This is my favorite winery in the region. In fact, it’s the only place I’ve ever legitimately been tempted to sign up for the wine club. Hey, I feel like I crossed some adulthood barrier here. Now we belong to a wine club! We were impressed by the owner, Mark, who often can be seen stopping in the tasting room or on the patio to check in with visitors. You can tell he loves doing what he’s doing: making wine. We even got a barrel room tour once, which was a learning experience. The winery definitely looks like it would be a nice place for a special event. One of the times we were there, a guy proposed to his girl there. Some wineries have staff that clearly can’t be bothered with you, who never go beyond pouring a taste and looking bored. At Scribner, we’ve always felt welcome and comfortable, and have always felt free to ask questions or chat. My favorite wine here is the almond sparkling wine. If you’re lucky, they’ll have some open to taste. This stuff is so good it inspired our frugal friend to buy a couple bottles for herself. My other big favorite — one we got another friend hooked on – is the reserve Black Hat Tempranillo Lot 89. I also like their Late Harvest Chardonnay, also a reserve, because it’s sweet and I like sweet wines, to my spouse’s chagrin. I should mention we’re still learning about wines. If you told me 15 years ago that I would be living in California and tasting wine, I would’ve called you crazy. So I know what I like, like I know art. But you can believe me when I tell you to get some of the Lot 89. We have some squirreled away for special occasions. And because we’re wine club members(discount, holla) and because it’s right down the road, we can always get more.

We don’t typically review, but we had to this. Where do we start? Scribner Bend Vineyard(SBV) felt«homey» the minute we walked onto the vineyard. The downward slope into the vineyard felt like you were driving into a separate world. My, now, wife and I felt comfortable the minute we walked onto the grounds. We were met with an arch of white roses, a huge dining area and smiles from staff as we walked into their tasting room. We were looking for venues for our wedding in late November. SBV was our last stop after visiting several potential ones. Then we met Kelley and Karen, the wedding coordinators. They were Awesome!!! We could not have asked for a better combo. They were very responsive to our questions… and we had A LOT of them!!! Whether it was by email or call, one of them covered for each other and we got our answers right away. As for service on the night of our wedding, the staff was phenomenal. Our guests felt cozy and kept commenting to us that it was elegant, and that everyone was so nice. The staff does a great job of making you feel like you are SBV family. We only had our reception there, so our cocktail hour started with a short walk through vines into a grassy open space surrounded by grape vines. What a nice touch. As for a late November wedding, they fixed it up with heaters in the dining area… It was great. Kudos to SBV for a job well done on our wedding night. SBV is very hospitable and elegant and we’re happy to be members of their wine club. Finally, the wine. SBV’s selections are great. For those who like the sweeter wines, try the Sparkling Almond Wine and Vognier… our favorite is Blackhat.

Came here on Saturday night for a wedding and I have to say the setup is breathtaking! As I drove down the driveway to the winery, I saw a white tent with tons of white lights and the bride and grooms name illuminated on the barn wall. The walkway to the courtyard where the wedding was was well lit and the vines and bushes were well manicured. The bar(open bar just as a note) was in the bar and they had wine and beer available. I extremely enjoyed the wine selection they had, but they only had a selected few available. The event was under a tent, at the beginning of November when temperatures dropped to the 50’s at night, but staff did an amazing job at adding heaters. The bathroom area is a little dark, could use a lamp. I take 1 star away for the terrible parking. The food was super delicious! Not sure if it was prepared by the winery or if they had a caterer come in, but the salad was phenomenal! If you’re looking for a wedding venue, check this place out as I will keep this as an option whenever I do get married. Looking forward to coming back and doing a wine tasting session here!

One of the best tasting flights I’ve had! They are on the sweeter end for whites, but delicious none the less. They have a great outdoor patio and often have live music. It was a great place to come for a girls day out, and also perfect for a date day! The service is great too!

Wow we came into the tasting room and waited for quite sometime with noone showing up. We hear the phone ring and someone answered the phone but noone didn’t come out to attend us ! I’m certain they heard us bc we could hear them clearly. It’s a beautiful spot just didn’t receive any service!

Been a member here for over a year now. Very friendly staff, always helpful and love to chat and answer questions. Love the membership option with no fee, and two bottles a quarter is perfect for me. Paired with free tasting with membership, along with the discount on other wine purchases, I love it! I’m a fan of most of their wines, especially their Tattoo wine. At the time of this review, they are finishing up a major back patio expansion and pizza oven. I sincerely hope this will lead to an expanded area for wine tasting, because the current indoor tasting room can be a bit small to handle the influx of crowds during peak times. We also arrived to see a sign on a stand saying that wine club pickups were back on the new patio, and after a little bit of wandering around(there was just the one sign pointing to the back patio, no further signs or indications) we found where the pick up location was. And while we were arriving close to closing, and were told that they had just moved the pick up back inside to the tasting room, I am hoping this is a sign that there will be a faster way to pick up wine during busy times instead of heading inside the smaller tasting room when time is short for the customer. Big fan, and I plan to continue to be a customer for a long time to come. :EDIT: Response to Business: Thanks for the reply! Looking forward to trying the Pizza soon!

Scribner is such a wonderful place to visit & drink wine. The owners are super friendly & personally greet you when you are there. Love their 89 red wine and their sparkling almond wine is fantastic! Support our local winery, Scribner’s is really one of the best in the Clarksburg area!

Anyone who says that the Sugar Mill or Bogle is better is seriously deluded. The outside yard is beautiful and more than adequately shaded. I personally LOVE the wines here, a perfect example of a sacramento/clarksburg terroir. I DO wish they would try their hand at a Chenin. Anyone who gives this place below 3 star solely based on the wine, clearly doesn’t understand«wine». Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean that it’s bad wine. All the workers and owners of this winery are perfect beautiful and amazing. #benderforlyfe

Aunt went and bought wine here yesterday. Stuff tastes like vinegar. Steer clear of Tempranillo.

We have visited Scribner many times, and have enjoyed bottles of wine purchased from their vineyard. Very pretty setting, love the white roses and lawn area. My sister and I stopped by Scribner after tasting at Bogle vineyards. I sampled two of their reds, and she sampled two whites. We decided not to purchase wine on this visit; the fee for tasting our 4 samples was $ 10.80. It was disappointing that they charge for tasting and add tax, especially after being at Bogle whom does not charge for tasting. Because of this my sister wanted to go back to Bogle and buy some wine, which we did. She also joined their wine club. I understand the concept behind the charge for tasting, but in an area as small as the delta, and relatively unknown by the rest of the world(except for Bogle!) I think charging for tasting leaves a bad taste.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place. If a winery could be considered a «home away from home», this place would be it for me. Every time I walk in it’s like seeing an old friend. The people that put their heart and soul into this place are the main reason why I keep coming back. And of course, their wine. I don’t think there is any wine here that I don’t like. The grounds are beautiful, especially with the new tent/gazebo that they’ve added. It’s no wonder so many folks get married here. If you’re looking for a good place to bring a picnic of meats and cheeses, come here. And make sure you get a bottle of Black Hat tempranillo or perhaps their Cab Franc Tattoo. Then kick back on the lawn or small tables next to the grapevines and enjoy.

Great atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. Would recommend this place to anyone! Normal tasting is only $ 5 if you are not a member but for $ 8 you can also taste the reserve tastings. If you are a member tasting is free. My wife loves the almond sparkling wine.

Scribner staff and owners, made a difficult time into wonderful celebration of a life well lived. I lost my wife to a valiant struggle and wanted to create an event not to morn, but celebrate life with her many loving friends and family. Scribner Bend ’ s facilities were well above expectations. The beautiful tent, a backdrop of luscious vine and post card buildings helped make it an event she would have loved. The coordinator was wonderful and was as interested as I was to make it an event all would remember. I highly recommend this venue and its incredible people for any type of event.

Worked as a vendor at a wedding and this venue is all around great. Worked closely with the on site staff and they were so helpful and on point. This venue itself is legitimately one of the most unique venues I have worked at in my catering career. Anyone who seeks a vineyard setting would be pleasantly surprised by this little gem tucked away by the river. One tip is for summer wedding guests to bring a jacket! It can get a bit chilly in the late evening hours,(unless you are shaking your groove thing on the dance floor).

My husband & I attended a wedding there. Loved the grounds! Loved the staff! Loved the wines! We vowed to go back. The following weekend a group of 9 of us descended upon their tasting room. While they were entertaining a shower under the beautiful tent, they were still open for tastings. How convenient! The woman pouring was delightful, as were the wines. We tasted(and loved) wines we hadn’t tasted at the wedding and signed up for their Club.

This review is particularly for Scribner Bend’s Event/Marketing Manager Karen Gamalski. Perhaps the winery and other staff are nice– I won’t go to find out thanks to my experience with Ms. Gamalski, who was rude, unprofessional and totally unhelpful. I was interested in hosting an intimate dinner party on the winery to celebrate my law school graduation. I submitted an online request form on their website with a short blurb asking for more information on date availabilities and pricing. Karen replied the next day via curt email stating simply: «we don’t do graduation parties here.» Their website explicitly states that they host any type of small event and party, including«an anniversary party, baby shower, birthday party, rehearsal dinner or just lunch with friends.» When I inquired as to the significant difference between these occasions and mine, I never received a response from her. I’ll be glad to take my business elsewhere.

We love Scribner Bend! Their wines are fabulous, especially their sparkling almond wine. Kid friendly too! The grounds are very lush and spread out so it’s perfect for the kids to run and play while the adults have some time to sip wine. The owners are very friendly and all the servers are well educated on the wines and are great to chat with.

I went here for the Unilocal event and was impressed. I have never been here before so I wasnt sure what to expect. When I got there parking was pretty easy and there were people there to help guide us to our location. Then I wandered around the venue and saw all the different wine tasting and liked how there were small vendors under the tent so I checked out some of the items such as chocolates and little gifts for christmas. Scribner Bend Vineyards is definitely a gorgeous place and I can see why people would have their wedding here.

Wine, Women AND Song! And MORE Wine. And Beer! On a pretty afternoon! SERIOUSLY! How can it get any better than that?!? ;^D SITREP We enjoyed a terrific time at the Scribner Bend Vineyards that began when we were greeted by the effervescent Abby( Unilocal CM from South Bay) who got us all loaded up onto the ROCKSTAR Limo Lounge that proceeded to take us to Scribner Vineyards where the«De-Stressing On the Delta» Unilocal Elite Party was taking place. THEWINERY«HEALTHFAIRE» — A GREATTIME! It felt like we were arriving at a beautiful outdoor wedding reception, complete with the pavilion tents and the green arbor arches. Such beautiful touches to an already beautiful scenic backdrop on the Delta. And it was like a lovely, wonderful Health Faire that was taking place at the winery, with Whole Foods Market, who put on an incredible spread for us; with Vanilla Bean: Frozen Yogurt & Cupcakes who made these INCREDIBLE bacon cupcakes that everyone seems to die for; and with Capitol Chiropractic, Wellness Massage, and Precious Massage Therapy MUSICENTERTAINMENT I was truly inspired by the music by Dinorah — she was incredibly beautiful in her vocal talents that she shared with us. Latin rhythms could sound no smoother than the way she performed them. SCRIBNERVINEYARDSTOUR Such a wonderful owner-proprietor and her team of excellent hosts and docent. We had so much fun drinking their sparkly. They also had many diverse micro-brews available for us to enjoy. We also got to enjoy a wonderful«Barrel Room Tour» by their docent who was extremely proficient in telling us about the kinds of wines and the history of wine in general. It was a extremely enjoyable time, especially when she let us sample some of the yet-unfermented grape juice that was in the larger container. It was SOGOOOD&DELICIOUS!(I snuck TWO glasses worth!) THELOWDOWN Scribner Bend Vineyards is a wonderful party location at an exquisite vineyard that you can enjoy with your best peeps.
