Meh. Generally I love Banana Republic but this store in Rosedale Mall is very small and the petites section was absolutely dismal. Also, the guy that rang me up was nice but I was never asked if I wanted assistance or a fitting room in the roughly half hour I was in the store. Two reasons I shop at BR are the petites department and their customer service, so this was quite a letdown on both fronts. I am rounding up to 3 Stars because: as per usual they had a great sale going on so I got a $ 198 blazer for $ 118 (!), Maplewood Mall doesn’t have a BR so undoubtedly I will be back to this one at some point, and the average customer may not care about the petites selection.

I like the layout of this particular BR. There’s a surprising amount of space reserved for sale items and I’m starting to think BR isn’t as expensive as it used to be. In general, I prefer their pants over what I find at Express or The Limited, plus the vibe is a lot less sweaty and one-​night-​standish.
While I was trying on things in a dressing room, one of the sales associates brought me an assload of shirts to try on. I didn’t ask for shirts, I didn’t care about shirts, and I didn’t want to deal with shirts. Maybe she was bored and thought that if she threw enough crap at me I might buy some of it. There were definitely too many employees on the sales floor and not enough work for them to do. I don’t blame them; management should look at hourly traffic records and schedule with a little more finesse.
