I made a trip to Saint Paul, MN and needed a place to work on my thesis. My friends referred me to «The Dancing Goat Coffeehouse». Parking was awesome, it’s always a plus to have a big parking lot(especially by downtown). I went in around 9:00 a.m. and the first floor was packed. I got my pumpkin spice coffee(it was delicious) and noticed that there was a second floor. I went up and it was much quieter up there. I had a beautiful window seat and time alone for a good 20 minutes. Nice space and people! Staff = Awesome and really friendly

I love the coffee at The Goat, and love to have a great place like this close to home, but the service is always very slow. I’ve learned only to come here if I can wait 10 min for my latte… I like that there is a meeting space and a place for children to play.

Only place on the east side of St. Paul that has great coffee. Trust me, this is one of two places in the East side that offers quality coffee at reasonable prices.

I love the look of this place! I know its new but it could use bigger tables. I like the menu and the coffee there. The environment is very chill and relax. It’s also next to a school so college students can always stop in and do homework.

Just opened up a year ago. Right near Metro State off 7th St E. Really nice coffee shop. Short lunch menu but man the choices look nice. Undoubtedly the most spacious coffee shop near Lowertown. I’ll be back.

If I could give 4.5 stars I would. I got their espresso and it was very good but not quite 5 stars good. Interior, likewise, is good but not great.

Friendly relaxed atmosphere, great coffee/tea options. They could have a couple more breakfast options, but it’s great that they will do blended beverages. Big thumbs up for the blended chai!

I stopped in at the goat to begin my day with hot coffee at a slow pace. The coffee at the goat is great — and free on-site refills are a bonus. I would have ordered food… but nothing on the menu inspired my appetite. The common space is open and eclectic, ambient music echoes throughout. The goat comes off as sterile, bland and impersonal. It’s not a bad place, but it’s not a space that encourages casual lingering. Although I intended to hang out for 30 minutes or more, sipping coffee. browsing the web… Etc. However, 15 minutes was more than enough. I didn’t get the welcoming, neighborly vibe I was looking for.

Was here for a paint night event even though it was hosted at around 1 in the afternoon so should probably have called it paint afternoon. Also instead of canvas we painted mugs which was fitting since we were at a coffeehouse. There’s private spaces on the second floor. We clearly exceeded the recommended occupancy limit but I guess we were all seated so no big deal. In the room neighboring us they were having some sort of sci fi authors shindig. I didn’t try any food but from what I saw it didn’t look particularly interesting. Didn’t hear any rave reviews for coffee either. The guy across the table wished there was alcohol. Heard a coffee shop across the street has been around longer and might be more legit? Might try it sometime but I’m lazy and don’t like especially making a trip unless a) parking is easy b) traffic isn’t a problem.

My sister and I recently signed up for a painting class that took place upstairs at The Dancing Goat Coffeehouse. We thought it might be more convenient to have a coffee and have a light meal here. My sister had read reviews about this place, apparently it did not have all that it advertised and that they ran out of things. My sister was skeptical about eating here and unfortunately she was right. If all you want is a coffee to sip while visiting or reading that would be fine. The Dancing Goat Coffeehouse website menu does not accurately reflect what they offer. For example: the Full«Goat» grilled burrito was totally not what they listed on their website. No «caramelized onions, no «Gorgonzola cheese» and they were out of horseradish sauce. They appeared surprised when told their website mentioned caramelized onions, false advertising in my estimation. Ok, I said, «what kind of soup do you have?» as I looked at the menu. «Oh, I’m sorry, we don’t have any soup». I ordered an egg bake wrap which was gross, the«spring greens» had turned and it tasted bad. My sister ordered a plain bagel with plain cream cheese because the lady taking her order said«plain and plain» that’s all we have. Sorry to go on and on… If you have any desire to have a nice lunch please believe this review and have a sandwich else where and save this place for a coffee(only) perhaps.

I had heard mixed reviews of this coffee shop, but I was eager to stop in, as it’s such a welcome addition to a struggling Eastside. Service was great, coffee(with free refills in-house) was excellent, atmosphere was great. Roomy, pleasant, chill. I’ll be back. Nice job!

Fun, cozy, quiet shop. Love the nanizza. Nice to have a kids playroom and separate meeting room. Friendly staff!

I really wanted for this place to be great, but I just felt let down at every turn. Décor and seating wise the place has been left mostly empty, and this doesn’t make for a place you really want to spend time in. I ended up ordering myself a rather disappointing combo of a latte and nann-pizza, which I was then informed after paying for that they didn’t actually have the ingredients prepared to properly make my order. The coffee was mediocre overall, and I don’t see myself coming back for a second go. I’ll stick with Swede Hollow next door.

What I look for in a coffee shop: 1. Good coffee — no complaints here 2. Good food — Sweets are good. I haven’t tried the other stuff but it sounds like good offerings 3. Conveniently located outlets — A+ on this one. They’re everywhere! 4. Consistent wifi — It’s always worked when I needed it. 5. Comfortable seating/cozy atmosphere — Spacious, comfy, I dig it. So far I am very pleased here. There’s lots of space and quiet areas to work. The staff is friendly. It seems nice for working or hanging out with friends whether you just want coffee or you’re also a little hungry.

Fantastic new independent coffee house on a renovated building set back from e 7th st. A grand opening was met with much enthusiasm on Wednesday, and the atmosphere has been filled with a lot of energy since then. Housed in a nice sized building, there is plenty of room for families and groups, and very nice décor. Framed pics of goats and comfortable furniture are nice. Check it out.

There’s a new coffee shop on the east side, and it’s right across the street from Swede Hollow. The sign for The Dancing Goat Coffee House has COFFEE in a gigantic, all caps font and it persuaded me to get my caffeine fix at a different place this morning. What a mistake. The Dancing Goat opened two weeks ago and it is, quite obviously, still trying to get it’s act together. But I don’t have the patience for that. I couldn’t taste the espresso in my latte, the hummus platter that I ordered came with tough pita and bruised and damaged vegetables, and the barista made a snide comment about Swede Hollow when I mentioned that that’s where I often get coffee. Lesson of the day: Never cheat on Swede Hollow.
