Delicious, great quality food for a good price! The waffles are amazing, the pancakes are fluffy and dense, and the country style potatoes are delicious!

I very seldom leave a place of business such a poor review but this one takes the cake! My husband an I were all of the 4 customers in this place, waited almost 10 minutes just for coffee, our food took approximately 20 minutes after our coffee. We received 3 very dark fried looking pieces of bacon that were hardly edible, the country potatoes were hard and very uncooked along with the onion which tasted to have been just cut up and thrown in. I had to get up and call the waitresses just to get a refill on my cup of coffee which sat empty through my entire attempt to stomach down the food!!! Smh… what has happened to quality customer service!!!

If you are looking for some fancy place to have brunch, avoid this place. BUT, if you want your basic breakfast this is the greasy spoon for you. Their steak and eggs are good, as is the Meat Lover’s Skillet(you can ask them to add the sausage gravy over the top if you don’t care about heart health), the Farmer’s skillet and my sister loves the patty melts. The coffee is hot but weak, the toast is buttered and the waiters and waitresses are friendly, funny and will get to know you if you go there a few times.

The service is nice enough, but they take FOR-EV-ER. The food is NOT worth any part of the experience.

Best burgers I have had in a long time! I work like 2 blocks away and my coworkers and I order to go from here all the time. We love it. They have a super good special in the morning. Two eggs, hasshbrowns or potatoes, your choice of bacon or ham with toast for less than $ 6. It’s delicious!

Eh. Probably won’t be coming back. The service is pretty good and the prices can’t be beat, other than that there’s nothing special. The coffee was horrible; I’ve never tasted such watered down coffee before! Our booth has been just wiped down and it was still very wet when we were seated. The water marks also didn’t look clean, so it was just a gross feeling the whole time. The restaurant overall just doesn’t feel clean and welcoming.

The service here is fantastic. BUT, their food is severely undercooked. Other than that, the place is great.

We shoulda known better. We were craving a simple and cheap breakfast option in the neighborhood on a lazy Sunday. We’ve driven by this place a million times but never bothered to check it out. But we threw caution in the wind and despite warning signs, we ended up here. When we walked in, immediately we noticed an odd old mildew smell. It was really off putting. The décor is very outdated … This diner had defiantly seen better days. The hostess saw us waiting and took us to our brown Formica table and sat us on our brown and worn out vinyl seat. Well, at least we had a window seat ! A positive here is the huge Windows along the walls. Interesting people watching can be had staring out the window. Looking at the menu, it seems they carry the basics for breakfast and lunch. Prices were reasonable but not super cheap either. I ended up ordering a California omelette and my butterball ordered their French toast blast … Which was a normal French toast and eggs and sausage plate. The butterball said his meal was ok … Not amazing but ok. It was simple. My omelette… Was not good at all !!! I think they used egg out of a carton for the omelette and the bacon was disgusting! I only ended up eating a third of my omelette and picked out the bacon. It tasted like old rancid fake meat. I could not eat it. The hashbrown was ho-hum. Normal and I ordered sourdough toast which came nicely toasted and buttered ! My toast was my favorite part of my meal. Anyway, the waitress was pleasant enough. This place is just not my thing. It seems to attract an older crowd and maybe some regulars in the area. for the money spent I could have gotten much better food and a nicer ambience. Oh well.

A-maze-ing service! I got waffles with whipped cream, nutella, strawberries, and banana!(And bacon, and eggs on the side lol) It was absolutely amazing! I also got the freshley squeezed orange juice with no pulp, and that was good. Because i dont like pulp. I will be back again soon!

Ugh. This place makes me shudder when I remember coming here. I used to live right by this place and was roped into going much more often than I would have liked. The food just isn’t good. If you do have to come here play it safe and get the basic waffles/eggs/sausage type stuff. Don’t be adventurous. Trust me.

I’ve eaten here several times, so it must be okay. The food is good, basic American fare. Nothing special ambiance wise, but good location and great parking. Worth the money.

Great breakfast spot to take my daughter! She loved the chocolate chip pancakes! I had the waffle which was HUGE. Great for a family breakfast spot! The only reason I dropped a star is because it wasn’t very busy and coming from a service industry background, they could have checked how everything was or if I needed anything. Overall, i enjoyed it. :)

Waffle Square ain’t fancy, but it’s cheap and it gets the job of filling your stomach done. I’ve never been because I shy away from places that decorate in shabby country chic(wooden folk art and plush animals *shudder*) but I usually rise to the challenge of Unilocaling places I haven’t been before. We came in on a Sunday right around noon and it was pretty dead inside. We were seated and had our order taken promptly, our waiter was very polite, we had our food in about 10 minutes, the food tasted fine and breakfast for 2 cost less than $ 30– not bad by midtown standards. Shout-out to the pigs in a blanket, which I’ve never had for breakfast before and were particularly buttery and tasty. To quote Dom Deluise, Waffle Square is «nice… not thrilling, but nice.»

I come to waffle square for a couple of reasons…1 to get away from the Dennys crowd.2 to support the midtown movement(city love) and 3 because they have a great Country Fried Steak deal for 7 or 8.99., how can i resist(plus who doesnt like getting a deal) and to be quite honest the country fried steak is Actually good! Now the décor of the resturant is extremely Outdated… but who cares when the food is good. I Always try to get served by the tall Mediterranean guy with the accent(outstanding customer service) everyone else is pretty much eeeehhh!

One star for having tasty waffles. Other than that, this place is chaos. I ordered the half waffle with mini cheese omelet and crispy bacon. The food took about 40 minutes to come out. The«omelet» was a flap of folded over eggs with a few cheese shreds scattered on TOP. The bacon was undercooked and limp. The server said that the cook doesn’t make real omelets(with cheese inside) when it is busy. ??? Then it’s not really an omelet is it? Unfortunately, the server seemed bothered with me for wanting what I ordered and did not seem happy to fix the problems. It’s also pretty confusing when you walk in since there’s people standing everywhere waiting to be sat and no organized order. You are just expected to speak up that you were here before or after so and so. Not a positive experience at all.

Damn you Unilocalers disappointed me!!! We went to Fox Goose which had an hour wait time so we went to the next closest breakfast spot. From the moment we walked in, we were unsure but gave them the benefit of the doubt. The blonde waitress didn’t even acknowledge us. She went on to take some dishes out for the customers. I get it, you’re super busy but a quick«I’ll be with you shortly» would’ve been nice. So we order. let me start by saying their coffee didn’t even taste like coffee to me. The cup itself smelled like bleach. I barely even drank the coffee. I was afraid that if we complained, they’d do something to our food. I got the Popeye omelette and the country potatoes which were OK, and the powdered gravy over stale biscuits– I took one bite and couldn’t eat the rest. My husband got the waffle combo. The waffle was good, eggs were OK(can’t really mess those up) and the sausage was really burnt. NOJOKE, after eating the omelette and drinking part of the coffee, I got a serious dizzy spell which has never happened to me. I’m a healthy person. I thought«Shit. Don’t tell me I’m gonna start hallucinating!» So if I get sick, I know where it’s from. The customer next to us complained that she asked for no ham. The brunette waitress said«I didn’t know. You didn’t ask» and she said«Yes I did. I say no ham.» «Well I didn’t hear you.» Nice. Never ever going there again.

Since I live literally 2 blocks from this place, my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. We walked here in the morning and got seated right away. Our waitress was extremely nice and attentive.(I loved her cheetah Santa hat!) I ordered the Country Omelet with their country diced potatoes and biscuits with gravy. My boyfriend ordered their breakfast sampler with hash browns and white toast. Our food came out within 10 – 15 mins, pretty fast! My omelet was filled with ooey gooey yummy-ness! There were onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, cheddar and jack cheese, and hash browns. DELISH! It was sooooo good! Their red diced potatoes were ONPOINT! My boyfriend seemed to enjoy his food as well! I was soo stuffed when I only ate half of my omelet and potatoes. My biscuits with gravy was also very tasty! I just couldn’t eat everything because the portions were fairly big. I would definitely come back! Next time, I would like to try their waffles… they looked sooo darn tasty!

FROMTHEREARVIEWMIRROR I’ve usually been coming here for lunch. But of late, my office team has been hitting Waffle Square for breakfast meetings. Doing brunch in conjunction with a meeting certainly beats sitting in the stuffy office conference rooms, and not every meeting requires a goddam PowerPoint Presentation with an In-Focus Machine(thank god). THESKILLETS The skillets have become a particular favorite of mine. I typically like the steak skillet complete with hashbrowns, eggs and cheese. Eggs can be mixed in or separate depending on your preference. OMELETS, BISCUITS&GRAVY, Oh my! They also have the other breakfast/brunch standards including traditional Biscuits & Gravy and omelets requested to order. THELOWDOWN No reason to have a boring office meeting if you can eat a good brunch along with it.
