Ever since my college days, the Red Carpet was the place for college students to hang out on weekends. What is it that makes The Red Carpet so popular? It’s located in a large historic building, with many amenities depending upon what you’re looking for. The bar has something for everyone: a band room, a dance floor, an event center, an outside balcony for smoking, the comfy Martini Lounge with wingback chairs and couches, multiple bars on multiple levels, skylights, Tiffany light fixtures, pool tables, and more. If you’re looking to dance, they have you covered. If you’re looking to pull up to a bar and be a barfly, they have you covered. If you want to play pool, they’ve got you covered. Few bars in St. Cloud have as many options(at least 9 bars). We’ve attended the SBOX SuperBowl party here for a couple of years and have enjoyed the ambiance of The Martini Lounge. There’s truly something for everyone at The Red Carpet.

I have been here three times, two of which were with my nephew while helping him move in and move out of college campus. My third visit was last weekend after a horrific visit at The Press Bar, which is down the street from here. Red Carpet is a great place for having a good time and for listening to some good music. I find that this place attracts mostly college students. That is to be expected when St. Cloud State University is nearby. I feel like the«old person» anytime I have been in here, but I do not mind that aspect. I still have no problem having a good time here. I love that they have three different floors, all with different rooms. Every room has a different theme to it. Some are for listening to live bands, some are for dancing, and some are for drinking and mingling with people. I love that every room also has its unique look. If I want to sit or stand in a different atmosphere or scene, all I have to do is move to a different room. This is not saying that every room has appealed to me, but that is just my personal thing. The employees appear to have a good eye with cleanliness and order in all of these rooms. I have never had any major issues with clutter or spills. Therefore, I have always felt comfortable in here. The drinks taste delicious. I drink most wine and liquor; therefore, this place appeals to me regarding drinking them. I have ordered a variety of mixed liquor drinks, and I have never had a problem with them. My one suggestion with this place is to have more drink specials on drinks other than beer. I notice that almost all of their drink specials pertain to beer, and I am not a beer drinker. Almost all of the employees I have encountered are friendly and eager to please their customers. Only once have I ever had an issue with a bartender, but that a while ago. They handle a large crowd of people well. They also appear to handle pressure well, according to what I have seen with other patrons and them. When I am in St. Cloud and and to have a good time, I will continue keeping this place in mind. I feel like I can count on them for a good experience.

This is the only place in StC were you can have a cigarette on a balcony, play 10 different games of pool, listen to Frank Sinatra while sipping a martini, catch an 80s cover band, and dance your little heart out on not one but two separate floors.

In the mood for a martini lounge? Rowdy rock band? Doing Cupid’s shuffle on the dance floor with an army of college kids? If your answer is anywhere near ‘yes’, you’ll probably end up at the Red Carpet. With nine bars in one building, one of them is sure to have an open seat and a wet drink for you. Try the rear balcony on warm evenings, the martini lounge upstairs if you’re out with your co-workers, or the dance floor if you’re out with that co-worker you wish you were closer to. Careful, it’s a small town, and there’s eyes everywhere!

This is a hard one for me to review the bar as a whole is so diverse between all the levels and different bars they are drastically different 1) Martini Lounge Does a good Job staying a little more shirt and tie normally plenty of room to sit comfortable couches and quiet enough atmosphere even on a Friday/Saturday night. Their Martini selection is great their selection of other stuff is a bit limited(beer’s scotches and such) appetizers are great when they have them otherwise no food available. service is a bit slow most nights(seems to be a lack of wait staff rather than a problem with attitude) they accept credit cards here 2) Event Center Classy place for events its a nice sized room decent but small bar easy access in and out of the main area’s without having to deal with the bar room crowd cash only 3) Main Stage Old and run down not the cleanest and wobbly chairs and always busy as heck but they do attract good bands. In the end drunk college part of the bar but safe welcoming and good music. cash only 4) Red/Blue rooms Good before they turn into DJ rooms then become over crowded and over loud cash only 5) Keller Bar Was nice and quiet when it first opened now it gets a bit busy they have gotten a bit better beer selection but the college crowd overflow here now on weekends they do accept cards which is nice Overall some nice rooms for varying taste

I was pleasantly surprised with the music venue at The Red Carpet or the Carpet as the locals refer to it. This place is pretty big. I came to see a friend of mine play with his band and was impressed to find plenty of seating along with a decent size stage and area in front of the stage for people to dance if they were so inclined. There was a pretty good crowd and the accoustics were good which I appreciated. I’m not a fan of places that are too small to host a live band and the shrill ends up driving people away because it’s too noisy. Our server reminded me of Karen from Will and Grace. She was fun and outgoing and attentive for the large group we had. Drink prices were reasonable. Would visit this place again whether a friend was playing or not. Overall I was pretty impressed. Everyone ended up having a great time.

Loud, stinky, and full of college kids looking to get laid. Not my idea of a place to unwind. If dancing and hormonal raging are in your cards for the night, you really can’t go wrong with the Carpet. But if you’re looking to grab a drink with some friends, unwind, and maybe, I dunno, talk, this is the wrong place to do it.
