What a lovely way to get out in the sea air and see the area from a different perspective. The vintage boat is beautiful and in great condition, and the captain is a longtime resident who knows all about the history of Sag Harbor’s people and places.

Captain Anton the best! What a terrific thing to do if you’re visiting or entertaining guests or looking for a romantic date! very relaxing and the swimming was so nice.

We booked an hour-​long sunset cruise with Captain Hagen for my friend’s bachelorette party. The Captain is very kind and knows the area extremely well. He even pointed out Jimmy Buffet’s home and Richard Gere’s home during the cruise. The boat is very clean (he did ask us to take off our shoes and leave them at the dock, which we weren’t expecting… but that must be why the boat is so clean!) and had enough seating for the 6 of us.
We sipped on wine and took lots of pictures while enjoying the beautiful sunset and scenery. It was the perfect start to our bachelorette weekend! I highly recommend the sunset cruise with Captain Hagen.

We hired Capt. Hagen for a sunset cruise around Sag Harbor for the first night of a friend’s Bachelorette weekend. He was hilarious, professional, and overwhelmingly accomodating.
His knowledge of the history of Sag Harbor was amazing and he knew when we wanted to hear more and when we all just wanted to bask in the beautiful views.
So impressed by him, his gorgeous boat, and the sunset views of this part of the country.

We had an amazing time on Captain Hagen’s boat. It was our first time in Sag Harbor, and we couldn’t have asked for a more friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable guide. The boat is big enough for a group and child-​friendly, but small enough to offer an intimate and relaxing experience. In short, it was the perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon. We will definitely be back.

Last weekend was my first time in Sag Harbor, and an ocean jaunt on a sunny afternoon with Captain Hagen was the cherry on top of my visit to this charming town.
A local, the Captain is very familiar with the area and pointed out homes and boats belonging to people of interest. We even cruised by John Steinbeck’s writing shack which made my day as a native Californian. The ship herself has ample seating for groups, which we were. Thanks for the great time, Captain Hagen!

Best Charter in the area. Captain Hagen is fantastic, he has a lot of great stories about the area and is very knowledgeable. We went out to Shelter Island, and it was just beautiful. The boat is great and Captain Hagen makes it the perfect experience. Very relaxing and a lot of fun! Will definitely do this again! Highly recommended!!!

We had an unforgettable experience with Captain Hagen! It was the most relaxing boat trip ever hands down. Captain is funny, very hospitable, accommodating and knowledgeable about the area and history of Sag Harbor. It was definitely the highlight of our weekend trip and I can’t wait to do it again in the fall. His boat is beautiful and well kept. Spent a lovely afternoon on Captain Hagen’s boat cruising around Sag Harbor. What a treat! Sag Harbor Charters provides a unique opportunity to see some of the mega yachts in the Harbor in addition to all the wildlife on Shelter Island. His boat, the Marlinspeak, is very clean, spacious and comfortable. We loved getting to know the Captain — as a long time Sag resident, he offered up excellent recommendations (best restaurants, walking paths, etc.) and interesting stories. Highly recommended!
Also, if you’re in need of accomodations in Sag Harbor, the Captain has three lovely rooms available to rent through AirBnB. His beautiful home is a short 7 minute walk down historic tree-​lined Main Street to Sag Harbor’s charming downtown area. The house is located on the water, with sweeping views of Sag Harbor Cove from the flower-​covered deck. The adjacent marsh is a bird watcher’s paradise! Captain Hagen was a kind, gracious, and accommodating host. I stayed there for two nights, and cannot wait to return!

We had the best time cruising around with Captain Hagen! He took us out by the Cedar Point Lighthouse and to a wonderful area for swimming, ensuring our safety and watching out for jellys! What a fantastic experience. Highest recommendations!

Went for a beautiful lovely sunday night sunset cruise around the waters of Sag Harbor. North Haven — Shelter Island — Mashomack Preserve — Cedar Point — Gardiners Bay — Azurest, Ninevah Beach and Gardiners Island. Ask Captain to show you Billy Joel’s 3 boats including the famous (Downeaster) Alexa. As a 30 year resident he knows the area’s history and points out all the sights and celebrity homes. Pick up some food at The Dock House at the marina and some local wine and you ate guaranteed to have and amazing time. Comfortable boat with great company made for a very enjoyable evening. I also stayed at Captain’s B&B down the street for the ultimate Sag Harbor experience. Will return soon! Thanks Cappy!!!

Captain Hagen was awesome, the perfect captain you would want for a chartered boat ride. Worth the money!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!
Captain Hagen was absolutely wonderful… A group of 8 ladies set sail on the waters of Sag Harbor and we had such a great experience.
We laughed — danced — took pictures — and celebrated with a birthday cake on the boat. We saw celebrity homes like Richard Gear’s house — It really was a great time!

Anyone who wants to take a tour of the waterways around Sag Harbor should look up Captain Hagen. A lifelong sailor who has plied Long Island Sound for decades, he knows every nook and cranny, is well-​versed in the history of the area and can lead you easily to the best sightseeing, fishing or sunbathing in the area. He’s also great with kids, giving my young son a memorable course in boat steerage and terminology during our two-​hour excursion.
