Donut Connection

This place has shut down. It’s now being remodeled and will reopen soon as Fray’s Donut House. Not surprised as it wasn’t doing much business.

The Donut Connection may look a little questionable from the outside, but it is worth the trip through the door. The second you get out of your car you are hit by a scent wave of fatty goodness. Their donuts actually taste as good as they smell too! I have visited the Donut Connection twice now and it makes me never want to visit Dunkin Donuts again. The donuts are fresh and delicious. The service is good and fast. While it may hurt your waistline, The Donut Connection will give you the best donuts that I have tried in St. Pete.

God if this place was between me and work I’d be in soooo much trouble. The doughnuts are fresh and good, the service is fast and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. The coffee is a little weak so 4 stars instead of 5 but GO get your doughnut on it’s awesome.

Their maple glazed doughnuts are so good… very fluffy and moist! My husband likes the dutch apple doughnuts… it is like apple cobbler. Unfortunately I did not like their cake-​type doughnuts since they were dry and hard. So try their crème filling types and regular glazed or sprinkled types.
And 3−5pm they do Buy One Get One Free Donuts! A dozen of very fresh and tasty donuts at $ 5 and change.
I can easily have 3 doughnuts since they are so yummy! I go to this place everytime I am in the area.

I felt like I was breaking up a family dinner just to ‘steal’ some normal donuts.
Although the staff wore huge smiles and might as well have been asking me to have some southern Sunday brunch, the patrons made me feel like I had interrupted a religious gathering. The older guys were scattered in the small, diner-​like area. They lifted their heads from the counter as I entered. Silence.
Then I should’ve expected that when mixing older people, newspapers, and breakfast.
Any donuts I’ve eaten are typical. Definitely better than the Dunkin’ Donuts that boldly set up across the street. If only I was part of that seemingly tight-​knit cult of Donut Connection. Yummy– but I wouldn’t run over any kindergarteners blocking my way to the store if I was starving. I recommend the maple one– after a few hours, the maple frosting was melting and spilled out a sugary aroma.

With major corporate Dunkin Donuts across the street, my friends decision to go to Donut Connection was based on «well we can’t get Donut Connection in South Florida» — and he was right, and it was one of the best decisions of the trip!
This mom and pop donut shop is THE SHIIT. Super intimate, everythings fresh, lots of heart and soul. One of the owners made my ham-​egg-​cheese crossaint, and then we got gourmet donuts that WERE SO BANGIN.
Get the «Dutch Apple Pie Yum Yum» donut if’ it’s not sold out. You’re welcome.
