I found myself in St. Charles again so I made it a point to stop in for breakfast. Today I had the pork chop breakfast and it was wonderful. Service was attentive as well.

Usually good food but can sometimes be greasy. Good service but bring cash… really, it’s 2015 and you don’t take cards???

If you want to experience the quintessential hometown diner you can’t go wrong here. Of course, the food is great — it’s «diner food» but not«greasy spoon» diner food. Country fried steak, biscuits and gravy, grilled pork chops, fried bologna, and a 10-egg omelet(how is that possible?) — along with all the usuals; delicious! The atmosphere is like being welcomed into someone’s large country kitchen. Mostly older locals as customers, so you may overhear stories of their latest ailments but the place is quiet and the conversations are not overbearing. Be warned, cigarette smoking is allowed throughout the small space. I really can’t stand cigarette smoke, particularly when eating, HOWEVER this place must have great ventilation because I didn’t even notice an old-timer smoking two tables away from me. What makes this place TRULYSPECIAL is the wait staff — «staff» is not the right word because these ladies are so sweet they feel more like the best kind of family. Just good people — so refreshing nowadays. If you’re having a bad day you can’t help but feel better after two minutes in this friendly, happy place. Cash or check only.

One of my favorite places to go for breakfast! Only drawback is that it is sometimes smokey. Food is always excellent!

Food was not cooked all the way. The 13 bean soup was awful. The server was rude and did not ask anyone for drink refill. We will never go back.

The food is ok, but the service is lacking. Not asking to refill soda, putting the bill down and not coming back for the money. Our waitress was really unfriendly. If you hate your job, find a new one instead of being a miserable person.

Certainly an… interesting place to grab a bite. The food isn’t bad, but as Sean’s dad pointed out, it’s pretty hard to fuck up an egg sandwich, LOL. The service was great. She said it was only her 2nd day on the job, but she was a good server. The only thing that sucks about this place which will probably prevent me from going back? They only take cash. And yeah, I am one of those weirdos who never carries any on me. I am glad Sean’s dad had cash on him the morning we went or else we would have been stuck doing dishes(or one of us would have just driven to an ATM…) I am actually kind of shocked there are no signs with really big letters when you walk in that say CASHONLY. Also equally surprised they don’t have an ATM of some type inside… so yeah, remember to bring CASH if you plan to eat here. This wouldn’t have been an issue if they had just put a sign letting me know at the front! And the bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel is really good. Greasy, but good. Don’t expect any gourmet fancy food here, it’s really just basic, home-cookin’ style comfort food. Which is A-OK in my book, but they would have had more stars if they took debit cards… I’d probably come here more often since it’s pretty damn close to my house, pretty much walking distance. Also Sean indicated their bacon is better than Allin’s which is just down the road. Oh, snap! My jaw always drops when that boy has an opinion germane to food and restaurants, lol.

Solid diner with large portions. I had the French toast with bacon and unlimited coffee. My husband had a platter with bacon, eggs, in-house made hash browns and pancakes. Our meal was less than $ 20! Service was friendly, clientele was mostly regulars. Décor is something to be desired. One room has smoking, the other does not.

Nice small town feel dinner in old St. Charles. Staff was very friendly and quick. Food came out quick and was very good. Price was fair. Huge outdoor patio.

The next time I have a hankering for going out for breakfast it will be Lady Di’s. The food was awesome. It was hot, fresh and great. Service was great too. We had a server named Trista who did a fantastic job. This might turn into a Saturday morning tradition!

Ate here outside with a friend for breakfast. Food was great, service was mediocre. They only accept check and cash outside, so I had to pay by check. Had to leave check on table bc waitress never came back out to take it and there wasn’t anyone available to help. Still would come again, food is cheap for what you get!

Great place! Never going anywhere else for breakfast all day in the St. Louis area. Bigf fluffy omelets, crispy hash browns, nothing greasy about this greasy spoon. A little lacking in atmosphere, but well made up for by the camaraderie between the waitresses and patrons, and the table to table gossip even among stranger. One of those places where no one is a stranger.(5 stars if it weren’t a bit smokey.)

The breakfast is great here — lots of choices, really great prices. There isn’t much room inside at all. The dining room is just about as big as the kitchen. It gets pretty busy, and we like to sit outside. The big draw here is the 10-egg omelet. It’s huge, and I saw several people trying to eat something that large! I had a great omelet with just a few eggs, and some breakfast meats. I’d give more stars, but the outside tables were dirty. It was like the vinyl tablecloths had never been really cleaned, other than a wiping between customers. They were kind of gross. Inside was clean, though.

I was to meet some friends at Denny’s for breakfast food(about noon) and someone decided to go here instead, knowing I like to check out places I haven’t been before. It didn’t even look like a diner to me but once inside it’s clear it is at a basic level of interior space. They have a few tables but also they have diner hall seating so on busy days you have to sit next to strangers, which for some makes for an unique experience. I ordered the tornado which had bacon, eggs, hash browns and cheese. It was pretty good and came with a side of toast, which I asked for extra toasted and it came out just as I liked. Service was excellent and they even brought me an extra order of toast after getting the bill at no charge and also a soda to go. While the food was good, just not sure it rises to a higher level. Worth checking out at least once.
