Amazing ice cream as always that is sure to please all ages! However the pizza/salad side leaves something to be desired. Pizza sauce was very sweet and salad okay. I was happy that my gyro salad came with spinach instead of just ice berg lettuce however!

Never disappoints. Ordered a split single waffle cone. They are homemade cones and the choices of creams are amazing. Will be back.

Giant overflowing ice cream cones have yet to steer me wrong. This place is pretty small, and always full. The ice cream selection is amazing. Of course they have the standard flavors, but then there’s also Cookie Monster(a delectable cookie dough and butter pecan combination), strawberry cheesecake, and cherry chocolate crunch just to name a few! The specialty flavors rotate, so if you see one that looks interesting, get it or it might be gone next time you come! The portions are HUGE. You can opt for a single serving of one flavor, a single serving consisting of two flavors, or a single serving consisting of five flavors. There’s also the option of a double serving, but even I would have to draw the line of that being too much ice cream. Seriously, the single serving is already what an average person would consider three servings of ice cream to be. You can also opt for toppings like sprinkles and nuts, but honestly the flavors here are good enough on their own and don’t need embellishments. Go the extra mile and get a waffle cone. If you don’t, you’ll just have regrets, and no one wants that.

I was literally going back and forth clicking three stars or four. But then I thought, hey, this is ice cream we are talking about so I can’t be too stingy. When you walk in, there is this wave of vanilla sugar fragrance that hits you and it’ll probably make you want to devour as much ice cream as you can get your hands on. At least that’s what happened to me. My friend and I had just eaten dinner down the street and were completely stuffed. She goes in, orders a waffle cone and proceeds to get a pint to-go. She has her priorities straight. I had a single dish(though from what it seems like, waffle cones are the way to go) and it was a generous portion, but one that I probably wouldn’t pay $ 5 for again(unless I get a waffle cone). It’s a couple cents more if you want to still get a single serving but an additional flavor. However, a kids size still is a decent portion so maybe I’ll opt for that next time depending on the level of hunger. Ice cream was pretty good(how can it not be though, seriously) but I was not completely woo-ed by my choice of chocolate peanut butter(where was the PB?). There are a couple seating options outside so you can watch the hustle and bustle of Grand Avenue which unfortunately were already taken so we ended up taking a little walk instead. Overall, it’s a pretty classic place that is now making me crave sweets.

Who says ice cream is just for kids? No matter what age you are I believe everyone deserves a frozen treat every now and then and Grand Olé Creamery is a testament to this. What I like most about their ice cream is the smooth texture and crazy selection of flavors. Believe me when I say there are lots and lots of choices. i feel like every time I come here there is always some flavor that peeks my curiosity and only through experimenting will you find your favorite. Prices are a bit strange here. It seems like you pay a bit much for a single scoop, but they make the scoops much bigger than other ice creams stores do. Put it this way, two kids could probably easily split a single scoop serving here. Only complaint are the long lines, however one could argue that a long lines means it’s worth it… so it’s worth it!

This place has some of the best ice cream. Certainly a local favorite, as they provide a wide selection of flavors to choose from.

There really is nothing like the vanilla fragrance you get as you walk into Grand Olé Creamery and smell the waffle cones being made. It sends you right into ice cream bliss. Grand Olé Creamery’s prices have gotten out of hand, but it’s a great place to splurge on homemade ice cream. One thing I love about Grand Olé Creamery is the variety of flavors, and that they have so many of them. My personal favorites include Black Hills Gold, Butter Brickle(yum!), Butter Pecan, and Black Cherry. If you’re debating whether you want a dish or a cone, or what kind of cone to get… definitely go with one of their homemade waffle cones. Not only will you enjoy the cone, but you’ll especially like the little treat(malted milk ball) you get at the end! It’s guaranteed that you’ll have a hard time finding parking and that you’ll be spending some time waiting in line if you visit anytime during the summer. It’s a great place for people watching and sharing(scratch that… order your own) ice cream with someone you enjoy spending time with. There isn’t a lot of space for seating inside, so you may want to just grab your cone to go and stroll down Grand Avenue. It’s a great summer activity. I’ve had the pizza at Grand Pizza next door and it’s quite good as well.

Ice cream in a huge variety of flavors and sizing options. Be careful what you order, because you get a lot for your money! I love the strawberry cheesecake and the birthday cake flavors. Hard to branch out and try something new when my favorites are so perfect! I often stop here after a full dinner at India House.

Was a little disappointed when I stopped in last night. got 2 pints; one for the lady and I. Mine sat out for a while, and was melted on the bottom, with the top flavor being hardly filled. I weighed out both actually, and there was a huge difference between the two. Like, there were maybe 5 spoons-worth on the top half, and there was a lot of air. This was kind of disappointing as the bottom’s texture was ruined, and the top was just lacking. Good customer service for the most part, but this was pretty disappointing and I probably wont be back.

I used to come here all the time when I lived in St. Paul during the good ol college days. Best thing about this ice cream place is the size they give you in a scoop! If you have a small appetite like me, I recommend getting the kid size cone. You can pick an ice cream flavor and they put a whopper candy to top it off. Also, their bathroom is pretty nice. It doesn’t smell or is super dirty like other places.(Good to know.) Fun fact: Obama has visited this place! Recommendations: do not get the strawberry cheesecake. It tastes mostly like vanilla mixed with very very very little cheesecake and strawberry flavor. Instead– try the Cookie Monster. It is dyed blue but has Oreo and cookie dough mixed into it.(Yum!) They also serve pizza and other hot foods if you’re looking for a real lunch.

There is something amazing about strolling into this place, smelling pizza, garlic, and waffle cones, and thinking — F you diet, I’m tearing apart some god damn ice cream tonight! After dinner, decided to go through that. Luckily, we got there between rushes, so the line wasn’t too bad. For those of us that have tried entering only to see a line down the block, this is major horse shoe up ass kind of luck. Luckier yet, we even got a parking spot right across the street, which for anything on Grand Ave is a feat in it’s own right. I got birthday cake and cookie dough inside a waffle bowl. She got strawberry cheesecake and Raspberry Chocolate Flake in a waffle cone. The ice cream is that delicious, heavy creamy kind of ice cream that looks at soft serve with it’s nose up in the air and calls it a vagina. It’s thick, it’s got chunks of delicious ingredients mixed in, and it’s everything a human should want when they’re craving ice cream for dessert. The birthday cake was sweet, the sprinkles and cake pieces mixed in were fantastic. Also provided a sweet extra little change of texture too, which is always appreciated. The cookie dough had intense chunks of dough mixed in and not those little balls(hahaha, I said little balls!). I might have had some of her ice cream when she wasn’t looking, or doing something else. The cheesecake chunks and strawberries were a shade down from divine, but, still heavenly. I didn’t get a chance to taste the raspberry-chocolate. I was shooed away and told to keep my tongue to myself. By all accounts, delicious though. Then, the waffle cones, which might be the best part of it all. Perfectly crunchy, and we’ll go with dreamy kind of malted goodness to wreck with the ice cream.

Stopped in by chance last night while I was checking out Summit Ave. Christmas lights(disappointing) and saw it was open late. I was surprised for an ice cream place to be open late on a Sunday in December! 5 stars for that alone. I got a «child size» scoop of the eggnog flavour on a sugar cone, thinking it would be a good way to sample their ice cream. Well, it’s a pretty generous size for a child, much like the child size drinks from Parks and Rec: «it’s roughly the size of a 2-year-old child». It was a little more than I wanted but I appreciated that it was so much for a mere $ 3.50 total. Amazing! The ice cream itself had an almost marshmallow fluff texture and taste along with the eggnog flavour, and was topped with a single malt ball(it’s a cute touch, rather than a cherry, but I unfortunately don’t like malt balls). The ice cream was delicious and I didn’t mind standing out in the 34 °F to finish it off.

We used to walk to Grand Olé Creamery when we lived in the Grand/Summit neighborhood! Nice local tradition of homemade ice cream and waffle cones. Can’t complain about the taste of their ice cream but I do think their prices are a little steep. I would get the kiddie cone to avoid a high price, but then you can’t get their homemade waffle cone.

Yummy ice cream during a summery evening was a delightful experience. The line moved quickly, ordered ice cream and pizza. The pizza was crispy and hot. Found out they’ll deliver pizza or ice cream. Yay!

We stopped in for some pizza and ice cream this weekend with our two year old and twin one months olds in tow. The pizza as good to very good, but their ice cream… I had a chocolate shake, it was right up there in the top 5 shakes I have ever had. My wife had the largest single scoop of ‘scream i have ever seen. There prices for food are very competitive, and little less so for the ice cream, but the serving size is monstrous. Pizza topping selection was good, it was the first time I saw habaneros as option, which where fresh and tasty. The staff was friendly, the establishment was clean, I give it a solid 5 starts and if it wasn’t a 40 min drive, we would be back more often.

This is a St. Paul classic for a reason. Homemade waffle cones, large selection of new and classic flavors, charming old-fashioned ice cream parlor vibe in a great neighborhood, open late, servings are generous, and Obama has been there(so that’s pretty cool). Perfect summer spot for sweet tooth seekers.

I really like this place and their unique flavors but I wish they wouldn’t give such huge servings! I have to admit, I was judging a woman in front of me who was receiving a huge serving, but then I realized THATWAS A SINGLESCOOP. Inexpensive, but a little more than you’d expect to pay because the servings are so huge. The line was out the door when we walked up on a Saturday evening but we didn’t mind! It’s definitely worth the wait. I can only speak to the ice cream, but they look like they have a lot of sitting room in there(we took ours to go).

What can I say about this place?!? Well it’s just the vibe and the hustle bustle in this place I love coming too! It’s always packed and the staff always has a smile on their faces! Love their ice creams I keep getting different flavors each time! Their pizza hoagie joint is nice too! Good pizzas and quick service! Overall it’s a fun fun place anytime of the day!

Awesome spot in an adorable neighborhood. The smell of freshly made waffle cones and bowls is amazing. I got matcha and raspberry chocolate. It was all very good(though being somewhat obsessed with raspberry-chocolate ice cream, I’ve had better – but it was still good!) and my husband’s cookie monster flavor was even yummier. Sitting on the sidewalk in the warm breezy summer evening aglow with red neon was a really nice way to start our vacation in MN!

This is the place to go for super tasty ice cream when you don’t care how much you’re spending. The waffle cones are amazing(I’m a sucker for fresh waffle cones) and their ice cream choices were great! Oh, and try the Taro. I am normally strictly a coffee-chocolate person, but this was great! Worth the wait and the price, I promise!

Amazing, homemade ice cream. Waffle and Cake –cones made on the premises. Don’t let the line out front scare you, they get customers through quickly and it is worth the wait. Try Butter Brickle, and take one of the ice cream sandwiches home with you. A great place to spend a little time on a summer evening in the Twin Cities.

I’ve only came here to eat the ice cream but have yet, to try out their pizzas. Grand Olé Creamery is a little hole in the wall on Grand Avenue. Grand Avenue is a wonderful place to explore St. Paul, filled with many unique restaurants and shops that you won’t see in other areas of Minnesota. The first time I came here, I tried Birthday Cake and Black Hills Gold in a waffle cup. Although the waffle is made directly in their store, I didn’t find it that satisfying. It just tasted like a regular cone with little flavor and became soggy after the ice cream settled in it. Next time, I opted out of the waffle cone. One thing I really like about Grand Olé Creamery is the ice cream is not overwhelmingly sweet like other ice cream parlors. Typically near the end of my cone at other ice cream shops, I feel like I’m done with sweets for at least a couple of days. However, their ice cream is just the right enough of sweet without overbearing your senses. I usually get a single scoop split which is just two different flavors in the size of one single scoop but recently tried the kid’s cone which ended up being plenty for me(shown in the picture). It’s a similar size portion to the single scoop split, and also a cheaper price. They also have a Belly Rewards card and you can earn 5 points per visit(with 25 points, you can get BOGO on ice cream scoops so make sure you ask them about this reward system if you haven’t heard of it). Although I love the ice cream here, I’d love to see more flavors added! They do have some unique flavors such as taro, matcha(green tea), mango, etc. However, I find that a lot of their flavors are a slight tweak of popular flavors. For example, they have some flavors with unique names that just seem to be minor tweaks of the all-famous«oreo» or «cookie dough» flavors. Overall, great place for ice cream located in a great area for exploration, but I look forward to new flavors in the future.

Ice Cream Ice Cream! Who screams for Ice Cream? Of course I do! I’ve heard many good things about Grand Olé Creamery from my buddies in the College of Pharmacy! I just haven’t had a chance to try it until recently. My girlfriend and I were in the area and was craving some ice cream. We’ve been going to Izzy’s in St. Paul, which is delicious and worth trying if you haven’t been yet, but wanted to try somewhere new. We both hate Sebastian Joe’s, so that will never be an option. We decided to give Grand Olé Creamery a shot! It’s located in a very nice suburban neighborhood near Saint Paul. It’s right down on grand, which is filled with lots of good eateries like Café Latte. Amazing. I just love that part of Saint Paul. It’s very calm, soothing, very nice place to chill. Upon entrance, you will most likely be greeted with a fairly long line, especially on nice summer days! The line can be a little slow, but it will be well worth the wait! Upon entrance, you can smell the aroma of them making the waffle cones! It smells like heaven. all that butter and cream in the air. Amazing smell. We decided to try a few different flavors while we were there. We sampled the birthday cake, sweet cream and Black Hills Gold. After sampling, we decided to get 2 single scoops. My girlfriend got the birthday cake and I got the Black Hills Gold. They were both outstanding to me. So good!!! The birthday cake was really good. It was perfectly sweetened, unlike the overly sweet ones they make at Cold Stones Creamery. It truly tasted like my birthday while eating birthday cake flavor ;). So good. I got the Black Hills Gold, which was a very rich version of cookies and cream. That one was really good too. I usually don’t eat or like Cookies and Cream, but upon sampling, I fell in love with this one. Black Hills Gold was very good! It’s probably not the healthiest option, but man, was that one good! Lastly, we both got it on the waffle bowl. We couldn’t resist the smell. It just smelled so good, we had to get it. However, it wasn’t that great. Partly was probably due to the fact that the waffle got soggy by the time we finished the ice cream. I’d probably recommend the cone version if you want to try the waffle. The waffle isn’t that special. I don’t think I’ll ever come across a cone as good as Ici Ice Cream in Berkeley. Man do I miss that place, but until then I will have to stick with Izzy’s and Grand Olé Creamery. I highly recommend Izzy’s and Grand Olé Creamery over the unoriginal Sebastian Joe’s. There is nothing special about Sebastian Joe’s. I’d rather eat OTC Talenti or Haagen Daz than Sebastian Joe’s. If you want to try some unique flavors then go to Izzy’s. Though Grand Olé Creamery does have some different flavors like Taro, but a lot of their flavors are similar to each other. They have like ¾ different takes of Cookies and Cream, which all taste similar to each other. Go to Grand Olé Creamery if you want high quality traditional ice cream flavors. You can’t go wrong with either Grand Olé Creamery or Izzy’s, but you will go wrong if you go to Sebastian Joe’s.

4.5 stars for the WAFFLE cones here. Freshly made, buttery and crunchy, not hard. The cones are better than the ice cream. Over the years I noticed that they try to make unique flavors but they are never a success. I tried coconut chip, gross. Taro flavor was so far off, EW I ended up with raspberry chip, 3 stars for taste. stick with the classics, vanilla or choco

You know the ice cream is good, when on a colder summer night there is a line out the door! I love their different flavors, but always go with the mint bonbon. When you order a waffle cone, they put a whopper at the bottom so it doesn’t leak… isn’t that a smart idea? And a tasty surprise at the end… I never make it that far though. My 9 year old always gets excited because they put two whoppers at the bottom of his and one on top! Solid old school ice cream shop.

After a great dinner at Brasa we walked across the street for ice cream cones at Grand Olé Creamery. Now, just to get it out of the way, I think $ 3.50 for a one-scoop kids cone is a little much. But, I realize that the experience of getting that sugar cone heaped with ice cream from a shop that smells of delicious, fresh waffle cones comes with a price. Employees were fast and helpful, answering all my questions about what was in the different flavor and offering samples. Patient, too, with my kids’ indecision. I wasn’t going to get my own ice cream, intending just to mooch off the kids, but I was lured in by the North Country Crunch(I believe they said it was light chocolate, Heath candy and slivered almonds). Good variety of options, from standards to more eclectic flavors like Easter and Chai Coffee. Pictured — starting with the top right hand in the green sweatshirt and going clockwise… Cookies N’ Cream, Black Cherry, North Country Crunch(amazing, loved every bite), Coconut Chip(different, in a good way, my daughter loved it) and Chocolate PB Chunk(super rich).

I been wanting to try this place forever but been hibernating the past few months to get this massive exam over with. Now that is finally over the first place I could think of to celebrate with my two closest friends here, is Grand Olé Creamery. This place did not disappoint. If you have«indecisive syndrome» like me, there is an option o get 5 scoop sampler(see picture) that is massive. #sugarattack #sugarcoma The dude behind the counter was super nice and very patient when I asked to try the favors. I ended with Rum Cherry, Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Cheesecake, and for asian kicks, Taro. All this in a massive dish for $ 6, which is actually just $ 1 more than one regular scoop on a dish, Their ice cream is sooooo good. It is so creamy and not icy like some other places that serve store bought ice cream. Also in the pumpkin pie ice cream, they have mixed in marshmallows and pie crusts which were delicious. After all the ice cream, i would still say Taro and Rum Cherry were my two favorite flavors of the day.(Actually, rum-flavored anything is my favorite of the day). I died of sugar coma about an hour later so you probably want to share this bad boy.

I have been a fan of Grand Olé Creamery since my Macalester Days! In fact, when I was pregnant with Ci, at lunch hour, I would go to Cossetta’s for a slice of pie, then stop at Grand Olé Creamery before heading back to work. Awww… To be pregnant again and eat like that and have no one look at you funny! The joys of being prego! The staff here is amazing! I don’t know how they keep those smiles on their faces while answering the same questions all day long and giving samples with those little tiny spoons! I LOVE those little spoons! I eat my ice cream cone using one of those tiny spoons. It makes it so fun! Some of my faves are Black Hills Gold, Taro, Cookie Monster, and MacDaddy. Oh yeah, Pralines and Cream but they never have that anymore! :(…The one flavor I do not like is pistachio which is usually one of my faves. I don’t think they put enough nuts in and it almost tastes like instant jello pistachio pudding mix… Yuck… Lines can get long in the summer but its a must stop if you are a visitor in St. Paul. Its an institution!

Thoughts I had while at Grand Olé Creamery: 1. Wow, there is a line out the door… this place must be good. 2. It smells so good in here! 3. Too many flavors to choose from… how am I going to pick??? 4. How am I supposed to know what’s in the Mac Daddy ice cream if they don’t explain it on the wall of flavors? 5. I only want to get a single scoop but I can’t decide! 6. Oh thank God, you can split your single serving and have 2 different flavors! 7. I HAVE to get it in a homemade waffle cone, they look too good. 8. Sweet, it’s our turn to order. 9. $ 26 for ice cream, holy crap! 10. Score! The Mac Daddy is delicious… even if I’m not sure what’s in it. 11. Yum, the Coffee Break ice cream is good too… I’m so glad I got both. 12. Wow, I’m full! 13. I can finish it… I think 14. I did it… and the malted milk ball at the bottom was yummy too! 15. Next time I think I’ll have to get the kids size… I feel like I’m in an ice cream coma!
