A few years ago we went to Morton’s for Christmas Eve dinner. We arrived early so we could enjoy a drink. Despite it being very busy and the bar being very small we were able to get a drink in a reasonable amount of time. Prices are comparable to pretty much any other bar. I don’t really have any complaints and would definitely consider having a drink here again before dinner.

I debated on writing an update but I thought why not??? This restaurant is very upscale but their bar side is actually not huge. Don’t ask me who planned that but they are going to pay for that when the arena is opened next year 2016!!! We were here for the dollar filet mignon dollar sliders. I know it’s bc my HB is very cheap so I usually just go with the flow… okay I’m really in charge but not really!!! We know that they are opened normally at 430PM even though we waited in the car for awhile but come to find out they had opened earlier bc of the special they had on the sliders in celebration of the National Filet Mignon Day! When I walked into the bar, OMG the tables were filled up already by people!!! So we sat at the end of the bar sitting not counter height. It was cray cray busy; the bartenders were up to their necks with drinks & sliders orders. If fact, we ordered five sliders and then another five. We actually had to wait for 25 minutes for the first order; then for the second order it prolly took them 45 minutes. There were tons of people waiting and they did have patio seating but it was a really windy afternoon so that was very inconvenient. I’m not sure if they finally let people sit in the regular dining room but it appeared like they did. We finally got our final 2nd round and it was actually over the amount we originally requested so there was no issues. It was too bad that the filet mignon sliders sold out by five pm. Very quickly!!! They really weren’t anything special so if you didn’t get them ever you really weren’t missing out. I felt for the servers as they had to put up with a couple nasty customers. We saw a lot of issues sitting at the bar right next to all of the action!!! It actually made for some interesting entertainment but I would not come back here just for those sliders. Normally four sliders are fifteen dollars each. It is very pricey here. Come for something you really enjoy and take your time!!! I’m not sure if we would be back. Parking is a huge pain in that area… just a warning!!!

Best Happy Hour in town. Delicious eats! The sliders were my favorite, service was a little slow was the only downside. Other than that fantastic food worth a regular stop!

Come on… What do you really want me to say here that you can’t imagine yourself… I LOVETHISPLACE! Of course service is amazing! Of course drinks are amazing! Of course happy hour is fantastic! I mean I guess they could have bad service and there might be some people who didn’t have a good time here but we did. Bar staff was great and very fun to talk with. Not stuffy at all! The happy hour really is great!!! Even got into a chat about Breaking Bad with the bartender… perfect night! haha We didn’t eat this time but the last time we went we ate and the steak is the best thing I have ever had!!!

Delicious happy hour drinks and small plates. This is a classy and old fashioned type establishment, that would be lovely for a special occasion or date. Definitely a place to dress up and feel like a city gal. I would also take my grandparents or out of town quests,

I came here with some colleagues for happy hour and enjoyed a couple of Heavenly Cosmos. It was delicious. It was a pretty pink drink with this pink whipped cream/mouse thing on top. I usually don’t like cosmos because I think they’re too strong, but this drink was like a dessert! As far as food, I enjoyed the steak fries. I prefer shoestring fries, but these steak fries were really good. I think it may have to do with the seasoning. We also got these burger bites that were really cute and just the right amount. If you like garlic, get the fries with garlic and blue cheese. There was probably more stuff on it, but I don’t remember. I’ll be coming back sometime to try out the rest of the happy hour menu.

Trying to find a good happy hour in Sacramento is pretty tough, which is why I tend to stick with those within walking distance. So it was a little bit of hesitation that I decided to visit Morton’s Bar 12.21. It’s somewhat of a trek and a pain to get to during the post-work downtown Sacramento«traffic.» But it’s well worth it, because once you get there you find yourself in a cozy, dark bar, perfect for those cold winter evenings(although, I did see an outdoor deck that looked promising for those hot Sacramento nights). Their selection of drinks is adequate… I really would prefer more than the usual Bud, Bud Light, Sam Adams trio. However, their food is pretty good for happy hour fare… and it’s enough to make a meal out of, especially at $ 5 bucks a pop. Best of all was the service… very attentive bartenders and waitstaff.

Tell someone you’re going to Morton’s for Happy Hour and the first response you’ll get is, «that’s really expensive.» But point out that with happy hour pricing and bar bites, which gives you a good selection of appetizers for only $ 5, you can enjoy a nice place for just a few dollars. The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are well made and the food is delicious. Bar bites include filet mignon sliders, crab cakes and crab, spinach and artichoke dip. During happy hour you can enjoy $ 4 beer, $ 5 wine and $ 7 martinis. If you’re looking for a good place to go after work in the downtown area, you can’t do much better than Morton’s Bar 12×21.
