Usually have wine at least 10% off on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but I hit a 20% off sale last Saturday. Good opportunity to stock up on my favorite Spanish Cava imported by a local company. Staff is always helpful, and great selection of wine, spirits and beer for the size. Added bonus-never know when they’ll have a tasting set up at the front of the store, which is how I discovered that Cava in the first place.

Occasionally when at home, I enjoy mixing up an alcoholic beverage. In order to do so, I must have alcohol at home. So where do I go to buy his libations? The answer is very complicated and involves several variables, such as product selection, cost, and quantity. However, 99% of the time I can get what I need at one of two proprietors: Morelli’s off of Payne Ave or Lowertown Wine & Spirits on 4th. This review will focus on my wife’s favorite: Lowertown Wine & Spirits. Lowertown Wine & Spirits is honestly right outside our back door, so it could not be more convienent. Convienence aside, there are several other reason to shop at Lowertown Wine & Spirits. First of all, the owners, Jerry and Gerry, have a very knowledgeble staff. There have been a few times when I have needed a little direction or a recommendation(I realize that may be hard to believe). And everytime the guys at Lowertown Wine & Spirits come through for me. Gerry has helped my wife with wine on a few occasions, and Jerry turned me on to an Irish Whiskey that is now one of my favorites. Or maybe Jerry helped my wife, and Gerry helped me. I can’t remember. Secondly they have a very nice selection of wine, spirits and beer. Now you may be thinking that lots of liquor stores have a great selection, but most liquor stores are not the size of my living room. Somehow they pack a great variety into a small space without making anyone feel claustrophobic. Finally, despite the obvious cost of doing business in downtown, Lowertown Wine & Spirits is able to maintain very competitive prices. Their prices are even better when you stop by on Tuesdays and Saturdays, when they offer 20% off all wines. My wife and I have enjoyed every experience we have had at Lowertown Wine & Spirits, so I encourage you to support your local business next time you are in need of a little hooch.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this little liquor store is small, but fierce. Come to think of it, they should add«beer» to their name, because I found myself hypnotized by the craft beer selection. I ended up bringing home a sampler pack of jumbo bottles from St. Paul’s own Flat Earth Brewery. What can I say? I like big beers and I cannot lie. Prices seemed moderate and the service was friendly too. Plus, the light rail construction seems over in Lowertown(for now) so there’s no excuse for you not to check it out yourself. :)

Your classic neighborhood liquor stop. You feel like you are going into your own basement but with a MUCHBETTER selection — The Jerrys make you feel right at home. Holds onto its local vibe and prices are just right. I enjoy 20% off wine Tuesdays. Highly recommend to anyone in the Lowertown area.

This is a handy little(really little) place for downtown dwellers. I recently made my first stop here for some fancy beer to give as a gift. While I was there, I had to check out the prices on my two favorite things to drink — Ketel One vodka and Hendricks gin. Ketel One was priced right. Hendricks was too high. No problem! I’ll grab bottles of vodka here and stock up on gin when I take my car out of the city.

I really love this place. The people that work there are friendly and helpful. The prices are good and I like the beer selection. They deliver, which is great as well. I’ve spoken with the owners Gerry and Jerry and they even helped out a community event I organized by making a donation. I like the fact that they are involved in the community of lowertown, they have a lot of art from around the neighborhood in their store.

Very friendly and convenient liqour store in Lowertown. While their selection might not be the largest, they do have a decent assortment of craft, macro and international beers priced fairly reasonably. They also have a decent selection of wine and spirits. While their prices might not always rival that of some of the larger suburban liqour stores they’re still pretty reasonable given the location. They have a few parking spaces in the alley across the street from their storefront and as others have mentioned they offer free delivery on orders over $ 20 and often have wine tastings, etc. Also, the owners and employees here are very friendly — there have been a number of times they have offered to order an item for me that they normally don’t stock. Definitely a good neighbor to have in Lowertown.

Surprising selection for its size. I could care less about the wine, but the beer selection is great and the prices are in line with much larger stores.

Good store in a pinch. Totally agree that their beer selection is more varied, with better price points, than their wine.

Good neighborhood wine/beer store. The guys that run it(Jerry & Jerry) are really friendly. About 40 different types of beers. Relatively big selection of wines, for a small store, but has very few wines below $ 12
