My first time going to Uncle Vitos was in Davis it is nice to have finally come to Sac. I thought it was pretty interesting that they infused a pasta place, good pair with pizza. Anyways the vibe is pretty cool, Crepevile like place and they have a bar in a separate section. You order first then they bring you the food. So good chill place to go to. The pastas is pretty amazing for its price. Be sure to try their tomato pesto pizza, I know what you are thinking theres no meat but trust me it is bomb. I like the idea of selling pizza by the slice(they do this here). Also be sure to try the thai chili fries, a little more on the sweet side for me but its a different take to fries.

Tried this place on a Friday early evening! When we came, it wasn’t too busy which was fine with me. There is NO table service and you have to order from the front counter and they bring you your food. There is plenty on the menu which is written above the front counter just like Crepeville. We ordered the Gilroy Garlic Fries, a small Cesar salad, and the popular baked pasta. The Gilroy Garlic fries was pretty good… the portion was good and it has a lot of garlic covered with Parmesan cheese. The only thing I did not care for was the Rosemary. I am not a big Rosemary fan but many people are. Next time I will just hold it. The Cesar Salad was okay, nothing special… pretty good dressing, could use more dressing… The baked pasta was pretty good. I substituted angel hair pasta and it was good. I love angel hair and the sauce was a little sweet… maybe from the red wine… but it was pretty good. The pasta is baked like a lasagna and I would order it again. It also comes with garlic bread. Overall it was pretty good. Next time I will order something different but it is a good place for gatherings and date nights. It is very spacious and it is actually connected with Uncle Vito’s Pizza. Pretty good and worth a try!

Nice place to stop to eat after hitting all the awesome brew pubs around. This place gets crowded so it must be good. The service was excellent as well even with the crowds. The Combo pizza was delicious and they had Lagunitas Little Somethin Somethin on tap. Good way to end our night. Prior to doing this review I checked out their menu. Looks like a decent Italian place not just a pizza joint. Check it out when in the area.

So it’s been a while since I’ve Unilocaled, but I had to throw some love to the Pronto restaurant because it has a great energy and their beef stroganoff is to die for! I’m sure you’ll like anything on their menu they are fast and friendly

Definitely recommended. All plates are around 10 – 11 $. So fulfilling and yummy. With garlic bread. I love garlic bread. Wish it would have more garlic and less oil. Chef did a great job. I was happy with my plate.

Order-and-sit type spot but DELICIOUS and affordable Italian. My BF got craft beers, Fettuccine Alfredo, fried ravolis, and garlic bread for us to share after a long bike ride. It was delicious! And only 30 dollars for drinks and PLENTY of food? Oh I’ll be back.

I would rate this a 3.5 star given the option lol. Came here to try this place out with one of my friend. I ordered the chicken and sausage pasta dish along with Thai chili fries and a glass of Merlot wine. The pasta tasted fine, it was satisfying and quite flavorful. The Thai chili fries tasted good but some of the fries were still kind of cold which makes me think they didn’t deep fried the pre-frozen fries long enough? The merlot wine tasted like it has been open for a long while. I tasted the acid more than the actual flavor of what an actual merlot is suppose to taste. But I would come back here and try out other food beside the wines.

Went in at around 7pm on what seemed to be a moderate Saturday night, and waited at the counter for well over 10 minutes while one person was on the phone possibly taking an order and multiple others passed by before we were even greeted. After another 5 or so minutes my girlfriend and I placed our order for polenta fries, thai fries, the Farmers market salad and a beer with the girl who had been on the phone. We go take a seat outside with some friends who had already been there a few and had ordered already, with our number prominently displayed at the front edge of our table. Luckily I had asked for water as well because it took at least 10 minutes for my beer to be brought to the table, which the runner seemed to have the hardest time finding even with our number displayed on the edge of the table. A few minutes after receiving my beer the polenta and thai fries were making their way out and we watch the runner try to sit them down at almost every table between us and the door. Finally feeling relieved as he approached us although he seemed confused when I asked him to confirm they were for table 32. What is the point of issuing table numbers if the food runners aren’t going to pay attention to them and set your food at every other table along the way? Eventually our Farmers Market Salad followed with the same confusing song and dance of finding our table. The food was the saving grace for our first visit here though, the polenta fries were slightly crisp on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside accompanied by 2 delicious doping sauces. The thai fries were crisp and on point, perfectly dressed in ranch and chili sauce topped with the perfect amount of cilantro and serrano pepper. The star for me was the Farmers market salad… plenty of avocado, dressed nicely with the tarragon vinaigrette and bites of dates and goat cheese were perfect although the cornbread croutons were a little on the soggy side it was delicious! TL;DR Very long wait at counter to be greeted on slow Saturday night, followed by long wait for beer and confused food runner attempting to deliver food to every other table. Service severely lacked, but the food was on point and just saved an otherwise disappointing experience.

I typically go for the Calamari Linguini, but I looked at some pictures on Unilocal and the Pork Fusilli looked really good! I was excited to try the habanero sauce as I like«kick» in my pasta. My boyfriend and I came here around 8PM last night and it wasn’t busy. I had ordered the Pork Fusilli(with no sour cream), some garlic bread and he ordered the baked pasta with sausage. Foccacia bread: If you dine in, you typically get the foccacia bread with a balsamic dip. The dip tasted yummy as always, but the bread was hard and cold! It usually comes out warm and soft, but since it was close to closing time, I think the bread just became hard. Garlic Bread: You can’t go wrong with getting their garlic bread. Bread is crunchy, but not hard; packed with buttery and garlic goodness! I love garlic, but my boyfriend doesn’t like chunks of garlic(when it comes to garlic bread) so I’m really happy that it has a tone of flavor. Baked pasta with sausage: My boyfriend is not a vegetable eater. He wanted to be adventurous and decided to try this pasta(instead of his usual order fried ravioli). He was really happy with the sausage. He stated that the sausage was really tender and had a lot of flavor(even though the sausage was very hot). One thing he didn’t like was that there were a ton of tomato chunks(and different sizes). He said the flavor was good, but it was too much work picking out the vegetables. Pork Fusilli: The presentation was really nice and the dish looks exactly like how other Unilocalers have posted. I was disappointed however when it came to the habanero sauce. I was expecting a ton of spicy goodness, but instead I received a good, yet sweet flavor sauce that had no kick. I did bite into a kick, but that was one bite. I was also thrown off at how sweet this dish is. Is it bad? Not at all! But, I was just expecting something different. The pork had a nice flavor and tasted very similar to adobo flavor(but sweeter). I’ll have to request not getting cilantro this time as it over powered the dish(I’m not a huge cilantro fan). Overall, the experience was good, just not what I was expecting. Again, not bad, but was hoping for something different when it came to the flavors of my pasta dish. I’ll definitely come back, but possibly just for the calamari linguini and garlic bread.

Everything was delicious. The fried ravioli was amazing and there were a lot of them, maybe 9. The marinara sauce tasted fresh. Polenta had a buttery flavor and the meatballs were tasty. Huge slice of pizza was perfect.

Next to Uncle VIto, you can walk from one to the other inside. This is helpful when one person in your party announces let’s have pizza. You can tell them to put their order in and you’ll wait for them. Seating– For the line out the door, the seating doesn’t make sense. I was sure when I walked by there would be no seats. Then I walked back and got in line and noticed that there was a ton of open seats inside and out. People must take the food to go. A+ on seating. Menu– I’ve ordered 3 things. Caribbean Salad, Beef Stroganoff, and Garlic Bread. All were very good, but I do have 1 big issue. The pasta dishes comes with garlic bread, but the salads don’t. That makes no sense. I’d really like a little carb with my salad. I think it would be a better fit to give the salad the bread because the pasta people are overloading on carbs. Ambiance– It’s a bit loud inside during the day. I wouldn’t mind the music turned down a bit so I can chat with my friends over lunch. It’s a bit pricy when you have to order the bread separate from the salad. It’s a great place for lunch on the weekdays. Not a good family place. They have a kids menu, but it’s so busy and loud, maybe on the weekends it would be a better place to go. In addition there isn’t much parking.

Simple counter ordering process and self service food pickup. The pork fussili order is fantastic! Great rich flavor, succulent shredded pork and fussili with sour cream and habanero-basil. Heaven for under $ 15 and plenty to eat.

How I have never written a review for my most favorite place ever I’m not sure! Two things top my list here well actually more than two probably a bunch but my current rotation for lunch go-to with friends is getting the Salmon Salad which has mangos and pecans, spring salad mix and I think a poppy seed dressing(could be wrong there) but regardless it’s about $ 8 bucks for it and it comes with a TON of salmon. Seasoned to perfection. Then — add THAIFRIES! Do it — Don’t you dare get enticed by garlic fries or buffalo fries. I’ve tried them all. Thai Fries are the best heavenly food one can make with fries. We’re talking ranch, sweet chili sauce, jalapenos and alittle either parsley or cilantro I don’t really recall. These hit the place to the stomach way too fast. We usually ask for extra sauce. There pasta is delish too! You seriously cannot go wrong at this little corner piece of food. Uncle Vitos and Pronto awaits you — go now!

Best place ever. So glad my wife and I stumbled upon this gem because it is definitely going to be a regular spot from now on. Service was fantastic, food was amazing, good part of town. I would highly recommend the Caribbean Salmon Salad and the Buffalo Fries. Their menu is so fresh and new and exciting compared to any I’ve seen in a long time. I will be coming back many times to try all the other great looking items on their menu. This is also a good place because while it is downtown the parking is still very convenient and I don’t feel like it is a part of the crazy busy section of downtown if that makes sense. Bottom line: good location.

Went there for Sunday brunch and we got lucky because there was plenty of parking nearby and no wait! I was hungry so everything on the menu sounded delicious! Stuck with the cornmeal pancakes(which you can get with 3 options) and the blueberry with whipped cream choice pulled through! The pancake was very moist and delish with every bite. Their Rosemary potatoes were also delish.

Kinda really shocked at how many negative reviews this place has. This place is great for when you’re super hungry and want a lottt of food. After 5 or 6 you can eat at Pronto and order pizza from Uncle Vito’s next door and you can order any of Pronto’s food while at Uncle Vitos. Their pizza is my second favorite after Luigi’s which sadly doesn’t exist anymore. I love their cobb salad. They give you a lot too. I usually order a slice of pizza and then split a small cobb salad with whoever I’m there with. Trust me, it’s not small. Most of the time we can barely finish it. They do not skimp on anything. Their fried ravioli is delish as well. Service is always friendly. Although you order at the counter the people who work there are always very nice and are sure to ask if you need anything once they bring you your food. And provide complimentary bread too :)

I’ve amended my ways and stopped getting salads to go here. It seems to be the only way to fix it. But everything I eat in-house is always delicious and the fact that they tried to make it right really says a lot. The other day I ordered a small mixed greens with almonds and goat cheese, as well as the soup of the day which was tortilla. I got the smallest cup of soup because I didn’t think I would want that much but LETMETELLYOU. I wanted to bathe in it, it was that good. I wish it had been never ending. The tortilla strips were fresh and the corn was too. I wish it was Soup du Forever. Because I want this every day.

My boyfriend and I have been here twice for lunch because he works downtown. Their service is pretty fast and we’re able to find parking easily. We’re usually in and out within 45 minutes. We’ve had: — Thai fries: skinny fries topped with sweet chili sauce, ranch, sliced jalapeños, and green onions. Very tasty and would recommend. Not as spicy as I thought they would be. — BLT(add avocado): bacon is always crispy and they give you a lot! They really layer on the avocado as well, so it feels more worth it. The second time we ordered it, however, some of the avocado was not yet ripe so we had to remove the hard pieces. The bread is toasted really well — so beware! Your mouth may get torn up haha. The herb mayo they put on it is really flavorful and elevates the sandwich. — Turino panini: cheeeeesy! I ordered this the first time and it was flavorful, but just had too much cheese for me. — House rosemary potato chips: included with every sandwich. Crispy and flavorful. The other side option is slaw, but I choose potatoes over slaw any day of the week. — Cesar salad: the small is plenty for one person. The croutons and dressing are house made. The dressing has a stronger anchovy taste than I am used to, but my boyfriend and I both enjoyed it. Overall, tasty food and big portions. You order at the counter and get a buzzer to pick up your food when it’s ready. I like this because the environment is nice but you don’t have to tip! A good place for a date at night. They also have polenta bowls, pasta, and gelato which look tasty as well. I will have to try them one day.
