This restaurant came highly recommended by our friend who was turning 30 that day. She spoke very highly of the French Onion Soup. I’m not much of a soup guy, but when I had some from my boyfriends bowl, it had made me a believer. We put in an order of their fish bites as well. Breaded white fish bites deep fried and served on a plate. It was pretty darn good too. I liked how nice and crispy the batter is, perfect when you dunk it on the nice serving of tartar sauce. It’s the perfect shareable for a perfect lunch. For the main event, I ordered a French Dip. That one was sorta ok, not the best ever, but good enough I guess. I almost wanna blame it on the kick ass starters. The soup was out of sight, the fish bites was phenomenal, by the time I’m ready to taste my main even, I’m already almost full. But then my taste buds doesn’t really care. That was some«OK» French Dip and I’m just gonna leave it at that. Anyways, the restaurant was clean, orderly and easy to get around inside. The bathrooms were impeccably tidy and the service was top knotch. My dining experience was absolutely fantastic. Thank you very much Pink Pony for a wonderful experience. I’ll see you next time I visit your beautiful island. Weeeeeeee! Follow me on Instagram and snapchat: rodtorres3

We had the french onion soup and the french dip sandwich with sweet potato fries. The star of the show was the sweet potato fries, they had a hint of cinnamon and were perfectly crispy. Would definitely go again to check out other items on the menu.

To start, the hostess gave away our table because we showed up 2… two… minutes after our reservation. The place wasn’t busy on this chilly October day. Our waitress wasn’t friendly, but her service was fine. I ordered a dinner salad and added grilled chicken($ 20 total) … I have no problem paying that price considering where we were, but then it comes out and I kid you not it was the size of a side salad at any other restaurant in the world(see photo). I thought it was incorrect, I was mistaken. No flavor and nothing interesting about it on top. I doubt I’ll return.

Meh. My biggest issue with this and most places on the island isn’t quality — it’s the prices. Does a salad(even if it’s a GREAT salad and a HUGE portion) really need to be $ 20+? I had the french dip, it was good, the service was great… the 3 is due to my bill being MUCH higher than necessary, especially in the off-season.

Came here during some republican convention and future leaders of the world conferences. As a democrat I was quite annoyed at how the republican parties reserved almost over half the restaurants on the island, this was one of the few restaurants left where they hadn’t completely reserved for a private party. And I am SOGLADTHEYWEREAVAILABLE! Jodie Was our server and she recommended the rum runner drink which was fabulous, and I was quite tossed between my lunch options and she said that the French dip was the best out of the several options I was tossed about. AGAINGREATDECISION! I would come back here in a heart bar if I lived here! I look forward to visiting again. Thank you Jodie for an amazing service and great advice! My boyfriends got the whitefish tacos which were fabulous, and my other boyfriend got the chicken BLT Which also was amazing and I ordered the whitefish dip which paired perfectly with everything we ordered! Looking forward to be back soon!

The décor of this place was so cute we had to stop for lunch. The host was a young man and was really sweet and kind and sat us as soon as we came in the door with a smile on his face. The server was okay, that’s why I’m giving a 4 star. She was overwhelmed and had too many tables and had to ask the food runner for refills on drinks. She also seemed irritated when we were asking about items on the menu, trying to decide what to order. But the food made up for it!!! I had the spinach, artichoke, and bacon dip which is making my mouth water just thinking about it. For my entrée I had the chicken burger and the avocado and cheese was a perfect touch to it. Can’t wait to come back just for the food!!!

My wife and stepped into the Pink Pony for lunch today and enjoyed a tasty lunch outside on the patio overlooking the harbor. The Asante age a Wrap was prepared well and my wife’s Fish Tacos were very fresh and yummy. When it came time for dinner, we checked out several options on Main Street on Mackinac Island and decided to give Pink Pony another try for their dinner. Great choice! Everything was delicious, from the warm dinner rolls with whipped cinnamon butter to the sides like cole slaw. I enjoyed the most tender BBQ ribs I’ve encountered in a long time. The meat fell off the bones. My wife loved the prime rib. She even loved their Sangria. All this while enjoying the night air outside overlooking the harbor.

4th time a charm. Atmosphere & view really good but food in the years past has been so-so. Whitefish tacos overpowered by spicy sauce(which is good but not sure if there was any fish!) Chicken BLT very good as well. Bloody Mary w/chaser beer always prepared well. Tip: seat yourself in patio(go to hostess stand in hotel)

Good place for lunch on the lower patio. Attentive staff. The menu had some different items, like an apple Brie flatbread that was delicious. We also ordered the fish tacos which were also very good. Good location right on the water.

If you are looking for live music, an extensive array of local beers on tap and large sport screens the Pink Pony Bar is for you. But if you are looking for great food the sister restaurant out the side door is amazing. We are a half rack of ribs with lobster tail and it was a ton of food. Only order a full rack if you are a very hungry man. The ribs fell off the bone, were moist and very flavorful. I highly recommend.

Had dinner here with the family. Was fantastic. Mother ordered the half ribs and I got the streak with the mushroom risotto. The ribs were tender and the steak and mushroom risotto was very delicious. Wish I had some now!

Our family dined at the Pink Pony for breakfast today, the final morning of our vacation. We stayed at the Chippewa Hotel, so we arrived downstairs at 8:50am. We asked if we could sit out in the open-air area outside and the hostess told us they wouldn’t be able to seat us until 9:00am. So we had to take the kids outside to walk around for 10 minutes. It would have been nice if they’d been willing to allow us to sit down and order coffee, even though we were a little bit early for the outside tables(the dining room was open). Despite our initial pleasure with the giant cinnamon roll, we were sorely disappointed with our meal and overall experience. The scrambled eggs were the same sheets of microwaved egg you would find on a McDonald’s breakfast sandwich(but I don’t want to slam McDonald’s here, the actual scrambled eggs from McDonald’s were far superior to these eggs). My oatmeal was too runny to enjoy. Like a lumpy oatmeal soup. The girls’ yogurt parfaits were good, and the cinnamon roll to share was very good. But if you’re looking for a good egg breakfast, go elsewhere.

One of our favorites on the island. The menu is pretty wide spread and there is generally something for everyone. Live music on some nights is a nice addition too. You can relax and enjoy good food and drink while listening to good music. The atmosphere is relaxed and this is a cross between a great bar and great restaurant. Just what you expect in a tourist area.

Ate at the Pink Pony late in the evening after arrival on Mackinac Island. We sat indoors on the restaurant side looking out onto the water. The décor is bright, pleasant and the restaurant is clean. Our waitress was extremely nice and she was assisted by two polite runners. No issues with service at all. We had brie, apple and walnut flat bread appetizer, fish & chips with sweet potato fries, a 10oz prime rib and white chocolate coconut crème brûlée. The flat bread was delicious although definitely leaning more towards a dessert than an app. The fish was great, super crisp outside but tender and flaky inside. It also had actual fish flavor and was a real filet, not a frozen mash of compressed white fish. Sweet potato fries were fine but heavily seasoned, so you won’t like them if you are looking for the sweet potato flavor. The prime rib was cooked as requested and was just good but not great. Same as you could order anywhere else. Crème brûlée itself was good but the coconut topping was slightly burned and would have been better without it. This place offers any type of dining setting that you want. Next door to the indoor restaurant is a more casual bar/family dining area and a waterfront outdoor patio dining. The band, music and TVs from the bar drift over to the restaurant and the tables are pretty close together though so don’t expect an intimate night. Had a beer flight with dinner. At least 3 – 4 offerings of 4 different beer types on the menu. Plenty of variety, just don’t expect the college teen waitresses to be really knowledgeable about them all. Overall a good choice although I feel it was about 10% overpriced.

It was nice to have a good meal and a beer after biking the island. The Pink Pony had ample seating, so even though it was a crowded day on the island, we did not have to wait for a seat. We ordered the gourmet onion rings with habanero honey BBQ sauce and Asian sriracha sauce. Both sauces were great, but I think I would have preferred the sauce on chicken tenders and ranch on the onion rings. I had the Thai Crunch salad which was very good, but $ 8.95 for a side and an additional $ 4.95 for chicken… so $ 13.90 for that tiny salad seemed pretty steep. We also ordered the whitefish tacos which were good and the honey roasted turkey sandwich that came with a huge pile of turkey. All in all, the food and the service was good, but it was an expensive lunch.

Sit on the upper deck if you can. Great views. Waitress was great. Beer was local Michigan and good. My Cherry Chicken Salad sandwich was so good. Husband had fish tacos that he said were amazing. Lunch starts at 1130am. Get there just before during season. Otherwise, you’ll be waiting in a long line.

Good food and great service! First came with my family making a party of 12 but the waitress handled us including small children with ease and panache! Had the prime rib dip, which was filling. Hubby had the coconut shrimp which looked amazing. Went back later in the evening for a drink and enjoyed the craziness of boat race party with live music and the great local beer list. Drink local, friends! Try the Pink Pony ale.

Please save your money. Still kicking myself for not listening to my husband and sister-in-law, who suggested we go to Millie’s on Main for dinner. What gave this place its two stars is the atmosphere. Nice view of the harbor. We did get seated quickly and our server did a fine job. However, even in the context of generally overpriced Mackinac Island faire, I expected a lot more for the price. When the waitress brought our drinks out in plastic cups, I was in disbelief. We got two orders of the pretzel appetizers. For context, we had also ordered pretzel appetizers at Mary’s Bistro earlier that day for lunch. The ones at Mary’s were pretty good. Not the best I’ve ever had(try Grand River Brewery if you ever find yourself in downtown Jackson, Michigan), but a decent pretzel. The ones from Pink Pony were a solid disappointment. They were chewy and wrinkled and I suspected they were frozen and then microwaved. Served in a paper cone. Cheese was standard velveeta-ish dip, though the guys did like the other option(horseradish mix). Between the pretzel presentation and the plastic cups, I felt like I was eating drive-in food(and mediocre drive-in food at that). Might have been okay had they been drive-in prices. For dinner I had the coconut shrimp with grilled asparagus and piña colada rice. I have had better coconut shrimp at Red Lobster and Outback. Very bland, mango sauce was decent albeit a bit tangy for my taste. I got four thin stalks of asparagus. Rice was«meh.» I would not eat here again. Too many better options with better prices.

Had an excellent breakfast this morning at Pink Pony. We ordered: 1) pancakes with scrambled eggs 2) chocolate chip pancakes with ham 3) 3 egg omelette with spinach, onions, peppers and mushrooms and whole wheat toast. All dishes were well made, were flavorful and the presentation was nice. Our server, Ana, was a cheerful person.

So delicious! Awesome craft beer selection! Fresh fish! Fresh everything. The bar tenders were SO friendly. The food came out very quickly. When you are hanging around Mackinac Island for the day, this is a great spot for lunch and a drink.
