Avoid it ! They won’t have enough food for your guests and will look for any minor excuse to keep your deposit.

DO NOT PLAN YOUR EVENT HERE!!! In a very ghetto and unsafe place. The russian lady who you talk to is a rude rude lady. There was one worker who we nicknamed selena gomez, she wouldnt give us more chips and dip. ugh. The shady liquor store across the ballroom just adds to the beautiful inner city scenery.

These guys were very helpful with all coordination for event and our event went off with out a hitch.

I was really skeptical about this place considering it’s location on Del Paso Boulevard, but once you get inside it is really a great space. I had to plan my wedding on short notice, and I was trying not to make it the most lavish wedding. Considering what I was budgeting my wedding for, I am really glad that I picked Uptown Ballroom for my reception. They offer full packages (linens, centerpieces, catering, etc.). We chose the cheapest package that they have considering I’m not the kind of person to think about extravagant decorations and such. My package included table clothes (not ones that reached the floor), tier 1 centerpieces (which I’m still not exactly sure what that means), use of the AV system, and buffet style catering. There are a bunch of other things it included, but I don’t remember what they all were since they were kind of basic things that should be offered. Bobi (the guy who cooks the food and runs the place) was really helpful, and Haley (one of the employees that was on my event) was seriously awesome.
I will have to say that if you are looking for 5 star cooking, you will probably have to go to an outside catering company for that, but for what we paid, I really enjoyed the food. I especially liked the vegetables. The meat that was offered could use some improvement, but as I didn’t want to over stuff myself on my wedding day, I didn’t mind because the servers who plate the food for you in the buffet line do give you generous portions of everything.
In an industry where there are corkage fees and every other kind of fee that other vendors make you pay because you think it’s the most important day of your life and there is no limit to how much you will pay to make it perfect, I would say that Uptown Ballroom exceeded my expectations to make one of the most expensive days of my life feel like a million times more extravagant than I could have ever dreamed.
