In the town of St Helena, there is Sogni di Dolci, which means sweet dreams. This café is an Italian dream, a vision transplanted from Italy. The poster art proudly proclaim Venchi, Campari and other well-known brands. The red La Marzocca espresso machine happily steams the milk for your lattes & cappuccinos or water for coffee drinks. There’s yummy gelati to be had and, for you sports fans, at least 5 flat screen TVs for sports watching. The café itself is a happening scene for singletons, couples and families and is a warm welcoming beam of light in this very posh town. Come in and take the chill off your bones in the winter. Warm up with a hot beverage. Relax and savor the ambiance because this is one place on main street where one feels welcome regardless of age, pocketbook size or ethnicity. And that’s sometimes challenging in the Napa Valley.

Ugh told my breakfast would take 15 min and waited 30 paid almost $ 20 and what I got was so gross!!! Omelette Parma don’t don’t do it and the potatoes worse than McDonald’s! They do not have the ability to make a latte hot no matter how much you beg. Service is sketch I find this place again frustrating and hard to take with a smile

Visited St Helena last week and was looking for a more relaxed lunch spot that offered sandwiches and we stumbled across this little gem. Lunch menu offers panini’s and salads. My fiancé ordered the ham and cheese panini and I decided on the chicken with pesto; we also split a side of fries. Everything was great and exactly what we needed during a day of wine tasting. You could tell this spot was popular among the locals and not a lot of tourists have bombarded it yet. I highly recommend it!

Been here three times this week, once for breakfast and two times for lunch, I think that the most memorable occasion was this past Wednesday night though. The food is always good, that is why I keep coming back, the selection of beer and wine is great too and always changing, however I choose to write this because of the service. Jessica was our server the other evening and she was very pleasant, when a mistake occurred with our meal it was her reaction that made our time at Sogni worthwhile. The incorrect entrée was brought out and when I pointed it out and said that I wouldn’t have time for the correct one to be made we choose to share our other entrée. However only three-four minutes later our server(and the hard working crew in the back) sent out the correct dish, the restaurant was basically empty so I know that this was a fresh dish, and though I told Jessica we didn’t need the new entrée she did everything she could to try and make our night better. We were able to see in her eyes how much she sympathized with our situation, it was great to have a server who cared about her guests. I will be back just for her service.

As soon as we entered, we were greeted by nice modern, minimalist décor. The restaurant looked clean, although there were some flies situated by a corner. The server was good, although we did have to ask for water refills a few times. The food itself was superb. I ordered the Toscana Panini with fries. The fries came out first and they were a little over cooked, but overall they were pretty good. They had some light seasoning and cheese shavings which accentuated the overall taste. The Panini itself was superb! The bread was perfectly crispy, the balsamic was subtle and not overpowering, and there was the perfect amount of chicken. The portions were decent. If you’re super hungry, you probably won’t get stuffed, but I think it was just enough to satisfy me. Overall, décor was excellent, panini was great, fries were good(but overcooked), and the service was decent. Good food? Yes! Worth the price? Not too sure.

I ordered the Napoletano panini with the garlic fries. Fries came out a bit over cooked but in good portions with ketchup and pesto aeoli which is like an Alfredo kind of sauce. Amazing taste. A must try!!! Panini then came out warm and crisp. Not too impressed by the portion. Cheese was a bit much, but the basil and tomato complimented the bread almost perfectly. Not enough to fill an empty stomach. Not worth the price, but what else are you going to eat here? Gelato was very good, however. Great array of flavors. A bit pricey for the portions though. Worth a try. Ambiance and area was clean and organized. Service was quick and attentive. Overall, this is more for dates when it’s more about talk over food rather than a place to get full at. Napoletano panini = 3.5÷5 Garlic fries = 4⁄5 because of sauce Gelato = 4⁄5

The coffee is delicious. We had a regular and an iced latte. Also tried a scone and chocolate croissant. Everything was well flavored and the price was also decent. The atmosphere is chill and classy. Nice outside patio to enjoy on a cool morning. The employees were upbeat and kind. Would definitely go back.

I come here with my daughter to sit and enjoy gelato and coffee. I do agree with some of the other reviewers that comment how the service and food are erratic. I order at the counter and sit down. I notice that people walk in, look around and leave(sometimes after sitting down and getting a menu). I think the outside façade/environment doesn’t match with the interior which confuses people. It is a clean, well lit gelato shop but also has craft beers and food. Sometimes the music is loud and usually not really matching the quaint surroundings. It needs to figure out what it is.

Great gelato. A little pricey. But I’ve never seen anybody make iced coffee more slowly than they did. My friend ordered an iced coffee and I don’t know about the quality, but it was the slowest I’ve ever seen anybody make a simple cup of iced coffee. If you’re on a hurry, which you probably are not because you’re in Napa valley likely vacationing but still, don’t order a coffee here… Oh, you know what, just had a sip of the coffee — it’s pretty damn good coffee. But still.

While we were on way our to a winery for a Sunday trip we stopped in St Helena to get some brunch. We were lucky to find a spot that wasn’t so terribly busy and was nice and peaceful. We were sat down and we looked at the menu it was simple and defiantly appetizing. Our table decided to order 4 Uova Due’s and we were pleasantly surprised on how great the food was :). One thing that would be a great addition is if the tomatoes were just a bit more roasted. But overall great staff and I loved the atmosphere. We could tell that it turns into a great bar at night and a peaceful café with great coffee in the morning.

Great find in St. Helena! I don’t know how I have passed by this place so many times without knowing it is there. Stopped in last week for lunch and enjoyed a wonderful panini and fries.

Great espresso! Generally I find it very difficult to find a well pulled shot of espresso so I was pleasantly surprised with Sogni Di Dolci. I had a Doppio Con Panna(double shot of espresso with a little whip-cream), yesterday afternoon and the espresso was amazing. Next time I’m in town I will have to try out the food and update the post. Good job on pulling a great shot! Cheers

Really hurts my heart to give this place a bad review. But I kindof have to. Let’s start with whats amazing. The french fries and the coffee. Amazing. I usually get an iced chai w/almond milk and a shot of espresso. It’s the best. The beer/wine selection is good and changes a lot to keep you on your toes. Alright. Moving on to the bad stuff. The service is crap. Absolute crap. It’s like they haven’t decided if they are a café or a restaurant and they are half-assing both. If you order at the counter and pay immediately you usually get what you ordered. But if you fall for their scheme of just sitting and they’ll take your order you will be disappointed! Also don’t order at the bar and then go sit down because that is not gonna work out for you either. They either don’t put in your order at all or wait half and hour to do it. I had to order my fries THREETIMES before I even got them and my wine(which I already paid for) took an HOURTOGETTOME? That is completely ridiculous. The paninis, though I had a good one ONETIME have since been delivered cold and the bread stale. I don’t know what is going on here. They need more help and they need to assign zones or something. All the employs are running all over the place and no one is communicating and everything is slipping through the cracks. Meanwhile I am still waiting for my wine…

This is how he served our water I’m not a Alpert but I know that you are so posed to place the water in front of the person. Service is horrible. My gelato half melted while I was waiting for the server to take years to fill up mine and my other two friends gelato cups. If you are in a hurry and want your food to be at the right tempter this place is not for you!

Mainly come in here for lunch and the paninis are great! Great beer and wine selection. Staff is helpful in suggesting new beers and wines to try. Outside seating is nice and not a bad seat at the bar. A great place to relax and watch the game for beer and wine lovers alike. I have never had the gelato. They have great chai tea — not as spice as I like but tastes great. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Salads are great. I have only tried the Philly cheese steak sandwich for dinner and it was ok — not great. French fries taste like McDonalds fries — this is a good thing if you like those fries.

I came on a very busy Sunday with a large group, which may have been why they messed up on our order and forgot something. Despite that, they were nice enough to correct it by by not charging for said forgotten items. Good service overall. Now on to the more important things-the food. The menu is simple: just paninis with various sides, but these paninis are damn good. The gelato isn’t too bad either. Verdict: Yes, I recommend.

A must see destination in the heart of Napa for great food and atmosphere. Sogni di Dolci is a work of culinary art & passion enlivening sweet dreams. I love this place for romantic coffee and kid friendly treats. I always appreciate a business where the owner is so personally attentive and making sure the experience is perfect. Rarely do you get the opportunity to see a business owner pour that much attention to every gorgeous detail. A true gift to the community. Wish they’d franchise that experience.
