Bill made it all worthwhile. I’m not really into kava, but they have a really good mocha frapp. They throw a lot of good events and they even have drag nights. I really enjoy the location and the people. Thank you Bill for always helping everyone have a really fun time.

I checked out Bula Kafe for the first time yesterday with my daughter. We had first gone to a different place not to far from Bula Kafe that was not as welcoming and didn’t explain anything. All they did was stare at us and make us feel super uncomfortable. NOT at Bula though. Kelsey behind the bar was awesome :) She explained stuff to me and recommended which Kratom’s were the best for certain things. I really appreciated it! Thanks Kelsey you rock and I will be coming back there again… maybe even today! :)

A really relaxing gathering place. Many specialty teas for the sophisticated connoisseur. Bill explained the benefits of each tea as nose enjoyed the bouquet of different aromas. Bill educated us on the proper kava experience plus described the many offerings & the benefits of each. A tiki bar setting with casual seating indoors & out. Mans best friend is welcome here.

You always feel welcome here. Everyone is really nice and friendly. I only wish I go there more often. There’s specials every day on kava and kratom. All the kavatenders always have a smile on their face ready to serve you. Great music, vibe, and people. Definitely my favorite kava bar in the area.

Island-​style #kava & #kratom bar designed for hanging out with friends (if you didn’t come with any, you’ll meet some there). Great natural alternative to alcohol bars, but with plant-​based relaxation-​inducing concoctions. Green kratom is great for euphoria; red for relaxation/​pain relief; white for energy. Create mixtures as needed. Add syrup (strawberry is my fav) to downplay «earthy» notes. Get a growler if you find yourself coming often (way better deal in the long run). Discounts on Mondays for «Industry» (restaurants, bars, etc.) folks & Thursdays during Komedy nights. Check in on Unilocal for free Everyday kava shell. Ken, Bill & the whole staff are awesome people. BULA!

This is the best coffee in the Junction and one of the best in the city of Saint Petersburg. The service is excellent, and the food is really good as well. They take great care in making each coffee. The flavour is smooth and full. The place is generally crowded, a testament to how good the coffee is. On weekend mornings, expect line-​ups. Lots of folks come here and work on their laptops using the wifi. In the summer, there is a sunny patio on the side to take time to enjoy your coffee.

This absolutely the place to go to chill amongst friends you’ve never met! The Kava is great! KEN, Jamie, Bill, Becky, Kay, lance and the whole Bula tribe make you feel muddy!!! Love this place!!!

This place is amazing !!! It’s more than a home away from home but a world and community of its own. It reminds me of the blind melon song «no rain» or the intro song to the show «Cheers». If you’re a «good-​natured ««no drama» person this place is for you. This is my local hang out for just over a month but it feels like I’ve been here my entire life. BULA !!!

Went there for the first time after driving by it many times. So I looked it up on Unilocal and saw they offer something I’ve never heard of before called kava! The people there are nice and chill and the workers there gladly explained to me what kava is! I will be back for sure

Great place for a late night shell of kava or ethnobotanical teas and kratom. Nice outdoor vibe. Friendly people and pet friendly! They have daily specials like $ 1 off double tea on Mondays! Check in on Unilocal for your free shell of Everyday Kava. Check for live comedy nights too. Excellent alternative to bars in St. Pete.

My two stops at Bula were kind of inconsistent, but it might be because I’m not their main clientele (i.e. I went for coffee and not kava). The first time was in the afternoon and I had to have someone meet us inside. The friend I was with was turned off by the large dog that was hanging out inside off leash. I ordered my drink and shuffled out not thrilled with customer service, but happy with my latte. The second time was an evening and after standing around inside for a few minutes, someone said they would be with us and never showed up again. We ended up leaving and ventured to Pom Pom’s for a pot of tea instead.
The environment is definitely chill here. The only seating is outdoors, either at a bar or in their little lounge. I wanted to love it, but I’m just sort of… Apathetic. My first time was probably a 3.5, and my second time was a 1, so it averages out to a 2 for me. Again, that’s for coffee, not kava, so your mileage may vary.

Very fun place! The staff was charming and relaxed which is nice. Seemed very playful. Upon my arrival the owner gave me a kava shell on the house. Never had real kava tea. It was nice and immediately helped me feel relaxed. I enjoyed a cappucino that was delishus. I met a few patrons that seemed very cool. All and all it was nice to sit there and get some work done while I was there. I look forward to returning at some point. Also the bathroom was gorgous and elegant!

I feel relaxed indeed after gulping 5 shells of kava bottoms up every time. I feel sleepy almost. Good thing my wife is driving. I can feel my shoulders loosening up and I can breathe deeeply. More like, i have to. My colds started dripping my nose and had to go to the bathroom. Kava must have an expectorant properties. Caveat: I felt like puking because of the bitter aftertaste. I was praying that i could burp.
The coffee was a good chaser but it is not that strong. Well, not to my preference. So the half and half creamer drowned the watery coffee taste.
I am having trouble typing this review on my phone as my eyelids tend to close up. So yeah, i feel relaxed. Yes, sorry, I did say that already. 30 mins out and the kava’s effect has not worn out. Please, Lord, let me burp and make me feel better already. HuZZah!
Felt better after 2 hours and a half hour of sleep and a couple of burps. :)

Went there once and had a free shell. Pretty vile stuff. It was high-​five Friday, and though my feeling about those is akin to Seinfeld’s, I couldn’t refuse the cute & personable barista, so gave her one and got another free shell. Then I had regular coffee.
Now, they all assured me the effects don’t come until the body builds a tolerance, and I’m not one to exaggerate, but damn, I felt really funny. Lax and drunkish, just as they described. Not for me, but I understand the hype.
Oh yea, it isn’t related to coffee. It’s in the Piper genus, ie. pepper.

Bula Kafe has become my home away from home here in St Pete. Having rediscovered kava and it’s awesome affect on my my mental health, a nice chill kava bar where the tenders are cool and the patrons are peaceful was just what I needed. This is my favorite of the main three kava bars in the area. There kava is the strongest and prices are reasonable. They also serve up kratom and other botanical teas, coffee and flavored drinks, etc… Their outside bar is where it’s at though with couches to lounge in on both sides of the bar and a pool table if your so inclined. Come check out the healing power of kava and leave your stress at the door. This place will change you! Bula!
