Wow! What a wonderful place for dinner… Directly on the beach the beach and was 5 stars with sand just feet from my sandals! I had the stuffed shrimp and trust me when I say it was Perfect! Very busy but take that as a great sign! Service was great and staff was very friendly!

The best deal on the beach for the best sandwiches. I have had two hamburgers and a chicken sandwich in the last three days. Plus a gin and tonic and a couple piña colada’s. Honest sandwiches and honest drinks, which are hard to find on the beach. And this place is actually ON the beach.

Used to be our go to burger/beach bar — but I think they have gone away from the handmade burgers we liked so much in favor of the frozen patty type. Please bring back the old juicer burgers! Still — a nice setting for $ 3 draft beers and $ 4 for bottles. Newer tables added are nice touch.

I come here frequently because I’m at the beach frequently. ;0) Usually service is excellent. Today my husband and I had the displeasure of being non-serviced by Jen. We walk up and say we’re ready to order because like I said we come here frequently and know what we want. JEN promptly proceeded to serve other people who came AFTER us instead of taking our order. The other«people» were guys who were smiley with her so maybe a prospective date was more important than customer service today. We left without ordering because there are far too many other places on the beach to eat where we receive PROPER service. MANAGEMENT! JENNEEDSTOBERETRAINEDONCUSTOMERSKILLS!!!

Sandbar Bill’s is the best little hotel bar on the beach! The food is delicious, the bartenders are helpful and the service is always great — even when things get busy during the lunch time rush. For a hotel-run beach bar, the menu offers a really great variety of items from pizzas and kabobs to wraps and deli sandwiches. Most of the menu items can easily be shared by two people, and the prices are very reasonable. Best of all, they have a GREAT drink menu! The bar is the perfect location to relax, grab a quick bite, enjoy a drink or watch the sunset — right next to the hotel pool and just steps away from the beach.

Excellent beachside burgers and drinks! Margaritas are some of the best in town. The burgers are fresh patties and you can put your own condiments on them. The buns are also fresh and the prices are reasonable, around $ 6. You can walk right up to the bar from the beach and the atmosphere is extremely casual. Lots of deck space and they have shuffleboard. My only complaint is that it’s hard to order food if they’re busy — you have to order from the bar and there’s no designated spot, so you just have to crowd around other people sitting at the bar. Great place to hang out and watch the sunset!

This is a great place right on the beach. Drinks are strong, perfectly made and staff is very attentive and friendly, even though they’ve been slammed every time I’ve been there. I had food here once. Ordered a burger and it was decent. Not amazing, but definitely above average. I’ve heard their other selections are pretty amazing, and I don’t doubt that because I’ve dish I’ve seen looks pretty damn good. But if you want to have some great drinks and watch some amazing sunsets, this is the place to go. Just know that parking can be a total pain.

Love the hotel, love the burgers. But the the rum runners taste like cherry NyQuil. Bongos is much better.

Great little hideaway place on the beach for what tastes like a backyard burger. Watch that first sip with their Rumrunners… it’s a doozy!

I live in the area and for my taste Sandbar Bill’s has the best cheeseburger around. The atmosphere is relaxing and the other menu items are also excellent.

Ordered a coke, cheeseburger and veggie nacho supreme with salsa to share with my family. The bill was just shy of $ 20, the burger wasn’t anything spectacular; seemed like more bun than anything else. The nachos were decent– spare yourself of their«salsa» poured from a jar for an extra $ 1. You have to make your way to the bar to even place an order, then pick up food from another side of the bar. I honestly wasn’t impressed with their small selection of a menu— sandwiches and wraps were $ 7 – 10, burgers were $ 6 – 7, mini pizzas were $ 6 – 7, etc. Skip this beach bar«restaurant» and walk across the street to Gigi’s for a real meal.

If Sandbar Bills wasn’t on the beach with a lot of seating, it would be pretty run of the mill due to the food/drink ordering process, but it’s hard to not enjoy yourself when you hear the water, feel the breeze and watch a beautiful sunset, so we’ll call it a solid A-OK type place. It definitely has the widest open area touching the beach for a St Pete Beach beach bar, so everyone gets a great sunset view. The burger is probably the best thing on the menu, and while it’s pretty good, there are two much better burgers less than five minutes away; Boulevard Burger & Tap House, and of course, Willy’s Burgers & Booze. Neither of those are on the beach though, so if you want the complete package, Sandbar Bills is the better choice. Their burgers are only available medium or higher; no rare or medium rare. There is a little choice in the way of toppings; such as sauteed onions, mushrooms or jalapenos for an up-charge of 50 cents per topping, The buns are run of the mill burger joint buns. All burgers include lettuce, tomato and onion. There will be a pickle on the side so if you’re an anti-pickle person, ask for it to be left off. Their drinks are priced fairly for a beach bar, and they do have full liquor as well as frozen drinks. The food is pretty reasonable as well. I’d say the margarita is the best drink on the menu, but some prefer rum runners and tell me as far as rum runners go, this place has a good one. There’s no parking for this restaurant as it’s tied to a hotel(Bön-Aire) where parking is only for hotel guests. The kitchen closes at 8pm so no food orders after that. My biggest complaint, which is what gets it three stars as opposed to more, is simply the ordering process. All orders go through the bar, and the bar has seating around all the sides with a small space cordoned off to let people who’s name has been called(or buzzer gone off) to come pick up their food. You cannot order from that spot though, so you have to push your way through someone seated at the bar to get your order in and pick up your buzzer. Same goes for drink refills. The staff are very friendly so never have had a complaint there. There are always lots of locals hanging out, so that makes for some great conversations as well.

Horrible service, but one of the better burgers I’ve ever had. Not some place I’m going to seek out again, but would had the it not taken over 20 minutes to order and another 20 minutes to get my beer and food.

This tiny bar and grill seemed to be very popular one particular Thursday afternoon. It’s located on the beachside of the Bön Aire Motel so you won’t see it from the main boulevard. We parked in front of the motel and nobody said anything about our car. OMG their salads are ginormous! I’m talking really really big. Our party also got some hotdogs and hamburgers and everyone was happy with their meal. You can sit either at the bar or at the round tables with umbrellas. Beachwear is fine because it’s located right on the beach.

One of the things I look forward to on my annual visits to St. Pete is spending time at Sandbar Bill’s, located on the beach side of the Bön-Aire Resort Motel. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, the food is outstanding(try the burgers!) as are the drinks, and the staff are quick with their service and their smiles. It’s also a great spot for kicking back to enjoy a beautiful sunset. Can’t wait for my next visit there!

The burgers are pretty good and cheap. They only have basic toppings but they are thick burgers. They won’t let you order them medium rare so you have to go with medium or above. They don’t come with anything. They don’t have french fries but you can pay extra for chips. They stop serving food at 8pm. It’s a nice spot though on the beach to watch the sunset. They have tables and bar seating. There is one small tv over the bar. It’s also a kid friendly place with plenty of room for a stroller. I don’t recall there being a changing table though.

This is my favorite place in the whole world and I am not joking. My family lives walking distance to this beach and coming here has been a tradition for many years. The sunsets here are one of a kind. The burgers are so so so good and there is just something about them that makes them more special than any other burger I have ever had. Maybe it’s the view and the sand between my toes? ;) The staff can be a little rude but I think that’s because they have to deal with difficult tourists all day and it can get pretty busy. I will love you forever diamond in the rough on one of my most favorites beaches in MERIKA!

Very cute little spot, right on the sand… Not sure if you have to be a visitor of the hotel or it’s open to the public, so we just didn’t ask :) had to try the rum runner because of the other reviews, very yummy

They still have the best cheeseburgers, hands down! Their turkey club and hobo joe sandwiches(or wraps) are also amazing. Heaping portions of turkey and ham. The fajita wraps are phenomenal — but enormous. Tons of chicken, onions, and peppers. Plus they give you a plate full of lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream to add to the wraps. The nachos are also a heaping, enormous portion. Completely covered in cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. The only thing it needs is ground beef! The cajun chicken sandwich is as big as my face and packs a punch. It left my lips tingling for an hour after I ate it. Definitely having that again sometime. Try the rum runner — you will not be disappointed. It is strong and it is tasty. The food is amazing and has not changed over the years. I can never get enough of their burgers and hot dogs!
