Colleague and I stopped here for a quick drink. Say on the patio/porch which has a great view of the marina. Server was very friendly and accommodating. Loves the casual décor. Can’t comment on the food, but definitely come back for a casual meal when we have more time.

We ate here three times… kept doming back. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, varied menu, and excellent service. Oh. And the prices are very reasonable. Try the Maple planked baked Whitefish.

Came here as a late night option. Ambiance: Fairly standard dinner restaurant with some interesting skiing and historic flair in the back room we were seated in. Staff was super friendly but they got flustered when I asked if they could make a substitution. Food: Best part of the meal was definitely the rolls which were still slightly warm when we got them. They had a lightly yeasty flavor and a great texture balancing chewy and fluffiness. My entrée was the wet burrito which was only mediocre. The spicy pork wasn’t spicy at all but was admittedly moist and savory. It was covered in lettuce and tomato which was pointless filler and covered in chili which I suppose is meant to stand in for enchilada sauce? For some reason the staff could not figure out how to substitute nacho cheese for queso(which they serve on their actual nachos), but it ended up being OK. My wife’s trout special was incredibly fishy tasting which could have been remedied by skinning the fish. Overall the place was very friendly but the food was lackluster especially considering their relatively prices, would’ve rather gone to a chain restaurant if there was one.

Well cooked fish, burgers, and steaks. Overall relatively friendly service. We enjoy Sunday breakfast here. They have a nice selection in the buffet and a very tasty breakfast menu. Bacon, eggs, French toast, yogurt, apples, eggs Benedict, American fries, sausage gravy, biscuits, and melon are some of the options.

Love this place! The food is good albeit a bit pricey. The staff is awesome and friendly. I go to the Driftwood often and will continue to do so. They keep a good amount of Michigan beers on tap and rotate seasonally. Oh, and you can’t beat the view from the patio… it’s a great place to watch the fireworks display every Saturday during the summer.

Pleasantly surprised at the quality. Service was exceptionally fast in both the restaurant and the bar. Food also was very good and with a large portion. Since this is a restaurant attached to a hotel, and in a tourist destination, I really did not expect a lot. Many times places like this have poor service and low-quality food. Not so with the Driftwood. The waitress and bartender were both very attentive and the food came out shockingly fast. If you are concerned about where to go when you are in the Saint Ignace area, this place will not disappoint you. The tortellini was very good, and the bar food appetizers were also all very good.

Great food the muscles were delicious the shrimp a tad overcooked. The seating wasn’t too but the overall atmosphere of the place was nice to go along with the good food!

Irish nachos, hush puppies, fish in a bag and chicken Cesar wrap all amazing. Half bar and half restaurant; cool place to be.

Excellent food. I was lucky to book a room at this hotel, which is very clean and larger than I expected. We ate here on our first night and I can’t wait to try another dish tomorrow. The sports bar is very cool with a couple pool tables and a dart board. It also has a large selection of Michigan brews and otherwise. Now the Red wings game is playing and all is good at the Driftwood!

Ambience is nice. Not loud and obnoxious as many sports bars can be. Service is prompt and friendly. Bonus points for being open later than 7PM. Husband got the chicken parmesan, I got the whitefish bites and Irish nachos. Entrees are overpriced, tiny, and do not come with any sides unless you pay an extra $ 3.75 for the soup and salad bar. Appetizers are decent-sized and tasty.

Because this place is actually OPEN when you’re hungry at a reasonable hour(7pm) and the other places that Unilocal said were open were actually closed. That got annoying real fast(5times) This little restaurant and bar is awesome, great canon feeling, good variety of seafood, applies, entrees and deserts. They even have a soup and salad bar if you want to do that. Prompt and friendly service, tasty food. The Irish nachoes were the best I’ve had, they were maybe the healthiest too/they use real potatoes sliced in rounds and baked! Yummy :)) very happy with this place right now and so is my stomach! Also they have pool tables: D

Walked over here from our hotel for a little dinner. I had the chicken parm with a side of spaghetti and a single trip to the soup and salad bar. Even though we are so close i can see Lake Huron from the window, i didn’t order dish because i don’t care for it. My dinner was… acceptable. It wasn’t bad but it didn’t knock my sticks off. I wouldn’t say i was upset because we weren’t at an Italian restaurant so… My husband had the whitefish and enjoyed it. The atmosphere was comfortable and open. Our waiter was very friendly and our food was hot. You can see a lot of locals here. Their conversations with the staff was on a friendly level. I enjoyed that! I would come back but maybe order a pizza or burger next time. Continue with the great attitudes and friendliness. I will remember that more than my dinner.

Would give 3.5 stars, but can’t figure out how to do it(my bad). Came here in a Friday night during the truck show weekend – and by that I mean semi-truck weekend. Now I know why hotels were crazy expensive. This is a sports bar with a full menu. I sat at the bar, which was busy, but the staff were friendly and did a great job of handling their business. They had a lot of Italian things on the menu, including my favorite – Carbonara, but I was afraid to try. I instead went with the whitefish in a bag which is a house specialty(this is northern Michigan). It came out quicker than I expected, and I thought it was prepared in advance, –but the vegetables were al dente, which I prefer(except the potatoes which had been roasted). The fish seemed fresh, but I did need the tartar sauce that came with the meal. Overall I was pleased with the experience. It’s not fine dining, but you can get a step or two above bar food.

Good clean place. Good location. Staff were nice. Food was horrible. Very bland and over priced. Worse food we had on our trip to the U.P. And we went all the way to Hancock, MI. We never will eat here again. My fish taco was gross. My husband olive burger has just olives and mayonnaise with no lettuce or tomato. Very bland.

Had the plank whitefish and it was very good and very fresh. It was packed on a Saturday night but in spite of being told it would be a 25 minute wait, my party of four only waited four minutes. I don’t understand why so many restaurants give these doom and gloom predictions on wait times when in reality, the wait is usually a fraction of the time they say. With impatient people like me, that can cost a lot of business that will just go elsewhere. From 25 minutes to four minutes? That’s ridiculous. The only reason I didn’t leave was my patient friends wanted to wait, but this time, I’m glad I did. I didn’t get anything else, but at a fish joint, I thought it best to get fish. It was full of tourists, but that’s what St. Ignace is all about in August. I would gladly come back because fresh fish is the only way to go in this maritime town. The waitress was overwhelmed and had everyone’s order confused, but I don’t care about that as long as they are pleasant and the fish is good, which it was.

This review is for the bar only, I did not try the food. Nice size sports bar with an outside seating area, friendly bar tenders, and two pool tables. Drinks were fairly well priced and there was a decent draft selection which the bartenders were knowledgeable about. I would rate this bar 4 stars if not for the really annoying Juke box. It played 30 second clips of songs when no one put money into it, which irked me and I ended up playing songs just to make the Frank Sinatra 30 second music blasts stop.

Nice bar atmosphere(though not a full bar.) Great view of the lake from the outside deck. We had mussels, planked whitefish, and blueberry pie. All perfectly good, but would have liked more vegetables with the fish and better ice cream on the pie. It’s Michigan in summertime, after all!

Beer was cold but food was terrible! Ordered a cheeseburger & they brought it out with no lettuce, tomato or onion & bun not toasted. Fries seemed like they had been in the bottom of a freezer for years. Fast food would have been an upgrade. Salad lettuce was wilted. My sisters fish plate was disgusting and filled with bones & skin. Waitress seemed annoyed by everything. This place seems fine for a beer or drink but skip the food!

Nice place to go, good atmosphere. A bit of a local sports bar feel. Place was clean with a good menu. Staff was very polite. Men’s room was laid out a bit funky with a urinal behind the door. Could be an awkward moment using that urinal and getting hit by the door. I would come back.
