Rose M. Giudicessi, Creating Balance Massage & Aesthetics

A long time friend had once told me about a very unusual type of massage she gets benefits from. The type of massage she described is called, Cranial Sacral Therapy. I like what she told me, so I decided to give Rose a call. Rose was very pleasant to talk with, and described this type of therapy in great detail to me. Her warm and friendly demeanor put me quickly as ease, as I’m not really into getting massages. I made my appointment, and looked forward to meeting Rose and trying this new-​for-​me type of massage therapy.
Cranial Sacral Therapy is quite different from anything I’ve experienced, but at the same time effective and relaxing as well.
I look forward to my next appointment, perhaps next time I will try another type massage technique, as Rose is skilled in many other types as well.

Coming to Rose for my eyebrows was like no other experience I’ve had before. She actually took the time to listen to what shape I was looking for. Most of the time I just kind of accepted whatever shape the eyebrow expert was going for. Rose explained to me there are many different looks for every person, and your not limited to one way of doing eyebrows on a person’s face.
There is some serious time commitments if you’re trying to change the shape of your eyebrows. I’ve allowed my eyebrows to grow out for 6 ½ weeks before I even came in to see Rose. However, even with that amount of time, my eyebrows did not fully come in. Rose is helping me slowly reshape them. It might take another 2 – 3 months for the hair to grow back in the areas we want them to. But there’s no guarantee since waxing can result in no hair growing back in that area. We’ll just have to wait and see. But I feel I’m in good hands with Rose to give my eyebrows a new look.
Rose appears to be in her mid 40’s. She’s allowed her long jet black hair to grow in her natural white highlights. Rose has a wonderful calm spirit. She’s interesting and has a great sense of humor. She is also a naturalist at heart, her years in the industry have made her a fascinating person to talk to in regards to ingredients in products and how you can find what you need just in your own kitchen.
Because of her passion for only using the finest products for a facial line, she’s chosen to not do facials at this time. Until she can find a skin care product line that is in line with her principles, she’s mainly focusing on massages and waxing at this particular time. Which is fine by me! I can’t wait for my first massage when I get a chance. And hopefully we can get my eyebrows to cooperate!

I’m usually Unilocaling about food I like to eat, drinks I like to drink, but not so often do I review a business where I am truly grateful for their existence.
So I really don’t know where to start. I suppose I will begin at the beginning.
To do so, I would have to take you on a journey back to the car accident where my neck was turned when I was rear-​ended at 60mph; to the fractured vertebrae from slipping and falling on some stairs and hitting my spine on the edge of the stair; the many years of ballet; the numerous falls from horses and on skis (not horses on skis but that would be pretty impressive)… I could tell you all about it but ain’t nobody got time for that! So let’s just say that I’ve jacked up my back and neck pretty good.
Daily headaches and range of motion issues in my neck were just par for the course, since massages, meds, physical therapy and chiro didn’t do much for me. During an especially bad time with my neck I decided to get a massage to help lessen some of the pain. Rose was highly rated on Unilocal so I thought I’d give her a try. Because of my history with treatment, I really wasn’t expecting much.
As it turns out, the work that Rose has done with me has been life-​changing and that’s not a phrase I use lightly (or ever). Turning my head without triggering a headache is priceless. Rose understands how the body works and that addressing the mechanism of an injury is important in finding the source of the issue. Now I can go months at a time without the need for any work on my neck and back but her massages are so good, I still like to make it in more frequently.
Rose is trained in 13 styles of massage, including Swedish, deep tissue, cranial-​sacral and acupressure, but it’s not just the styles; Rose has some kind of sense for this stuff. Most recently, I’ve had pain in my low-​back, hip, knee, leg, foot — the whole darn thing was flaring up! I couldn’t figure out where it originated but Rose found it and fixed my angry psoas. I didn’t even know I had one of those!
After my last massage I was feeling so great but then I fell in Angela’s bathtub so I think I’d better head back in to see Rose. Sometimes it takes committing it to text to realize that you’re a huge klutz.

I still go to Rose every time I make it back to Sacramento. After moving to Austin, I miss her skill with waxing and massage. I have yet to find a suitable replacement here and make an appointment with her on every visit to Sacramento.

I was looking for a good place to get my eyebrows waxed, and I stumbled across Rose’s page on Unilocal.After reading all of the great reviews about her, I decided to give it a try. She does a great job on my eyebrows, which is no small feat, as my brows can get pretty crazy. She uses some kind of soy wax that is used to remove hair for plastic surgery. It still leaves me red and a bit irritated afterwards (I do have very sensitive skin), but not like the regular wax they use in most salons. The atmosphere is very relaxing and she’s easy to talk to and I always enjoy my visits. The last time I was there, I came in for a massage to help with training for a triathlon, and she definitely found the trouble spots in my hips and neck and worked them out really well. I would definitely like to come back for another massage soon.

I had a really bad experience with massages in the past, but Rose put me at ease. I came in with upper back pain that radiated to my chest. After just 1 hour with Rose, I felt a lot lighter and the pain reduced. She concentrated mainly on my problem area which I really appreciated. I wasn’t looking for the «spa experience», just a good therapeutic massage. I would recommend her to everyone. I can’t wait to go back.

I am somewhat of a bodywork snob, having been in their midst and having a large cross-​section of their skills and approaches. Rose stands head and shoulders above the rest, working almost miracles as she combines all of her years of continuing research into a skilled holistic assessment. I recommend her as a five star health professional, elevating the art of massage into the healing arts.

I’ve been going to Rose for massage for a long time; she is truly phenomenal. I’ve had cranio-​sacral from her, after which I could swear I grew a ¼ inch and felt amazing. The headaches and backaches I had been experiencing were gone for weeks. I’ve also had Thai massage with her, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I didn’t know I could stretch like that! And her «regular» massage is so relaxing I usually have to take a few minutes getting back to reality before it’s safe to drive.

Went in for my appointment to get a half-​leg, lip and eyebrow waxing. The lobby is very serene. FIsh tank, reading materials, inviting sofa. Heck, I may prefer to nap there rather than my own home!
The place is extremely clean, sanitary, organized, etc. It’s conveniently located right off the freeway.
Services are beyond awesome! She took her time and explained what she was going to do. Meticulous. I’m a fan of hers for life! Definitely recommending her to everyone I know… even to you, reading my review.

Rose is incredibly gifted. I received Bowen Therapy from her a while back. Her style is gentle and precise. I would feel old emotions hidden in muscle tension come up, and then just slide away. I laughed. I cried. It was better than Cats.
