schakolad is very good. We stopped in after dinner nearby and just grabbed a few assorted treats, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The prices are decent, the selection is huge, and they have quite a few novel gifts you can buy for any special occasion. Definitely worth stopping in and checking out when you’re in the area.

A family owned chocolate or «schakolad» factory. The chocolate was delicious. They had so many choices and best part you can mix and match and get exactly what you want. Will be going here again. Red velvet!!! Yum!

I am not an expert on chocolate, though I am well trained in eating it. This place is a chocolate lovers dream. You name it, they have it. I went here because I needed a unique(edible) gift, and boy did I find what I needed. They have truffle selections in all sizes, so I picked the medium assortment and let her mix it up(they have WAY too many for me to try and decide on my own). They also have«themed» chocolate gifts for graduations, etc. The service was beyond exceptional… super friendly, ultra helpful, and very nice. The gift boxes are very elegant looking, just the ticket. The chocolate is just pure goodness, super delectable. The prices seem right for the quality, it was around 15 bucks for the 15-piece gift box… It is a chain apparently(my interwebs search shows about 30 other stores over the Southeast). Top qual for a chain though… impressive.

This is THE place to go for chocolate. However, if you’re on the chocolate binge but your bank account is low, don’t go here. Go get a few bars of Dove chocolate instead. I’m not a chocolateur or a chocoholic but I know the difference between a Ghirardelli and a Ghirardelli Natural. If you’re looking to treat for yourself, or someone you care about, go here. If you can’t think of a gift to get, go here. A wine bottle of your choice covered in chocolate and a couple of glasses with chocolate lining and filled with chocolate pieces? A tea set in chocolate? A chocolate high-heel shoe filled with chocolate pieces? If there’s room on piece, they’ll personalize it for you with chocolate. :-) This is a franchise but you couldn’t tell when you’re there. The location, the décor, the people, and the service all make you feel like you’re inside a mom-and-pop place.
