Total Tan

I am quite pleased. this place has been my go to tanning salon for over 10+ years. the employee’s are very knowledgeable and you have unlimited options and levels tof choose from. They go above and beyond to strive to be the best tanning salon in michigan and exceeded my expectations. They just put a massive inventory in of updates and top of the line beds. The bulbs are always hot. This is not your ordinary tanning salon. This is the definition of luxury tanning. Thank you total tan!

What a clean really nice establishment. I don’t do «real» sun… the spray is great and the staff help you alot if you are a newbie. I recommend this place without reaervation.

Total Tan is the best salon in the area, hands down! Phenomenal beds, awesome, friendly staff, and they usually have great deals going on. You’ll spend twice as many visits and just as much money at another tanning place trying to get the Miami tan you actually want. And if you’re interested in good lotion, they carry all the good stuff :)

I have been going to total tan for 13 years. Total tan always has friendly staff, clean rooms and the best beds. I recommend total tan to all my friends and family. Mark the owner is awesome and extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Never once had a negative experience.

So, after my horrible «Sundays» experience, I was clueless as to where to go to get a good tan. My friend from high school suggested I try Total Tan. Originally I was apprehensive because I had heard that their prices were a little high. But in my situation I was willing to try anything (I really needed some color for a big event I had coming up).
I walked into total tan and was greeted by the owner. Surprised about how friendly and helpful the staff was I decided to vent about the awful experiences I had at the other tanning salon.
The owner was very sympathetic and actually apologized to me for the experience I had at Sundays. On this particular day I was deciding between doing a bed and doing my beloved Mystic. I opted for the bed because I needed to shower right after (when doing mystic you need to wait to shower). The bed (or more like rocket ship) WAS AMAZING it had a surround sound radio, an iPod adaption, aroma therapy sprayers, misting (water) sprayers, and enough bulbs to light the city of Detriot. Let me tell you, one time in this high pressure beauty and I had looked like I came back from a 4 day Caribbean Cruise.
Before I left the owner explained to me that although Mystic is good for sunless color (which I definitely am a fan of), he actually had a new machine that did sunless color but even better. I was hesitant so he gave me a coupon for 10 dollars off a «Versaspa» session. I recently tried this Versaspa and I am sooo hooked! Anyone who is familiar with Mystic know you have to be real careful with the hand and foot barrier cream, the positions you hold while it’s spraying you, your hair being out of the way (or else it could discolor your hair), the annoying wiping down after (you still get drip marks on the back of your leg anyway), and not to mention it’s COLD!
Vera Spa is like nothing I’ve ever tried before. I guess there are only 4 of these machines in Michigan and Total Tan owns one of them. The sprayers are on a tract not a pivot rotation and it’s a fine MIST not a spray. The solution is top of the line giving you a brown instead of a orange color. It’s a 4 pass rotation machine instead of just 2, so It gets completely even color and the positions are natural (none of that claw hand stuff). There are two drying rotations were the sprayers just blow air (no wiping down) and a heater in the machine so it’s not cold. The machine itself is actually open so you don’t get that claustrophobic feeling of being in a dark black box with cold things shooting you (not to mention you don’t have to breathe in those awful fumes). And the machine is completely computerized, it actually talks to you. The guy showing me how to use it told me I didn’t even need to use barrier cream because the mist is so even. He was right, no barrier cream needed.

So, in a nutshell, Total Tan is the place to go. Paying a little extra makes up for the fact that the customer service and equipment is TOP NOTCH. Hey, you get what you pay for right? Go take a visit to these people, I promise, you will not be disappointed.
