Ok, I absolutely adore this place. It’s perfect for me in every way. I wanted to find a more intimate setting where I didn’t always have to go out with friends(not that I don’t like my friends or appreciate them), and I could just go out alone to have a drink but also not feel all the weirdness that I feel like I would get when going to a bar at a nice restaurant. The Grand is intimate, cozy and each of the staff are all superb. I love each of you guys.

Intimate and warm. Perfect place to unwind by yourself or with a group of friends. GREAT cocktails!

This place is just okay. It’s great to people watch and sit outside. Seating outside is not that comfortable. The location makes it worth trying out. The service was not very impressive the last few times, for a small place it seems like the service would be more attentive with some conversation perhaps, but we didn’t get that at all, there was only one other couple there at the time. The wine list was decent, some interesting picks. I didn’t like having to go to the parking garage and up a dark flight of stairs to use the ladies room. We had one glass of wine each, watched people walk by, and left, there was no real reason to stay and have another glass.

My favorite place to just chillout and watch the city go by. It’s small but enjoy the intimate vibe. Prices are reasonable and staff has always been great.

This is sacramentos best kept secret. The bartender is really cute. She has a cute butt and she makes me sandwiches. Foreal. The sandwiches are really good.

While I’m not typically a big fan of wine, I am definitely a fan of excellent cocktails and wonderful company. I’ve passed this particular location several times during downtown bar festivities and every time I see this cozy little corner spot, I make a mental note to stop by sometime. At first glance you’re not entirely sure if it’s even a bar; it has a fancy look about it that you think it could be a hotel lobby entrance, and at the same time it keeps a low-key aura about, especially with all laughter and conversation of patrons occupying the dim-lit patio seating. I visited on a weekday night just before opening. Kira(apologies if spelled incorrectly), the bartender, welcomed us in and immediately we felt at home. We gave her the freedom of selecting our drink choices all night and she made some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. I had asked for something with gin as a base and refreshing; she started with a Last Words. Wonderfully made and emptied quickly. Aside from the drinks, the company was fantastic. Outside, Kira and Alex made our night fly by with fun conversation. Although nobody else seemed to pop in while we there, I didn’t mind at all.

This place is a midtown gem! What a fantastic experience. Met my BF there for happy hour on Friday just to grab a glass of wine before dinner. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of intriguing wines on their tasting list. They had wines from everywhere, Italy, France, Argentina, Oregon, Washington. As much as I love California wine, it’s nice to have the option to taste a global selection. Kiera, the sommelier/bartender, exhibited great knowledge and understanding of wines without being snooty. The menu offers cocktails and a cheese plate in addition to wines. I love that the wine offerings are 3 oz. or 6 oz. So I could taste several. Kiera started off by asking me what type of wines I generally like and I told her I like bold reds, not too sweet. «Ok, I know just the wine for you». I was hesitant at first to have someone just choose a wine for me(since I’m picky) but just that simple explanation and Kiera listening to feedback after each wine resulted in one fantastic wine after another. Each glass built on the previous selection. She’s a master of her craft. The place is intimate and inviting inside. The outdoor patio is perfect for people watching and relaxing. The place was chill until about 6:30 and then started filling up fast with buzzing happy people. We ended up staying for quite awhile tasting and enjoying wines and then realized, we should get some food! Can’t wait to go back! p. s. get there before 6:00pm for the chill vibe, otherwise it will get busy!

Nice, nice nice little spot in down town Sac, drinking a glass of wine while my husband enjoys a cigar and beer on a corner of down town Sac. Huh… Enjoying the evening. Great friendly staff

The«Grand» Illusion — Very Marginal selection of wine and beer. They may have wines from notable places; yet, there’s nothing remarkable about their selection. The characters from the movie«Sideways» would have a field day eviserating this selection. Not to mention midtown having numerous better places for beer. I recommend you look elsewhere. Oh, finally, the service is spotty and occasionally quite appalling. Sacramento can do much better – and, frankly does and many within a few blocks. Goodbye«Grand» disappointment.

I’ve been meaning to try this cute, tucked away bar I occasionally stroll by on the corner of 16th& L for some time now. The inside reminds me of a NYC bar, quaint and cozy. I didn’t realize it was a wine bar also before stopping in last night. I enjoyed a 3 oz pour of Barbara(nice and smooth!) for $ 4.50 and my husband had a cocktail. We sat outside and people watched the Saturday nightlife crowd, as our bench and rock table faced the streets. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating, as it is a small space, but I like it and think it adds to its charm. I love that their hours listed are early evening to late night. They feature a happy hour during the week I’ll have to check out with a friend. I’ll definitely be back!

Friendly service with an intimate setting. Fun for a date night. They have a decent selection of wine, a menu of mixed drinks specialties, and a small beer selection. Roughly $ 5 for 3 oz glass of wine and $ 10 for 6 oz. $ 5 for a pint of beer. $ 8 – 10 for mixed drinks. Not a large place, so I wouldn’t bring a group.

Not impressed. With all the other wine bars at close proximity, I think I’d rather spend my money elsewhere. Service was just all around whack. I guess if you’re not over the age of 40 or a regular you’ll get poor service. We were passed up for drinks for a much older couple who just walked in. I actually had to go inside the small bar area to get some help since no one was out there or paying attention that more customers had arrived. Selection for wine wasn’t that great either. Sucks because this place is a great spot to people watch!

On the corner of 16th& L. Low-key. I always forget about this place. It’s small with a patio area in front. And, they have more than wine! Yeah, I was surprised to find they serve cocktails as well as beer and wine. And that’s pretty much it. The interior has some seats at the bar and a couple tables. You’ve got some music playing. Then there’s seating outside. And they do have a restroom available in the parking garage. Happy Hour until 7pm Closed Sundays

Stopped here on Friday night before getting food with friends. This is a nice«little“wine bar, perfect location to people watch. We got to hang out with the owners dog who is a extremely nice large poodle. Roscoe I believe was his name. The Zinfandel at this place is delicious good for people who love Red wine. Wine selection was very small.

Stopped by after dinner with friends on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty though another group(or two) did come in after we did. The place is really cute and cozy. The tall ceilings are pretty majestic especially with all the drink bottles on display along and up against the walls. Sit by the windows and you can people watch. Would definitely return during spring/summer nights to check out their patio. Service was great as well. Our bartender was very nice and took a picture of our group without a hint of annoyance that some people sometimes give.

I’ve been here twice and I love being able to go into a nice cozy little spot for a glass of wine. It’s the perfect place to people watch on the weekend as you watch drunk ass bro’s and ho’s walk out of the mix and deveres hahaha. It’s entertaining as hell lol. Also the lady that is there is always friendly and helpful about what kind of wine to get.

I came by The Grand wine bar on a Saturday night with my mom and was unimpressed with the inattentive service and limited choices, but it is a nice respite from the chaos of that part of town. We were looking for something to do after dinner and decided to walk over here. It was a hot night, and inside it wasn’t as air conditioned as I expected, requiring us to leave a little early as we got too hot in there. The outdoor patio is nice, but it was hotter out there, even at 9pm. Both spaces are very, very small. You could fit in a group of 4 to one outside area, but otherwise come alone or in pairs. Décor was a bit dated and dusty, with very off/odd alternative music playing on the stereo. The cocktails looked interesting, but I don’t drink, so had a soda water. My mom loves wine and asked for a dry white glass. The servers provided a suggestion that she liked and were pretty quick with service. The servers were nice, but after delivering our drinks, they posted up outside and never checked back in on us. With that and the heat, we took it as a cue to leave. I really expected better service at a wine-bar, but this small space at The Grand will get you a glass in a crunch.

It seems like a nothing spot but The Grand is worth checking out, if only to marvel at its lack of space! The high ceilings, long windows, and narrow room are charming but functional, and the interesting artwork alone is enough to spark conversation. Stop in for a drink on a bar crawl or date night… Wine and beer only and a little on the pricey side, but excellent service if you sit inside. Hands down one of the best patios downtown, if you want to relax outside and watch the world go by. I always forget about this place until I come here and remember how much I love it. A hidden gem.

I am in agreement with all other reviews, this is one of the smallest places ever But with very inviting staff, lots of various wines, now a full bar and one of the best people watching spots in Sacramento, Yay I am a fan!!! With my glass of bubbly in hand, hubby and I sat back and watched all the crazy cars, the loud music, the young 20 somethings in tiny dresses, the older 40 somethings in tiny dresses plus not to forget mention the Tight T-Shirts with the Jersey jelled hairstyles walk on by! Very entertaining!!! Superior wine list!!! We will be back to grab a seat to the show!!!
