Genis’tailor

Genii does excellent, painstakingly accurate work. I have taken clothes to her for years. For those who call her rude, please don’t. She has never been so with me. Perhaps she is going through a hard time and could use some kindness.

The lady who runs this business is extremely rude. I asked to speak to the owner and she said she was the owner, I actually laughed out loud.
I came in to see if she can shorten a dress from the bottom, simple request. She quoted me a price and since this was my first tailor I had stopped by, I wanted to visit a few others to see if I could possibly get a lower price.
But first off, I came in (she runs this business from the basement of her home) and she completely ignored me and her dog keep barking and growling at me. This was NOT a small dog, but I would say a good sized dog that did NOT belong at a place of business where other people’s clothes are. I for one, would not want my clothes smelling like dog piss and have hair all over it. As I was explaining to her what I wanted, she actually LEFT in the middle of our conversation to attend to another customer who had come out of the bathroom. There was no «can you please hold on one moment» or «excuse me for a minute» she just walked off in the middle of me speaking.
Any way, I end up leaving and after calling around, I decide to go with her mostly b/​c she is about a minute away from my job and I was desperate b/​c the event where the dress was to be worn was within a week. When I called her, she was so nasty to me on the phone and ended up RAISING her original price $ 10 b/​c I didn’t go with her the first time! Who does that? So instead of welcoming new business, you want to run them off by raising your prices for no good reason? Wow.
Never ever coming back. I should have turned around and left when I saw how dirty the place was and the parking is a nightmare.
My advice is to research a good place, not settle for something b/​c it is near you.

She does great work in a timely fashion and for fairly cheap too.
Some of the reviews say this woman was rude… which I never experienced. She was nothing but kind to me and my boyfriend when I went in. Also… The woman does have dog. Not a «Large» dog like a previous review stated, but a little miniature poodle looking dog that never once made a peep when I was there.
I would 110% recommend Genis’ Tailor.
