This place is a just a bit off the main part of Central Ave but well worth hitting. Nice blend of simple well made food and cool art. The balance is great. As a bonus you get to check out some nice architecture from a restored Craftsman house. The big porch is great to eat on!

The food was delicious. I loved eating in the little outdoor garden. The art was gorgeous. I love that this venue opens the door to support local artists and fill your belly. Such a cute day date spot. Very quite as well.

This is a unique destination that needs to be visited. The building is actually the original model craftsman home for the Kenwood neighborhood! Even if you aren’t hungry, it’s definitely worth seeing. Better yet, order some fresh sandwiches, perhaps some soup, and delicious coffee beverages and relax on the porch of a wonderfully restored historic craftsman! When you are sated, you can wander through the gallery rooms. Everything is for sale and they have local arts and crafts ready for purchase!

Great sandwiches and coffee, very calm atmosphere for lunch during the day. The gallery is beautiful as well. I had the pumpkin pie latte on my first visit and it was much more tasty and affordable than Starbucks. The turkey sandwich is amazing and the sides are different each day. I’ve had the pea salad and pasta salad– both delicious. It’s close to my job so I can walk over on a nice day.

Great gallery, great coffee, and a nice affordable place to stay in Saint Petersburg. The location is perfect for exploring the beach, breweries, and art galleries around Saint Petersburg. The studio style room above the gallery is clean and charming.

Cool selection of local art; the blown glass was particularly nice and affordably priced. Greatly enjoyed the décor, history, and architecture of the building. Will definitely be back to sample some items from the café.

I really like the concept of the Craftsman House. The pieces they sell are really well-curated and show a wide variety of both artists and works. They had a teapot exhibit which featured affordable, unique pieces when I was there recently. Other things that you can find here are unusual handmade jewelry, pottery, fancy scarves, decorative things… If you have some extra bucks to spend on handmade, this is the place to check out. They also have a small café where you can get coffee and tea along with some sandwiches and pastries. They have a deal where you get free coffee if you buy one of the mugs there, so that’s pretty nice. And, as a totally random side note, they take bitcoin. The barista said she’s never had to process it, and hope she doesn’t have to.

This gallery and café was recommended to my husband and I for lunch when we were visiting a glass gallery nearby. We were very happy that we listened to a local’s recommendation. She was spot on. I loved this unique place to grab a bite for lunch. The gallery is filled with many wonderful crafts from pottery to jewelry to glass. We walked around and bought a piece of blown glass and also a piece of pottery for my garden. The food offerings at the café were from salads to sandwiches to pasta and all homemade. My ice tea was served in a handmade pottery cup and our sandwiches on handmade pottery plates. The young man in the café was so friendly and sweet. He brought our lunch to us out in the front porch. I hand a delicious BLT on a toasted croissant with chips. My husband had the Dr Pepper pulled pork sandwich and potato salad which he devoured. This little café really has great food served in a cute atmosphere. You can enjoy lunch in the yard, on the front porch or in the sun room and shop the gallery while you wait for your food to be served. Great place!

What a fun and different place to eat a healthy lunch. Handmade one of a kind art is everyehere, and the menu for breakfast and lunch has a nice variety and was very tasty. Will be back for sure.

I had a half bowl of curried carrot soup(they don’t have a cup size portion so she gave me half a bowl for a reduced price), and the Dr. Pepper pulled pork sandwich as a wrap. Plus a locally made coconut water lemonade. The meal was delicious and came out to less than $ 15! The setting is peaceful as it is set back off the road a little and is nicely shaded. A great value for a laid back lunch.

The Craftsman House is a great showcase for local arts and crafts: pottery, glass, jewelry, woodworking, handmade soaps, décor made from upcycled objects, etc. Their inventory is well curated, so the quality is high. In addition, the gallery includes a café with indoor and outdoor seating. Their tea and coffee is just okay, but they have some nice sandwiches, wraps and salads; so they are definitely a decent, casual place to eat when you are shopping along Central Ave; you can go antiquing nearby, come here to browse some of the local arts and crafts, then kick back and relax with a mimosa and some light food.

Just went here for the first time to listen to Seth Glier. What a great venue for a great concert! We didn’t eat here but the food coming out looked great! Looking forward to coming back for lunch and to check out the arts and crafts and of course for other concerts.

Craftsman House is at 2955 Central Ave St Petersburg, FL33713 (727) 323‑2787. We hadn’t been there in awhile and sadly it’ll be our last. Since this establishment is out of the art district you actually have to seek it out. So very sad to see the decline of this gorgeous craftsman cottage. What used to be little rot areas now reflect parts of the roof decaying. The courtyard is unkempt. I suppose they have little money to maintain the properly but now it’s at a critical point. When I inquired with the«owner» he surprisingly said«do you want to pay for it?», Even with that attitude we decided to have lunch in the little courtyard. Although we knew there were no customers there we still chanced it. My Caesar salad had poached chicken instead of grilled and it tasted of some days old. The lettuce was crisp but the croutons could attract deer. They were like salt licks! I ate the lettuce. One of my guests had a green apple salad and it was OK. Another guest had a hummus wrap and it too was OK. The crafts inside the bungalow are wondrous so perhaps it is worth the trip to see the great display of handcrafted goods from pottery to woodwork to leather goods all beautifully displayed in this glorious interior of the Craftsman House.

You’ve got basic good eats made fresh and by hand You’ve got artwork that represents over 300 artists in a cool 1918 craftsman style home You’ve got in house crafters working in the pottery studio and gallery You’ve got frequent concerts and public events You’ve got a really nice local indie business What a nice place you have here and I recommend people get down to central avenue and take a look for themselves :) for my full blog props:

love this gallery! Just off Central Ave sits this cool Historic Florida house, but step inside and it is so much more. They have several artists that are showing their work at once. They are great partners in the community — they took part in Creative Clay FolkFest, had an artist do live clay work at The Vinoy and support local artists. I attended as part of a gallery walk /wine tasting. They have a café, but I did not enjoy it this time around. .. I will be back soon to indulge soon.

Craftsman is equal parts café, museum, gift shop and clay studio rolled into one. I would highly recommend bringing out-of-town visitors because of the diversity of the venue. The house itself is built in Old Historic Kenwood fashion and offers seating on its spacious front patio or among the flowers in the side garden next to the potter shed(where my mom and I enjoyed our latest lunch). Eating inside is also great because you can sit within viewing distance of the rotating art displays(the annual teapot showcase my fav). The lunch menu features many creative sandwiches with fresh ingredients from local vendors served on hand-thrown ceramic plates. Fair trade coffee and whole leaf teas served in matching handcrafted mugs. After eating, I take my time strolling through the art and gifts strategically fixed among the winding rooms of the house, there is always something really beautiful to see or buy. The staff is very friendly and willing to chat about food, the arts, and the city of St. Pete. A great stop to witness how St. Pete shines in so many different ways.

Great coffee and I had a tough decision whether to sip on the porch or on the sun room on the side with the glass balls. Either is a perfect place to relax!
